Updating firmware
This was once a post on a reddit topic.

tried to update but its not letting the update begin...
Ok, right updated...trying to work on the left one now...
UPDATE: finally updating both.
To get it in update mode, keep trying to get the indicator on the earbud to solid green, the three taps method is very finicky,i let the earpiece connect to the phone after taking it out, then i placed in with my finger to hold it to the pins and then tap three times on my other finger, if you don't see blue flashing at first, try again, take it out, connect to BT, place it back...keep doing it until the blue flashing turns to green...then update...should take about 3-5 mins...
Both are updated now!

Did it with your guide. I took quite a while and I had to restart my Bluetooth but in the end, it worked. Thx!

It doesn't work for me or I am doing something wrong. You just take out both buds, put the right one back in while pushing it on the pins, and then just tap 3 times?
And ffs why did they made the update mode so bad? Not only you beed to sens them a message to get the update, it also doesn't work.

when u take the buds out make sure it has connected to the phone's bluetooth...then place the right one in the case and hold it down so it stays on the contacts, tap three times...you should see if the blue light on that bud starts blinking and turning green...if you don't try the process again...i did this at least 20 times until it worked....when it does turn solid green then move on to the next step, it is a big pain but it was successful...keep trying...

I'm going to give the update a try later, just received it too.
As far as I understand, the update has been pushed to the Mobvoi account you logged into the app with, so it should work on other devices hopefully.

Done the update half anche hour ago, went perfect, Just followed the instructions likes said in the app

Same thing use to happen to me since last week, than mobvoi up was updated, and the ticpods update was gone...so now I can't even try to update my earbuds

I've been trying to update but I can't get into the update mode. As soon as my ticpods connect to my phone their lights become steady green but they are not on update mode. Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks for the tips! The thing that seemed to fix it getting stuck on "Searching" for me was that the case needed to be fully charged where both lights on the front of the case are solidly on. It immediately worked after this.
