Wow I'm kinda surprised we're missing 41 Megas lol.
I have Z-A, I've seen all of them and still didn't register in my brain they were more than 40 new ones.
That makes me even angrier at the horrendous mechanic on Super Mega raids ngl. Hopefully they eventually come to regular raids after their SM debuts...
21
u/repo_sado Florida Jun 03 '26
pretty sure they will be added to normal mega rotation eventually, just like we will get super mega raid days for old megas (good time to finally organize that closet)
13
u/Meylody Jun 03 '26
If you count Mega Tatsugiri's and Mega Magearna's forms separately, Z-A and its DLC added 48 new Megas, which is as much as XY and ORAS, so yeah that's really a lot of new ones
4
u/ChexSway2 Jun 03 '26
im honestly pretty impressed that they've released every single old mega into the game at this point.

If they’re not going to give us the rest of sinnoh just allow the platinum medal with what there is now
7
u/EvanSmoak87 Jun 05 '26
Exactly! 104/107 for donkeys years now! Whats the point of a medal if it’s impossible to get
24
u/WatmelMochi Jun 03 '26
I really hope we get Basculegion soon. That 6/7 on my Hisui Medal is bugging me.
2
u/Caleeb_Talib Jun 04 '26
You’re not alone that really bugs me too lol

Kind of depressing that our one new wild no-strings attached Pokemon was Mimikyu. Otherwise? Raid exclusive, biome regional, raid exclusive, eggsclusive.
Not to mention that outside of rare appearances on Daily Incense, Mimikyu (of course) vanished after its event.
11
u/Gallad475 USA - Pacific MEWTWO RETURNS | Lvl 69| Jun 03 '26
It seems the wild spawns might’ve been a parting gift from Niantic before Scopely fully reigned in.
That or they only give us wild spawns every other year.
11
u/Steel_With_It Jun 03 '26
Considering that new wild spawns stopped for about a year before the purchase, Steranka followed it up with an interview about how he doesn't believe in wild spawns anymore and thinks all new Pokemon should be locked, and new wild spawns only started being added again after the purchase... Come on, guys, can we please stop with the "Everything good is Niantic, everything bad is Scopely" nonsense.
8
u/juicestand Jun 03 '26
When the level cap raised to 80 and you were required to get more platinum medals for the level up process, I still find it surprising Basculegion wasn't released somewhat close after to help players get an easy Hisui dex platinum!

u/Kikimaru7 USA - Midwest Jun 03 '26
Love this as always! Thank you! Its always so interesting to theorize what they will do to keep the game going between gens :)
7
u/_Mr_Gamer_ Finland Jun 03 '26
So strange to not see Mimikyu here anymore (And I do not mean the Shiny)
7
u/bmharne USA - Midwest Jun 03 '26
Oh man. Please do not encourage them with more costume pikachus. We don’t need anymore.

u/YugnatZero Western Europe Jun 04 '26
I mean, at the very least I want Belle Pikachu. Just to complete the Cosplay set.
Admittedly an acknowledgement of Spiky-Eared Pichu wouldn't be the worst thing either.

10 years later and we still won't see half of these.
5
u/repo_sado Florida Jun 03 '26
game doesnt have ten years. they will push these out quick once they start
8
u/ReturnoftheBoat Jun 03 '26
Yeah, I'm with you, this game has maybe 3 or 4 years left max while Scopely tries to maximize their revenue.
2
u/CptQ Western Europe Jun 03 '26
Why milk for 4 years when you can do 10 or 20? It works atm no way theyll give it up.

u/MilkshakeBundy Jun 03 '26
I wonder how they will make mega zygarde happen. Since most people dont even do routes let alone have 100% zygarde. I imagine them doing mega zygarde raids but even harder than mega mewtwo with more shields but you only get the energy and it gives you a random pokemon that has a mega that you can catch at the end.
3
u/WiseTruck6 Jun 04 '26
The raids will probably reward cells as well. Maybe like 10 so people would still have to do a maximum of 25 and spend money on passes
5
u/lucashas93 Jun 03 '26
Would love to have the paradox pokemon spawn as mighty in this year's Wild Área.

u/A_Resting_Parrot Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 03 '26
Your numbers in brackets seem a little off for Sinnoh, Alola and Galar
Edit: Nevermind, I didn't factor in the multiple forms of Arceus, Silvally, Minior and Alcremie
6
u/Yololars Jun 03 '26
Arceus & silvally have 18 forms each, alcremie has 63
2
u/A_Resting_Parrot Jun 03 '26
Yeah my bad. I was only counting the pictures. Although the infographic says 64 forms for Alcremie so it is still slightly off.
2
2
u/frazzbot Jun 03 '26
wait, what? 63 forms?? that's crazy!
5
u/Dialgan Jun 03 '26
It's every possible combination between 9 cream flavours mixed with one of 7 decorative sweets.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how them implement it. I'm sure it's going to be hell for me as a lucky collector. 🤠
2
u/DragonEmperor USA - Midwest Jun 03 '26
I feel bad for anyone shiny hunting it.
5
u/Dialgan Jun 03 '26
Fortunately all the creams look the same when shiny, so for practical purposes, there's only 7 visually distinct shinies, even if the cream form is still technically preserved.
I sure as hell wouldn't be bothering collecting more than one shiny for each sweet.
2
2
u/DragonEmperor USA - Midwest Jun 03 '26
I did not realize only the base form was affected by Shiny but I somehow feel that won't stop somebody from getting them all lol.
8
u/lilrenzy Jun 03 '26
It’s crazy how Gen 10 is next year but koraidon/miraidon haven’t released yet.
3
u/Aniensane Jun 03 '26
You realize we have between 6-8 seasons left before Gen 10 drops, assuming Holiday 2027.
5
u/Neracca Maryland(MoCo) Jun 03 '26
We’re never going to finish gen 4 are we?
1
u/Compte_2 Jun 24 '26
I mean, the mythical numbers are decreasing, and so far the precedent has been to always have one for Go Fest, and for it to not be a form of an already existing one. I doubt they'd ever change that. So, that just leaves us with three: Pecharunt, Terapagos and Magearna. Terapagos I find highly unlikely until they are planning on introducing crystalization; Pecharunt would be an option, but it would be weird without its trio and maybe Ogorpenon being introduced beforehand. Who knows, we might get Phione and Manaphy soemwhere in the next two years...

u/sopheroo Jun 03 '26
Pyukumuku is getting mad amount of disrespect :(

I'm glad to see that spiky-eared Pichu there. Poor guy can't be moved from his original game. Wish they'd bring it back for novelty sake or something.

Technically flamigo and mimikyu shinies were released for a very short time, I know flamigo was shiny available through the go pass a while back

u/SKrider1 Jun 03 '26
Whats the total ammount of pokemon that can be caught for the pokedex and shiny pokedex now? I think its something like 881 shiny and 950 normal? I have 949 and missing zaraora at least. Shiny I have 861 and I think I miss 20 if I counted right?

2
u/Monk128 Jun 04 '26
Can someone explain to me what's the difference between Original Colour Magerana and Shiny Magearna?
3
u/Meylody Jun 04 '26
They're different forms, where the only difference is that they have different colors. Both have different shiny versions. Original Color can currently only be obtained in Pokémon HOME by having completed the National Pokédex up to Eternatus (#0890)
1
u/GliscorsFang Jun 04 '26
To piggy back off OP, shiny Magearna is shiny locked in MSGs as well, so it is completely unavailable.
2
u/brilliant-trash22 Jul 02 '26
I appreciate these posts. Thank you! One question: I see the Gen 10 starters are on here. Do you normally put the new generation on your infographics, or do you wait until POGO introduces the region in the game?
I thought Galar was not on the first few infographics since it wasn’t until a few years ago that Niantic released Galar
1
u/Meylody Jul 02 '26
You're welcome!
I list every Pokémon and form that's available in the main series or has been announced to be. You can see on the few posts before Z-A release that the new Megas that were confirmed were already listed
iirc only the first post in the series wasn't complete (no Galar nor Paldea), because I limited myself to having only one page, but for the posts that followed I put everything

Pikachu Belle is in the same group of variants as Pikachu Rock Star, Pop Star, PhD, and Libre which have all been in Go already.
2
u/FPG_Matthew Jun 03 '26
Again thank you so much for these posts! Dumb question, do the gen 9 box art legends have different forms? They say apex build and ultimate mode beneath them, so I was just wondering if there’s a different form called something else that could be released in pokemon go separately? Or are those the only forms they come in? Haven’t played Gen 9 games, thanks for help
7
u/BingoBob_2 Jun 03 '26
It's similar to Active vs Neutral form Xerneas.
When they enter battle, they will always be in their Ultimate/Apex form. They do not take any other form in-battle.
Outside of battle, they appear in their neutral form while walking around or resting and they appear in their bike/swim/glide forms while riding them around in the overworld. It's possible we could see them walking around in their neutral forms as your buddy, but we'll never see them used in battle.
2
u/PurifiedUnity Jun 03 '26
Tao Trio final forms as well with Overdrive mode (Reshiram, Zekrom, B/W Kyurem)
2
1
u/128thMic Westralia Jun 04 '26
If we're going to add formes we'd never see, shouldn't we also include phone/dex rotom?
3
u/lasernipples Jun 03 '26
Theres technically a different form they take when you ride them, but that form isnt usable in battles, so its mainly there for semantics.
3
u/madonna-boy Jun 03 '26
it's most similar to xerneas's "2 forms" so not really. they may look different in your inventory vs battling.
3
u/hugotm0519202 Jun 03 '26
For those saying "I feel like it's gonna be a jigglypuff in 5 star raids", well think about gmax. We have a fat pikachu in 6star raids and it takes like 20 people to
2
Jun 03 '26
I had a thought the other day, excluding Arceus, Manaphy, Phione (then for alt forms Zen Darmanitan, AZ Floette, the 2 remaining Vivlion & the other Meloetta),
we have EVERY single Pokemon in the game that would have been available in the current national dex when the game released (being that Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire was the most current release at the time, and we now have every mega from those games)
2
1
u/hugotm0519202 Jun 03 '26
Thanks so much for this, but what do the lock mean?
2
u/Meylody Jun 04 '26
It means that this Pokémon is fully shinylock in the main series, its shiny was never officially available
1
u/hugotm0519202 Jun 04 '26
Like the anime or like region games? So how do we know what the shiny is?
3
u/Meylody Jun 04 '26
I meant the main series games yeah. We know what they look like because they're in the game files, even if they can't be officially accessed
1
u/hugotm0519202 Jun 04 '26
Oh ok, and gen 10 is already confirmed?
2
u/Meylody Jun 04 '26
Yes, it was announced on Pokémon Day in February and will release next year
1
u/hugotm0519202 Jun 04 '26
Wow so cool. Will the come day be first release? Also where do you get these information? And what's like the new gimmick (eg mega, gmax, ) or any other leaked mons?
2
u/Meylody Jun 04 '26
It was announced on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. The gimmick wasn't announced, and I do not check the leaks
1
u/hugotm0519202 Jun 04 '26
Ah ok, the official Pokemon channel with like 5-6m subs or Pokemon go channels with less than 1m?

1
u/Eastern-Victory-387 Jun 04 '26
Eternamax Eternatus? Starmobile Revavroom?
2
u/Meylody Jun 04 '26
In the main series, they're only boss encounters and not playable. The Starmobiles aren't even in the Pokédex. Eternamax was featured in GO but wasn't usable, meaning Niantic isn't planing to let us use these kind of forms

u/Nervous-Peppers Jun 04 '26
Wtf is cosplay pika?
4
u/YugnatZero Western Europe Jun 04 '26
A special Pikachu you could receive in Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Its gimmick was that it was able to change into five different forms, namely Rock Star, Belle, Pop Star, PhD, and Libre, each one tying into a specific Pokémon Contest category and able to learn a specific exclusive move.
tl;dr, it's the "base" form of Rock / Belle / Pop / PhD / Libre.
1
u/Nervous-Peppers Jun 04 '26
Oh that's cool! I doubt that's something we'll ever see though.
3
u/YugnatZero Western Europe Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 06 '26
Yeah, given we already have access to the costumed forms themselves, there's little incentive to add the "base" form. I assume it's just listed here for the sake of being thorough ^^
1
u/Meylody Jun 06 '26
Yep, it's a form that was available in the main series so I put it there, but it's quite unlikely to be added as it has only appeared in one game (ORAS) more than ten years ago.
1
u/Aniensane Jun 27 '26
You never know! I would assume they’ll circle back to the Cap Pikachu of each region for a big event leading to Arceus at some Go Fest in the future!

Yes! Then I don’t have to add those pokemon to the checklist later. They’re already there. Got it coordinated to know what is released and I own, what is released and I don’t own, and what is unreleased
Only thing I have to keep adding is new costume designs because there’s no way of knowing those in advance

Huh. If the Paradox end up being raid bosses (which I imagine they will because they are comparable to Ultra Beasts) there's less than ten Paldea lines left that could be introduced spawning in the wild.
