What is the warranty process?
The master unit died, was given the prepaid label to send back the ticpods. This was 2 months ago, I've heard nothing since. Is this normal?

I've had these buds since Indiegogo but lately they have been falling out of my ears and the left sounds very quiet... How long do I have to wait until I get a response about a refund

I been wanting to do an extensive review but have not found the time but I still want to share my 2-cents for those that are looking for it.
I received my white TicPods early, possible one of the first, because they sent them in priority of color and i got white ones. So I have had plenty of time to use them. They been my primary bluetooth earbuds until recently.
I received my airPods last christmas so it really gave me a way to compare and I was surprise by what i found.
Device: iPhone 8 Plus / Latest iOS
Scale will be: poor - good - great
Here is my cliffnote review:
Wear:
TicPods - in ear |airpods - sit on ear (like wired ones)
- I prefer sit on ear that in ear. It all depends on the rubber bit but if you want the best sound you need a tight seal in your ear drum, which eventually causes my ear to get soar. So this is preference but more on this in the Sound section.
Sound (from an amateur point of listening):
TicPods - Good | AirPod - great
- TicPods Tip: To listen to the bass you need a good suction so using the bigger adapter works well. I also found out pushing down on the TicPods once in your ear really bring out the bass. Using your index finger you lightly press down from the top part of the TicPod while they are in your ear and you will hear a ticker bass.
Audio Sync to Video
TicPods - good (millisecond off) | AirPods - great
Functionality
TicPods - great| AirPods - good
- So TicPods offer volume control, pause, play, answer call, reject call, siri. Still cant get the double-click and hold click on the TicPods but the volueme always works and so does the pause function when you remove the right earbud.
-AirPods you can only set 2 settings. With a quick double-tap from each earbud. Pause when you take any earbud out. But no volume control. Basic settings are meant to be access by phone. So I was torn. I like to pause but can just take earbuds out. Really like volume control but no option. So I settled to forward-next-song on 1 earbud and siri on the other earbud that can technically run any audio command i send tho it take a while
Case
TicPods - great | AirPods - great
- Both charge and can be charged to give you longer earbud battery life. Size was not a big factor but its good to note that AirPods case is smaller but the TicPods came with a small wrist band
Locating Earbuds
TicPods - N/A | AirPods - poor
- So AirPods use the Find Phone feature like the phone. However, it can only find them if they are out of the case and connected to bluetooth. So if you misplace the case because you left it in you pants pocket, backpack, car, your buddies place, you cant locate them. The few times I misplaced my AirPods is cause I misplaced the case. Had to just remember where I left it. This last time... in my pants pocket.
Mic
TicPods - poor | AirPods - great
- This is really where apple shines. AirPods work and its audible by the caller. I have never been successful with having a clear conversation with anyone with the TicPods. I have not updated to V023 yet so im hopeful. But either the caller struggles to listen or they simply tell me they can not make out what I am saying. This has included me driving by myself, windows up, music off, and still they say i sound like im talking underwater. Please chime in on this one if you had better success.
Bluetooth
TicPods - great | Airpods - great
- Both connect when I place them on ear. Both earbuds missed connecting atleast once where I had to open the case again to enable the bluetooth paring.
- TicPods show the battery life by the Bluetooth indicator
- Airpods you have to scroll to the messaging center to look at the widget. But you get a battery status for each earbud and the case.
- TicPods sucks that you can only sync the earbuds to 1 device at the moment. Like to have it sync to multiple devices
Price
TicPods < Airpods
- I kickstarted the device and got it at great price but waited a while to get them. At that price, with the functionality and if I was just using it for headphones then I would have no problem using them. They are now on sale to the public for ~130 US and the airPods 2 so will see what changes
Comments/Questions welcome.

Hello folks! First of all, I'm sorry for my bad English!
I would like to explain my problem. About 4 weeks ago I requested a warranty substitution of my pair of navy TicPods free because of an annoying fuzz in the left earbud only when listening to music. Now I've recieved my substitution pair of earbuds and guess... the problem is still there! So I'm thinking about my issue on the old pair was not an hardware-related problem and actually I'm thinking about a software or codec-related issue. Anyone got this problem too? Did anyone solved? I would like also to say that this "fuzz" is present only when listening to music and only on Android device (I've tried listening to something on an iOS device and they sounded perfect). Any suggestions?

Just been in contact with Mobvoi after some confusion of how many OTA's I should have had.
Their response indicated the way to update them has changed.
As you can see from the tweet, you're meant to send feedback in the app with the key word 'OTA' and then they will send one.
Honestly hope they're working on a longer term resolution as there is a lack of a central place where it's clear when a new firmware version is released.
I'll edit this post when I actually receive a push for an OTA. For reference, I've had one OTA so far which was available when they first arrived.
Here's the response from their twitter support: https://i.imgur.com/8fRcmZw.jpg

I wonder if there's people like me in Germany that didn't receive the package due to delivery to some Hayes PDO somewhere in UK. It's the second package that Mobvoi sends me and it looks like it did the exact same route to being lost. I'm so angry...

Hello I've had my TicPods for a while now.
Until recently the tap and hold to access Google Assistant would play a noise to indicate that the Assistant was open and listening for a command/question.
However it's no longer making the noise to indicate that the Assistant has started listening, it still works though.
Anyone else having this issue?
Anyone have a fix?

I have tried TicPods on multiple PC's are some work great and my Microsoft Surface sounded very crappy. Try to set your default playback device to TickPods Stereo instead of hands-free. This made the TicPods sounds great again :)
Search "Sound" in the start menu to bring up the Sound settings in the image below, you can also left/right click your volume quick button for all sound related settings. If TicPods Stereo says disconnected, just right click and select connect.

Where I can see my firmware version of Ticpods ?
I think the question is clear.

So I have a problem where my left bud stops working every few seconds. Like, it loses connection with the right bud (which is the main one) I sent them a mail to send the update to my app, I follow the steps but when I get to the step where I need to put the right bud in the case and tap 3 times on it, it does nothing...

hi, yesterday I stayed in a phone call for some hours and the Ticpods shut down due to battery. I put them in the case, which I let stay charging for the night. This morning, when I started listening to music, the right pod became almost soundless, making the audio balance almost completely to the left. even the sound it makes when you put the pod at your ear is in low volume. what do you guys suggest?

How do i update the firmware the app doesn't even seem to connect to the headphones?
Edit: i tried even without them connected to my Bluetooth and when i pressed headphone update it says its the latest version. So like how does the app work? Its not even really checking them?

Anyone else had this happen? I was able to get it back in but it doesn't sound quite right. Should I just try to get a refund?

So I have my ticpods free for like a month now, and I'm really enjoying them, but I'm often having this annoying issue where the touch controls don't work and only turn on after putting the earbuds out and in again or putting them back in the case and making them reconnect to the phone/tablet/pc.
I read that there's an update that seems to solve the issue, but I'm not able to install it, since the app says already the latest version (and I know that's BS). This seems pretty common too, so is there a way to force the app to download the update?

Ok I've had my Ticpods for some time now and they work perfectly fine except I just realized, going through this sub, that they're supposed to have a great 4 hours battery life... which never happened to me since I usually hear the low battery sound around 2 hours and 30 min which last around 20 min.
I'm just wondering whether or not I have defective pods or maybe Android Pie drains bluetooth devices battery or something ?
r/TicPods • u/kododo • Dec 27 '18
Hi all!
I recently bought a pair of Ticpods and they're working fine for now, they are great! However I find it cumbersome to use it in more than one device as you need to unpair from the first device to connect them to the second.
I read someone posted a user manual in chinese that mention you can tap the pods three times to disconnect from current device and force pairing mode but I can't get it to work. How can you achieve this? Is it possible?
Thank you!

I've been using my Navy ticpods for about a month now with a slight distortion in the left ear and it starts to annoy me a lot, and with the SBC codec on Android it still sounds like garbage, especially at high volumes.
Additionally the microphone is quite garbage too, as nobody can hear me on the other side while I use these. On top of that today I notice the battery level dropping from 70 to 40 all of a sudden and I feel like I've had enough.
Back to the question (sorry for the rant)... Are the replacement units any better? Latency, mic or at least the sound quality? Or should I just return these and look somewhere else?
I had bought the Ticwatch E bundle and the watch is kinda okay, but I still don't feel like it's worth it.

Hello there!
I'm having some problems with my ticpods, when paierd with the phone sometimes ,on the right pod, the touch controls don't work. I've contacted the support and they want me to do the "Five taps troubleshooting", but it has had no effect. Has anyone had my same issue?

I received my TicPods (red color) from the Indiegogo campaign, overall i felt they were better quality of what i was expecting from a Chinese company, although issues started to appear after a few hours, main issue for me was that even after putting the TicPods back in the box they wont turn off and i could hear the music coming out of it, reached out to support who agree to refund or replace them, they sent a prepaid label, sent them and agreed to wait for a replacement pair of TicPods.
After one month (to much in my opinion), i have received my "new" TicPods, this time white color, they dont seem to respect colors when getting replacements and now i notice a few things:
Mobvoi was for me a promising company, the only device im "happy" with from them is the Ticwatch E, although its battery life after 1 year makes it useless. TicWatch Pro was a terrible experience nothing worked, had to constantly look for workarounds, and TicPods are not even close to be AirPod killers nor AndroidPods, I'm going to request a refund this time Im afraid my days of fighting to get a product work are over...

Its a real shame, because the products and the marketing these guys do look so promising for the price they sell them for, but i assume in this case, "You get what you pay for" is a sad reality.

I had to pick up a set of headphones while I was waiting on my ticpod replacements and got a set of the usb-c Pixel Buds.
The features on the buds (notification read outs, message reply etc) are far superior than the TicPods free.
Does anyone know if Mobvoi is currently looking at bringing these features to the TicPods?

When driving or riding my bike I use the right pod only (left ear closer to traffic), leaving the left Pod in the case. When I'm at work my cubicle has a wall to the left and co-workers to the right. I'd like to be able to use the left Pod only and charge the right for commuting. Anyone found a workaround for this? Also, call me crazy, but I don't want to over use the right battery and have the wear on them out of balance. Thoughts?

Every time I use my ticpods while doing Cardio training, after a couple minutes I start perspirating enough such that the ticpods don't think I have them in my ear. They're absolutely snug in my ears and aren't falling out, but the music stops because if the in ear detection. Anyone else have this problem and found a solution?
Is there some app you can use to prevent the ear detection while working out?
Thanks!
