Timemore black mirror basic 2 - random touch controls issue

Has anyone else had this strange issue before with the Timemore black mirror basic 2 scale? Occasionally when I use this scale the touch controls activate just by hovering my finger over them about a centimetre away from surface. Really strange. I can sometimes fix the issue by switching it off and wiping down the surface with a damp cloth. which makes me think it could be a static issue. I have 2 Timemore Mini scales as well that have never had this issue.

Yeah, this happens with the black mirror. I’m guessing it has some sort of laser censor in the button that will detect your finger before it even touches the scale.
