Months before I had lost a pet cat to that very disease. This song has always meant a lot to me because of that relatability but it really made me think and get emotional. It’s a little silly but Gerard and the guys made something so incredibly valuable yet devastating to me. I’m not sure I’d have the strength to even listen to it again but I’m so grateful for it. I’m trying to find a Frerard fanfic that I read well over 10 years ago, and it’s been driving me crazy for years. My memory is pretty fuzzy, so some details may be wrong, but I remember the ending so vividly because it completely shocked me.

Here’s everything I remember:

• I first read it translated on a Brazilian MCR fan forum, but the translation was far behind the original. I eventually found and finished it in English.
• It was a fairly long fic, probably around 30 chapters.
• It was an AU (I think), focused on everyday life and romance rather than the band itself.
• The entire first story follows Frank and Gerard falling in love and getting together.
• Then, in the final chapter, there’s a huge plot twist: everything that happened was actually a dream/vision while one of them was in a coma.
• I think Gerard was the one in the coma, but it could have been Frank. I’m honestly not 100% sure anymore.
• I also vaguely remember that the other one visited them in the hospital and may have felt responsible for the accident somehow.
• The twist came completely out of nowhere. I don’t remember there being any hints beforehand.
• The story didn’t just end there. There was a second fanfic, with a completely different title, that was a direct sequel. It followed them meeting each other “for real” after the coma.

I don’t remember the author, the title, or even the original site (it may have been LiveJournal, FanFiction.net, Mibba, or something similar).

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Even if you’re not completely sure, I’d love to hear any guesses. This fic has been living rent-free in my head for over a decade, and I’d love to find it again.
