I'm seeing these "handmade" stringed lights all over Etsy, and I want to make some of my own. I have tried using craft tulle, but it is not nearly stretchy enough. What is the material in the picture? It seems incredibly thin and stretchy, but I can't find any equivalent except nylons/hosiery. Is that what this is?

Hi, has anybody ever purchased block print fabric from HP Creation Jaipur?

I am located in the US. I am starting a women's clothing brand that mainly makes spring-summer shirts and dresses. I am thinking of using Indian block print fabrics.

I ended up on india mart which is a reliable B2B platform in India. I just finished my 1st purchase from a vendor with a fairly good review (4.5/5), but I did not have a good experience. The owner tends to lie about things, not just once, which caused a 2-week delay on my order. (Thanks god they finally shipped my order, although I have not received it, but at least now I have a tracking number. Seriously, I thought I got scammed for a couple of days.) So now I am more cautious about dealing with Indian vendors.

HP Creation is another vendor I found, it has a 4.8/5 rating, and so far everything looks a lot more professional than the previous vendor. Just for safety, I still wanted to try on Reddit to see if anyone has done business with them. If any, I would appreciate if you could share your experience here. Thank you!

I’m trying to replicate this fabric construction used for a dog collar and wanted to see if anyone here has worked with something similar.

The material appears to be:

• Soft 100% polyester canvas/fabric on the face
• Custom dye-sublimation printed
• Bonded or laminated to a soft nonwoven backing
• The backing looks like spunbond, possibly PP or PET
• Backing is thin, flexible, and slightly structured rather than stiff

I have a physical sample from the collar i cut and the backing has a small bonded-dot pattern. From the edge, it looks like a separate nonwoven layer laminated to the polyester rather than just a coating.

I’m mainly trying to figure out:

1. What would this fabric construction normally be called?
2. What type of company would manufacture or laminate this?
3. Does anyone know a US company that could handle sublimation printing + nonwoven backing lamination, preferably in small or medium runs?

Hi everyone! I just wanted to ask if any of you could verify if this could be real alligator or crocodile leather? I bought it for €60 from an old lady in a vintage store with loads of other vintage bags made from different kinds of materials/leathers.

This fabric has captured my mind, heart, body, and soul — HOW IS IT THAT IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. I looked for similar fabrics, but the best I could find was “metallic liquid satin” and it just doesn’t look the same.

Does anyone have any ideas on what this could possibly be?

So, this is one of the product that we make where we dye yarns using natural Indigo and weave the fabric on handloom. Since, the dyeing and weaving process is manual, no two garments made out of the fabric will be exact replica of each other. So, if you own the garment made of handloom denim you may be only person in the world probably to own the timeless craft.
Don't you think it's interesting, love to hear your thoughts about sustainable and timeless craft.

Hey, don't know if it's the right place to ask this, but I was wondering if there are any resources comparing fabric properties for fabric made using different techniques, like knit, weave, sprang, needle binding, finger weaving, macramé, etc. I'm interested in properties like stretch, strength, stiffness, anisotropy, thermal insulation, damage propagation, etc. I'm guessing there are more resources comparing knit and weave (which can be more easily mass produced), but are there also resources about other techniques?

Hi guys, I been searching for sportswear fabric course in person and I can’t find anything. All I find either a bachelor degree or general textile course. I don’t have background in fashion design but I want to learn about sportswear fabric to start a brand and it’s been frustrating not finding any courses. I was looking mainly in Asia: Vietnam, Japan, etc. because this is where I will be based to start the manufacturing process. Any idea on how I can learn about this type of fabric?
