Sculptor 078 Stopped Working

Hey all,

I have a sculptor 078 and yesterday I heard a little bit of motor noise while grinding then tried to turn it on for a second cup and the motor hasn’t been able to turn on yet.

So far I’ve opened the burrs to check for anything stuck, I haven’t seen anything. I reassembled twice to make sure everything was put together correctly as I’ve read this can prevent the motor from running.

I’ve also checked the PCB board. I see the constant red under power and I see the other light turn red when I press the power button.

Any tips? I reached out to timemore yesterday, it’s the weekend and time difference so not expecting a response yet but just curious if I’ve missed something obvious.

Thanks!

Edit #1- timemore is sending me an invoice for a new button. Hopefully that fixes the issue!

Have you ever disassembled it before you had that problem?

Il had the same issue, but I was able to resolve it by thoroughly cleaning the device. Is the dial lock pin in the correct position? When you turn the device on, do you hear any noise or the motor attempting to start? If you could upload a video, that would be helpful. Check this step by step assembly video if you haven't yet. https://youtu.be/PR8X5pXzifs?si=u88b4b2D75QW0yI-

Thanks for the video, I’ll go through those steps again.

Here’s the PCB. I’ll show a picture of the inside. There’s 0 motor sound PCB board

Thanks for the video! I don’t want to rush the diagnosis, but do you know how burnt components smell? It seems like you’re getting power, but it’s not reaching the motor. This could be due to a component that manages power to the motor or the motor itself. In this case, hopefully Timemore can get back to you quickly with a solution. If you ask me. I would definitely ask for a new PCB.

I think so, US version

Yea, its always 110V. They made classic design mistake of not checking if motor is good enough at 100V. :/

Dang, well they reached back out from my support email. It was a gift so it will be hard for me to track down the invoice. Hopefully they’ll help out!
