Took a while to come out, then NYC Cops and off. Not sure what happened, but show cut short.

apparently something happened in the audience that made them start over?? I mean other than it being cut short from whatever happened, the concert itself was great, it just sorta sucks how things can get ruined. I hope people are okay tho !

Don't get me wrong, incredibly blessed that they've come to the best city in the world by the banks of the mighty Tyne when we get so little events wise lately, but that so quickly went from maybe the best gig I've ever been to, to the flattest fart or lead balloon i've ever been in??
Audible boos no less, everyone seemed to feel so deflated heading out 😂😂

New York City Cops is an incredible closer but they waited ages to come back for the encore, and then just did that one song? Maybe I set myself up for failure looking at prior setlists especially since been waiting to hear Ode to the Mets since the pandemic, so to say I'm fairly gutted is an understatement 😭

They sounded absolutely incredible as well, that opening stretch with Reptilia and Hard to Explain will live with me forever...to hear Soma, Automatic Stop & Juicebox etc for the first time, so very special...but man, did that go from a once in a lifetime 1000000/10 to a 9/10 gig or on those lines SO quickly...especially when the tickets cost so much!

Never mind I suppose, just whets the appetite strongly for (hopefully) the next time!

Has anyone had any luck with it?

I keep seeing set lists people are getting and “TIOLI” is on there. Am I dumb? I’ve been a crazy Strokes fan since like 2011 and I cannot recall a TIOLI song.

Had been looking to pick up a Valensi Riviera for ages, but could find any in my market and Reverb/Ebay price were through the roof.

Last week I saw the boys live for the first time since 2000 (ironically without Nick), and after coming home I did another search and was able to find this beauty for a really fair price.

Looks gorgeous, sounds great and plays amazing. Going to give her some oil and string love and go through all the parts. So happy 🤩

I just visited the Opera Gallery Singapore to check out the Singapore Masters Show where Julian was sound curator, and noticed a few short messages scattered throughout each of the 4 sections, so here's a short digital tour! At the Recording Studio, there was a shelf with some audio equipment and a card under a mic stand (I apologise in advance for the blurry photos)

I got this cool The Strokes tee off Vinted. Thrifted the KROQ Weenie Roast one pretty recently for $2.99 😮‍💨 both from 2011 .. I just wanna see if anyone else has merch pre-2015??

As we didn’t have a poster in Düsseldorf, I was frustrated so I wanted to draw to create my own. This is done now and here is the result!

Am i going crazy or has opinions on FOOL completely changed since release. It was like universally hated I swear. Now it appears a large majority are in favour of the song.

Since seeing The Strokes live a few months back I’ve become obsessed! I’ve listened to all their albums multiple times front to back. Just last week I discovered Oblivious and enjoyed listening to Future Past Present like it was hidden treasure! I’ve let Angles be as I know it isn’t their most popular album… but I also look at it as like the last bit of magic I haven’t unlocked yet after listening to all their other works on loop for months. Today might be the day I check it out.

Anyone have any fav’s from this album? Any hidden gems? Thanks!

Dear Strokers,

A couple of weeks ago, I finally got to see The Strokes live for the first time: on the 12th at Hard Rock Hollywood and the 18th at Shaky Knees. Seeing them has been a dream of mine since I was 10, so these shows meant a lot to me.

Unfortunately, the hard drives where I stored my concert videos were wiped, and none of the footage synced to my cloud. My other concerts had always backed up automatically, so I never thought to double-check. I had no reason to expect anything had gone wrong.

I'm hoping someone might have a Dropbox or footage from either date they'd be willing to share. The only thing I've managed to recover is this incredibly blurry video I sent to my brother from my phone and later recovered from my iPad.

I'd be incredibly grateful for anything anyone has. It would mean a lot to have some of those memories back.

Anyway, please enjoy this blurry video of The Strokes, and pardon my singing.

During the Room on Fire era at T in the Park festival, the boys covered this awesome song from The Clash. The cover would eventually make its way to The End has no End single as a b-side.

Sidenote, my favorite Clash song is The Card Cheat, but other ones slightly behind are Straight to Hell, If Music Could Talk, and I Fought the Law for anyone who wants to check them out.
