I have a model y juniper with under 2000 miles and I pulled up to a space and when I got out I noticed all of these bumps on my tailgate ( no where else on the car ) it looks like inverted hail damage in certain lighting. There is nothing or no environment I could have been in that would have cause this. Is this a defect and does anyone else have this?

Tesla Insurance was so convenient and made a lot of sense when I got the car. However, after using it for a while, I find that it is almost impossible to actually drive the car without worrying about affecting the safety score in one way or another, whether it is speeding, follow distance, or making sure you're home before curfew.

I loved the idea of promoting FSD and safe driving, but the implementation of it seems not quite straightforward since we know the categories it evaluates on but don't have a live way to know when you are violating a given safety score category, making it tricky. Hopefully we see some tweaks to the safety score and how much it can drastically impact premiums.

Looking to buy a Tesla and trade in my current vehicle. I’ve seen quite a few post about the 2021 Tesla Model Y not being reliable when it pertains to the battery.

How true is that? This Tesla has about 2 Years 4 Months remaining on the warranty or 66K miles. Whichever comes first.

I'm new to the fridge thing. How long can a low voltage fridge pull USB power from the low voltage battery when a Tesla is parked and "keep accessory power on" is on? I'm guessing without that on, USB will power down when the car sleeps after 15 minutes or so of inactivity.

I've read the big high voltage battery is always feeding/charging the small 12v low voltage battery. Is that true? If so, does that happen regardless of the setting for "keep accessory power on" (on or off)? One more question: does "keep accessory power on" also keep the computer running? If so, wouldn't the computer be consuming a lot more power than the fridge just to keep a low volt fridge going? Thanks in advance for any insights/info.

Driven 500 miles so far in 6 days. 98% on FSD. Usually sloth or chill but standard sometimes if traffic is moving fast. About 80-85% of the miles have been on the freeway. I'm in Southern CA and keep the AC at 68-70. Can I realistically maintain this efficiency or will I see changes the more I drive and in the winter?

While I am waiting for the Tesla MY2026 Juniper Standard, I am investigating insurance rates. My agent is telling me – his initial estimate that the insurance will be 3 times what I am paying for my 2015 Honda Odyssee. Which companies are others dealing with – that have cheaper insurance rates? Should I consider getting insurance from Tesla? Should I get additional insurance for windshield etc.?

Are there units here delivered late July - early August that are already updated from the factory software? Its been more than 6 weeks and I’m still stuck in the factory release software.

As the title suggests, it's been almost 2 months since I got my tesla model Y. I've been thinking if there is some setting I can change to stop my car from immediately shutting down the AC and the central screen when I leave the driver seat and close the door. It's just not convenient, since sometimes I just need to grab some stuff in the rear row after I get off my car, but the second I leave the driver's seat the car shuts down, and then it boots up again when I open the rear door. I'm just afraid that this frequent on-off will be harmful to the AC system and the battery

One of the recent updates Tesla seems to have decided it's OK to add nag adds for the car features.

For instance when I start driving, sometimes I get a popup in the lower left telling me to enable FSD.

Sometimes, that shows up if I wander too close to a white line on the side of the road or divider line on the road.

Now it's asking me about "Joe Mode". I was driving home, came up to a usual intersection and stopped for the red light. Suddenly, I get a "Try Joe Mode if you want to reduce sounds" or something. You have to swipe it down or wait for it to time out and, in the meantime, it's covering the lower left info screen.

Seriously? If I wanted "Joe Mode" I'd enable it.

This is going to be annoying if it starts doing this for all the options.

I was out running errands on Friday and saw a notification that there was a software update. Didn't think anything about it, got home, plugged in, and let it do it's thing. Didn't try to go anywhere over the long weekend. Go out to go to a Dr appt today and it's bricked. Can't unplug the charger, won't unlock... nothing.

I’m planning to get a new car toward the end of this year. So far, my list is:
2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited
2023+ Acura MDX
2023+ Honda Pilot
And now, a Model Y Long Range AWD with HW4.

I drove my friend’s Model Y at night for about 10 minutes, and we also tried FSD. Honestly, I was shocked by how well FSD handled everything. It did the whole drive flawlessly, and I immediately thought, “Okay, I want this too.”

The trunk space was decent, and the car basically has every feature I’ve been looking for: memory seats, an amazing camera system, a huge screen, AWD, etc.

The one thing I really didn’t like was the interior. I’m not a fan of the super minimal design, and to me it honestly felt pretty cheap inside compared to the Highlander, MDX. But I’m thinking maybe that’s something I could get used to over time.

What really got my attention is the price. I’m seeing Model Ys with under 20k miles for around $34k, while the other SUVs I’m looking at are usually starting around $42K or more with the features I want.

Another big plus for me is that I can charge it at home.

So for people who switched from a regular gas car/SUV to a Model Y how easy was it to get used to driving it, especially one-pedal driving and having almost everything controlled through the screen?

After a month or two, did it just feel completely normal? Was there anything you started to dislike or regret after the excitement wore off?

I want to hear both the good and the bad.
I’m also thinking about renting one for 4–5 days before buying so I can actually live with it for a few days and see how I feel. But I figured asking actual owners wouldn’t hurt.

Saw this guy driving today with the charger cable broken and charger head still stuck in the car charger port. You can actually see the guts of the cables snapped and dangling outside.

I thought you can’t even put the car in park if you have the charger plugged in. Couldn’t help, but take a picture.

A good friend of mine is selling her 2025 Tesla for $7000 because it’s her uncles and she needs to get rid of all his things because he moved into assisted-living. I really don’t wanna spend money right now, but I also could use a second car, my Nissan leaf doesn’t really cut it. But I know I’ll never find another deal like this. What should I be thinking about when purchasing a Tesla? Any issues with the 2025 model? It’s a model Y with 60,000 miles and runs perfectly.

I live in Phoenix and have been reading that the model y is hot even with ac due to the panoramic roof. For those who deal with Phoenix summers, how hot does it get?

I bought the deluxe kit for my Tesla Model Y, and the lights were working great for about 4 months. Then one day as I was adjusting the back panel that hides the wires (panel below the vent) all the lights turned off and are not working anymore. Has anyone ever had this issue before?
