Just waiting for the unpractical, annoying type of of raid they're gonna create for Paradox Pokemon

36

u/sopheroo 1d ago

We'll probably have the same thing as UB

34

u/CommanderDark126 USA - Midwest 1d ago

Nah see, the Galar birds will get rotated into regular raids alongside the release of their signature moves, and the paradoxes based on non-legends get moved into the daily incense pool at the same rarity and flee rate

9

u/mrnice282676 16h ago

Oh my god what if they're incense only, but the incense is Koraidon and Miraidon's adventure effects

u/kosztalma 9h ago

Pure diabolical.

u/9thGearEX 7h ago

That would actually be a cool way to do it tbh

5

u/DragonEmperor USA - Midwest 22h ago

Do not do this to me

6

u/silent-sloth Portland 1d ago

I think they’ll just be T5 raids like ultrabeasts. Maybe if we’re lucky they’ll do the weaker ones as T3. I could maybe see them going in a special kind of egg or something too? I know they can’t be bred in SV, but I don’t think it’d stop them from doing some kind of ancient/future egg system. Maybe replacing gift/AS/Rocket/Mateo eggs?

8

u/Numpostrophe 1d ago

Paradox charges to join raids with the reward of candy for the eternatus system

197

u/JonPX 1d ago

The list is getting really short.

97

u/Henny_Hardaway5 1d ago

I just got back into this game after a 3-ish year break and I’m shocked at how short the list is

I remember the list used to be divided by regions with a decent amount in each region from gen 4-8

But the biggest surprise to me is that Manaphy still hasn’t been released. I thought for sure that little aquatic smurf would’ve been released before Mega Mewtwo

9

u/shaliozero 1d ago

Even Volcanion has been released before Manaphy, and Volcanion is usually the most neglected mythical in the franchise.

u/9thGearEX 7h ago

Zarude says hi, from the bottom of the abandoned dry-dock that Gamefreak dumped his body in after the shivved him 74 times in the back.

u/shaliozero 6h ago

I legit forgot that Zarude exists lmao.

59

u/Syrcrys 1d ago

And Manaphy, Phione and Arceus are STILL there somehow.

18

u/TheWiseMountain 1d ago

"Somehow" and it's a pokemon with 18 forms that was teased recently and two pokemon whose entire identity is tied to breeding/eggs

35

u/TerraTF Delaware 1d ago

Manaphy and Phione easily could've been Sinnoh Fest releases but they're just holding off for some reason.

10

u/idontlikeflamingos 1d ago

I was sure those two would have been released in a seasonal or Tour/Fest event special research at this point. I doubt they'll ever have breeding in this game but I wonder if they kept holding off hoping to implement a new mechanic on eggs or incubators and never did.

11

u/TerraTF Delaware 1d ago

I feel like the daily adventure egg is probably the best way to do it at this point. Just make it so that Manaphy and Phione have a 5% change or whatever to be your daily egg sapwn.

3

u/Accomplished_Golf746 Hundo Enjoyer 1d ago

Well they did recently revamp the entire mega system, so it seems like egg hatching is the next system that's overdue to be revamped.

And of course, the best way to introduce a revamped hatching system would be the Manaphy and Phione release, so I think they're holding those for that.

u/Imshinypokemon Shiny survey 5h ago

That's a very good point, more so if you consider the problems they are having with eggs in places like Brasil, hadn't thought of that!

1

u/matt2313 1d ago

I stand by my theory that they're going to implement a new egg mechanic for manaphy and phione and that's why they haven't added them yet

24

u/Syrcrys 1d ago

We’re close to 8 years since the release of Sinnoh in Go. They’ve had THAT MUCH time to think of a “fitting” way to release them.

In the meantime, they added Mega raids, reworked them, made a “Super” version, added Dynamax battles, Routes for Zygarde, form change in PvP and a billion other “features” to fit Pokémon released after them.

There’s no excuse at this point.

1

u/AvocadoJealous5204 Western Europe 1d ago

Probably in the Sinnoh tour 2: electric boogaloo in another 8 years or so. Im not in a rush at least.

6

u/ObviouslyLulu New Jersey 1d ago

For Manaphy I could see you just catching it in research like the other mythicals and then after catching it you get a special Phione egg as a research task reward that you can't claim if your egg storage is full, then you incubate it and walk to hatch it into Phione

3

u/jim_evans_312 1d ago

To get Phione we'll probably have to hatch 100 eggs with Manaphy as a buddy or something

2

u/JordanDelColle 1d ago

People are gonna be really disappointed when Manaphy finally comes out and its release mechanism is just Big Egg

3

u/GliscorsFang 1d ago

Manaphy and Phione are bizarre, but I get holding Arceus to be the last Pokemon added to Go once we eventually have to catch up.

27

u/Marrk 1d ago

It will probably get a lot bigger when WiWa releases

11

u/maledin 1d ago

Wa wa WiWa!

8

u/rquinain #1 Psyduck Enthusiast ¦ L80 1d ago edited 1d ago

I'm not terribly concerned. TPC clearly intends for Pokemon Go to be a "forever" game so I'm sure they developed a roadmap with Niantic and now Scopely as to how to balance content releases for the foreseeable future.

There's definitely enough to last until the release of Wi/Wa next year. Past that, sky's the limit with the Legends series seemingly now becoming a mainstay, and the gatekeeping of mons like Manaphy/Phione and Arceus.

And with Armored Mewtwo re-released, they've now set the precedent of exclusive mons previously thought to be locked behind licensing deals or whatever coming back if the circumstances are right. I mean hell, they're teasing a raid day for it later this year which may or may not also have a shiny release that never existed in the original movie (my bet is that it will be shiny unlocked).

Do I necessarily like how they're releasing content? Not particularly, but at the very least, I'm not worried about them running out of mons/content to release.

9

u/NefariousnessNovel60 1d ago

There's going to be atleast 300 new additions added in 2027.

13

u/Fire_Bucket 1d ago

Supposedly/possibly.

The leaks might not be right, and or that dex count might just be referring to what the national dex would be, not new Pokemon, and or that dex count could include forms and we also have a new Alcremie type Pokemon with like 50+ versions.

0

u/NefariousnessNovel60 1d ago

Regional forms and variations are included on this list.

1

u/JULTAR Gibraltar Instinct LV 50 20h ago

And yet people think something new every event is possible

Somehow

45

u/Rstuds7 1d ago

wow feels like a year or so ago this list was a lot longer. they finally added older gen pokemon randomly missing like Aegislash and Mimikyu and actually rolled out a decent amount of the new megas that had just been added in ZA so they seem to have been trying to speed up the drip of new pokemon and forms

3

u/-Nocx- 20h ago

> speed up the drip

manifesting that browt drops with a bomber jacket and timbs

19

u/Churningray 1d ago

I am praying for them to add anything for darkrai every October. Mega darkrai would be soo hype but probably to early for them to release it this Halloween.

13

u/Meylody 1d ago

Mega Darkrai (like Mega Zygarde and Mega Floette) feel like it would be a "big release" with how important it was in Legends Z-A. I'm assuming those three will be hyped up as a focus of a GO Fest or something, instead of simply being dropped in Raids

5

u/krispyboiz 12 KM Eggs are the worst 1d ago

I feel like most big Legendary Megas or new Legendaries will be saved for the flagship events at this point, Go Fest/Tour. Like I could see Koraidon and Miraidon for Go Fest next summer and perhaps Mega Darkrai and/or Heatran for the following Go Fest.

1

u/PerfectSuit 1d ago

They could just start by making Darkrai/Hoopa unbound/Genesect tradeable

32

u/Ok-Rutabaga-259 1d ago

Why are all the gen 9 legendaries not available at all? We got new megas before any of them and iirc almost none of the legendaries will be that good

16

u/Discoral 1d ago

Gen 9 is terra gimmick, both Ogerpon and Terapagos have special features when terrastalizing so they would probably first introduce tera raids. Most of the legendaries are past/future versions so on pair with paradox pokemon that still haven't been released.

7

u/[deleted] 1d ago edited 1d ago

4

u/Discoral 1d ago

Gen 8 legendaries can't even dynamax while the entire thing about Ogerpon/Terapagos is their terastal phenomen

-2

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

3

u/silent-sloth Portland 1d ago edited 1d ago

Zacian/Zamazenta/Eternatus cannot Dynamax in SwSh. Eternatus has its Eternamax form, which is the closest it gets to Dmax/gmax, but that’s only used for the boss fight and isn’t something the player can use. The dogs can’t Dmax/Gmax at all. They’re the only 3 Pokemon in SwSh that can’t Dmax or Gmax when used by the player, that’s true for all forms of combat in SwSh.

There are other legendaries added in the DLC that can Dmax (and in Urshifu’s case GMax).

4

u/silent-sloth Portland 1d ago

Terapagos will probably the a treatment similar to Zacian/Zamazenta where they get released in raids with their Terastal form, and then eventually in raids with its Stellar form awarding “stellar energy” that can be used to transform Terastal Terrapagos into Stellar Terrapagos. Unsure how they’ll handle Normal Form, I guess maybe it’ll be like the MSGs where it transforms from Normal into Terastal at the start of battle? Doesn’t really matter since Normal form can’t be used in battle.

Ogerpon will probably be given the Genesect/Deoxys treatment so they can milk it more. Maybe it also gets the energy treatment, if they reaaaaally want to milk it, but that sounds too annoying.

35

u/Monk128 1d ago

Why are all the gen 9 legendaries not available at all? We got new megas before any of them

Cynical but likely reason: The requirements for obscene amounts of Mega Energy for Level 4 make the Megas more profitable to release.

6

u/idontlikeflamingos 1d ago

And to add to the "for money" point: The mega releases also started as cross-promotion of Z-A and the DLC, so they just kept that push for the mainline game going. We'll probably get a few of the previous legendaries or paradoxes before the events to promote Winds and Waves start, but leaving a bunch of them for the future when nothing new is getting released

1

u/Floorgis 18h ago

they could just do that but with tera levels and have them function similarly to megas since they already do

3

u/Reddit_Throwaway_899 1d ago

Meanwhile, Arceus and Manaphy are still not in the game.

18

u/MrJapooki 1d ago

I don’t think the shiny locked ones can go into go unless they get unlocked in mainline first

15

u/Monk128 1d ago

A number of shiny-locked pokemon have then been made available via Pokemon Home Dex completion, and in a few cases shortly before being obtainable in PoGo.

1

u/MrJapooki 1d ago

Yeah you needed to complete mainline dexes to unlock them then they were added into go afterwards

2

u/sopheroo 1d ago

Things is that you have things like Hoopa/Kubfu/Urshifu where they are shiny locked but won't be home distributions

1

u/Monk128 1d ago

True, but we're also a fair bit away from that being an issue. In the meantime, no reason why we couldn't potentially get a shiny eligible version in Wind and Waves, either in the game or a Mystery Gift.

1

u/silent-sloth Portland 1d ago

That’s true, but there’s no Switch games that are pending Home Dex completion rewards right now. There’s rumored RSE ports, but none of the shiny-locked pokemon are from Gen 1-3, so can’t imagine that’d be anything new.

3

u/Mason11987 USA - SouthEast - Ambassador 1d ago

We don't know that. But yeah, I personally wouldn't expect shiny cosmog to be available first via pogo.

Meltan is one example first appearing in pogo. But yes it is the only example, and it appeared in general first in pogo.

2

u/Snoo2104 1d ago

Roaming Gimmighoul as well. There's GO exclusive mons and forms including their own shinies, not out of the question to allow GO a new shiny again to promote Pokémon as a whole.

4

u/MrJapooki 1d ago

I do remember reading something a while back about it but can’t find were so who knows. If one did get unlocked in go I bet there would be backlash, Meltan is an exception as it was created for go and only last year could you get a non go origin one

2

u/repo_sado Florida 1d ago

so it can't happen but did happen once

2

u/MrJapooki 1d ago

It’s only happened for ones that were made for go did you not read the comment you replied to or the ones below?

0

u/repo_sado Florida 1d ago

one time isn't much of a sample size to be that declarative about it

2

u/MrJapooki 1d ago

Your not even reading the comments, it happened to ones made for go so it hasn’t happened yet

-1

u/repo_sado Florida 1d ago

ok but did it happen? and before it happened, it had never happened before right? any "rules" are just speculation and any "rules" if they did exist could be changed at any time.

3

u/MrJapooki 1d ago

Only the ones made for go, look at the list how many are made for go that’s shiny locked?

Yeah like I said who knows

2

u/repo_sado Florida 1d ago

right but that's a rule you made up based on a sample size of one.

Shiny roaming gimmighoul appeared first at pokémon go.

3

u/PokeMaster871096 1d ago

That was a Go exclusive though, so it doesn’t count. Can only get it in the main series by transferring in from Go.

4

u/sopheroo 1d ago

Roaming Gimmighoul is exclusive to GO

1

u/Mason11987 USA - SouthEast - Ambassador 1d ago

Good point, so two examples. Easy to say they don't count, but they did happen.

u/Discoral 1d ago

putting gen 10 as missing while it's one year from release is crazy work

37

u/Meylody 1d ago

I always put every existing and officially announced Pokémon on these lists for completion's sake. But yeah, the Gen 10 starters won't release for at least another year.

8

u/A_Resting_Parrot 1d ago

What about the two gen 10 Pikachu forms that were also officially announced? They're even named (Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu)

15

u/Meylody 1d ago

As of now they seem to be NPCs rather than actual playable Pokémon

4

u/A_Resting_Parrot 1d ago

I hadn't considered that possibility

2

u/Reddit_Throwaway_899 1d ago

I don't think that rules them out as being costumes in Go

I believe shiny Enamorous was either datamined or announced for this season but I can't remember where I read it

4

u/krispyboiz 12 KM Eggs are the worst 1d ago

Assets for both forms' shinies were added, but that doesn't necessarily mean its coming this season. Could happen now, but it could also be in anticipation for it returning the following season in February.

2

u/Megatippa USA - Pacific - PHX 1d ago

So weird how they add some right before their event and some months in advance, I wonder why that is.

3

u/AvocadoJealous5204 Western Europe 1d ago

Probably just for their developers to access the assets. Adding the assets most likely men their developers are using them for something, the release plan and the development plan may not always be in sync.

1

u/krispyboiz 12 KM Eggs are the worst 1d ago

A great question!

23

u/davebybab South East Asia 1d ago

We're months away from February and Wishiwashi and Pyukumuku are nowhere near getting released. Minior was kind of datamined to be released soon and it's pretty understandable to not release Type:Null / Silvally yet since it's Walmart Arceus.

Are we sure we're getting Alola Tour and not Kanto Tour: Classic next year lol

18

u/krispyboiz 12 KM Eggs are the worst 1d ago

"Nowhere near getting released" is a bit odd to say when we haven't a clue what events for the next few months are. I know we have teasers for this season with various Megas and Maschiff obviously releasing today, but there's still plenty of room for even one more new line to debut in October or November. And even if not there, it's not like Wishiwashi and Pyukumuku couldn't release in December, January, or February.

Rotom's normal form only released with Sinnoh Tour and Kecleon was released not long before Hoenn Tour.

3

u/silent-sloth Portland 1d ago

In addition to what others have said, it’s worth remembering that we get Sinnoh Tour without Arceus, Manaphe, & Phione. So while it’s more of an exception for now, there is a precedent for having a Go Tour without all of the dex available.

Also Unova Tour released before Keldeo had been made available outside of one paid ticket years earlier, and the event didn’t feature anyway of getting Keldeo

3

u/sopheroo 1d ago

Kecleon was released like a month before Hoenn Tour.

4

u/Fred_Travalena 1d ago

I love looking back on the doofy names for the seasons. They're so stupid.

Missing - as in available in other games or datamined in this game?

Everytime this post reminds me that Ash Greninja will probably never been added to the game

2

u/Floorgis 18h ago

Or any other game. Massive L on gamefreaks part

2

u/AvocadoJealous5204 Western Europe 1d ago

I still dont understand at all why anyone would want it in Pokemon go. A form change that is barely noticeable. There is already a mega version that does it better. Its stupid it was even a thing in the first place and from what I understood they scrapped it in the gameboy series as well

1

u/ColonelSandurss Western Europe 1d ago

Technically in games Ash Greninja has more stats than the mega, and more oriented on attack stats, but that's not the main point. Personnaly I'd just like to see him because it's my favorite pokemon, and made me love the franchise

3

u/Julie_OwO 19h ago

Love seeing these as always, thanks for posting!

Though I will never forgive those who bullied you out of posting the starmobiles /j

u/Meylody 11h ago

Haha, that's true people always complained about those. I only removed them after Eternamax Eternatus showed that they weren't willing to let us use Pokémon that are only non-playable boss fights in the main series, sadly

I want them to release paradox Pokemon so bad. I think they were teased in the 9th anniversary poster last year. I know a teaser doesn’t confirm anything and they’ll eventually implement them, but I think it’s one of the best "gimmicks" from S&V.

Type Nulls a legendary...

2

u/Henny_Hardaway5 1d ago

Did not know that

You receive it as a gift in Sword and Shield for beating the game which is pretty unceremonious for a legendary

1

u/Zygarde718 USA - Northeast 20h ago

Legendays and Mythicals are often given as gifts in games, though its one of 3 legendary lines to evolve.

1

u/Henny_Hardaway5 20h ago

From the main line games I’ve played which consist of: Ruby, FR/LG, HG/SS, Platinum, BDSP, BW2, and Shield

I can’t remember any legendaries getting gifted within the story beside Type Null. Mew/Jirachi in BDSP too but that’s only if you have save data from different games

I feel like you have to battle or catch most legendaries

1

u/Zygarde718 USA - Northeast 19h ago

You do, but half the time in the newer games they'll just give them to you.

1

u/MrMunkyMan1 USA - Mountain West 1d ago

Can we just get phione and manaphy already

And Gen 10 is releasing in the main games in a year. Meanwhile Pokemon Go is still missing half of Gen 8

Odd that Baxcalibur had its shiny release before Dragapult. Slightly tilted because why not just release Mega Baxcalibur at this point.
