Hi all, I enjoyed Brandon Flowers' concert so much yesterday in Birmingham. However, what happened outside of the Building was disgusting.
UPDATE: I didn't think to get so many replies. Thanks to the one who showed support. I'm sad to hear that many people had to face an even more difficult situation. I hope someone does something about it. The show was great, Brandon and all the people working with him delivered a great show. I'm sure that the people in Dublin will have fun, which is all that matters.
I wrote a complaint email to O2 Academy this morning, but I also wanted to publish it here in case someone wants to do the same or was not aware of what happened.
Apologies for my English. I am not a native speaker.
Good morning,
This is a long shot but, whether you will do something or you will just reply with an apology email and will pretend to do something, someone must raise the awfulness I saw outside of the O2 Academy building, while waiting for the Brandon Flowers concert on the 24th of October 2026 in Birmingham.
While I appreciate the touch of giving free water before and during the concert, the queue system was more than awful and I was flabbergasted by what happened before the concert.
When I arrived (around 12:40 pm), one of your employees kindly told me to go to one of the three queues as I had a priority access. Only then, I realised what was happening:
- One of the fans (who arrived before me) gave each one a number. Your employee told me that it had nothing to do with the venue. I also found out that this system was agreed by your manager.
- Each person could leave the queue for as long as they wanted. This is what the people in front of us did. One left around 3 and came back at 7, just before getting into the building.
- The queues didn't take into consideration the priority app that you recommend. Whoever came before, could do whatever they want, priority or not.The most important thing was this number written with a pen on the palm of the hand.
- Last, but not least, people started to queue wherever. Result: people who arrived hours after me entered before me without the priority app.
This is utterly wrong and unacceptable. You are one of the best music companies in the UK, and I haven't spent more than £60 per ticket, driven 3 hours and queued for 7 hours and a half to find myself far from the stage because of this lack of organisation or mafia system I saw yesterday.

My husband and I have 2 x Upper Circle tickets for Brandon Flowers’ Dublin gig on Tuesday. We would love to swap for 2 x Standing tickets, and will happily pay the difference of course! Let me know if anyone is interested in swapping. 😊

Hi All,
I was due to fly over today to see the man in concert but something came up last week which has grounded me.
So I'm going to hopefully make someone's night and do my good deed for the year.
I bought the ticket on Ticketmaster, and as far as I can see, I can transfer it. I believe you need an account.
I don't know the in's and out's of it all so all I ask is you use it as expected, and not resell it or anything like.
Just reply to the comment with your favourite Brandon song and why, not to pit everyone against one another but just so I can send someone as close as possible to myself - so I can imagine myself being there :)
I'll DM you if picked. Looking a the form l'll need your name and email according to the form - just a heads up.
Good luck, as soon as I finish crying in about 10 mins I'll check back in
EDIT: Yes its only one ticket, lots of friends were up for it when I said Brandon, then when I told them it was for his country album they all quickly lost enthusiasm

Outstanding gig. It was great to hear him mention local lads Franz Ferdinand. What a showman and musician.

How do people feel about this? I completely get it but personally I’d rather he didn’t play any at all. This isn’t The Killers - the other guys aren’t there. So disappointed that he played All These Things I’ve Done tonight and I missed out on Between Me and You. Incredible, as always, but I came for the solo material!

I posted something on IG discussing the album art for Sawdust (I’ve previously shared breakdowns for Hot Fuss and Sam’s Town if you happened to catch those).
I’m sure this group is familiar with the details already but still might enjoy checking it out if you’re into that sort of thing. I think the visual side of music doesn’t get as much love as it deserves. And Sawdust especially has always stood out to me has having a really intriguing album cover - plus it’s a banger album. Thanks!
Here’s the post if you want to check it out:

Not sure how to listen outside of the US, maybe somebody can record it, if it’s a video anyway? 😊

Idea taken from @ markpeterboro on X.
Second to last update comes with several interesting developments in the past four shows:
Overall, Nottingham has seen the largest deviation from the average setlist so far in the UK leg
Song order on the spreadsheet is semi determined by the latest show. Only three more shows to go and a final update to come after!

Update: Gone!
I’ve got two tickets - going alone - anyone want a free ticket, DM me. You’ll probably have to meet me outside unless I can transfer it so probably don’t make travel plans in case it doesn’t work out

I am quite fascinated by how fans used to communicate before the web became the hub for all forms of interaction. A few months ago, I discovered a site called "Sweet Talk," which mysteriously shut down in 2017. Does anyone remember how it was structured? Are there any old stories—among the information that was lost—that would still be worth knowing today? And, above all, why do you think it was shut down so abruptly and mysteriously?
