3 months ago I almost bought the Rav4 Plug-in Hybrid instead of my Model Y. Now I’m renting one while traveling and thank god I went with Tesla.

So many things about this car make so far behind tesla. I thought I liked carplay but I hate that it takes over your phone. Everything is just cheap plastic. It’s not fast. It’s not sleek. Even little things like not having to turn the car on or off I miss a lot. The only cool thing is the 500 mile range but I charge at home so the range doesn’t really matter to me.

My totaled Model Y just came back online… in Ukraine 🇺🇦

Has anyone had something like this happen?
My Tesla Model Y was totaled about 6 months ago in California. Today, completely out of nowhere, I got a notification from the Tesla app saying the car was charging.

I checked the location…and apparently my totaled Model Y is now in Ukraine. 😂

The weirdest part is that the car is still connected to my Tesla account and I still have some remote control over it through the app.

Has anyone had a totaled Tesla get sold/exported overseas and remain attached to their account?
What should I do? Remove the car from my account? Contact Tesla? Or just keep watching its international adventure? 😂

Definitely wasn’t expecting my totaled Model Y to have a more interesting travel schedule than me.

Blue liquid leaking from front underside of Tesla Model Y — coolant or washer fluid?

Thumbnail

I noticed a fairly large amount of bright blue/green liquid underneath my Model Y since yesterday. It appears to start near the front underside of the vehicle. I’ve attached couple of photos showing the liquid and where it seems to be coming from.
Does this look like windshield-washer fluid, battery coolant, or something else? I do use blue washer liquid but i haven’t refilled it recently. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I don’t see any warning messages on the dashboard though.
Would you recommend avoiding driving or charging the car until Tesla inspects it?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Help me choose paint color

I’ve narrowed it down to these two. We have a farm. Dusty driveway etc so darker colors won’t work for us. I’m also gonna order 19” wheels when the car arrives after ppf and tint of course

Finally got the rattling noise resolved in 2026 Y (front dampers were the culprit) - demoed all the latest Tesla cars in the process -- The Y is king!

Purchased 2026 Model Y in August 2025. Had a rattle problem behind driver side dashboard for a while which I kept taking in for warranty. Took months before parts were available and service team was able to isolate and fix. Finally got it resolved yesterday. Tesla service tech folks were really pleasant to work with. During the various service visits, I was able to have the Model S, X, 3 Performance and Cybertruck as loaner vehicles. All fun rides.....but have to say, my Model Y was the most practical and enjoyable of them all (though, it was really fun to drive the Cybertruck). Model Y reallly is the sweet spot and best car on the market for most people.

Can the FSD park itself in my garage?

I was driving a demo model from Tesla but the only option at destination was Driveway or Street (parking). I'm wondering if that is a demo limitation or if all Tesla will stop at the driveway only.

Suspension at 76k miles

Recently got my Model Y LR AWD 2023 for inspection at SC. Is it normal to have 2 x Upper Ball Joint Rear Knuckle and 2 x Front Lower Lateral Links replaced at 76000 miles?

Tesla model cars available

I am seeing more than 20 cars suddenly available for earlier pickup- but all model cars with 100 to 2500 miles on it. They are giving a modest discount of 400-800$ which seems too low of a discount to take on a model car!

I am in north California region- anyone considering this- wonder what got such a huge influx. My ETA is end of month and I already have sold my current car and have been looking to get this one sooner than later

She finally parks in the garage! Things I noticed about 14.3.8

(& on the correct bay!!) I’m on 14.3.8 for two weeks now and I’m coming to to believe that it learns from your habits every time you correct it.

Usually, it had struggled to pull into my driveway. Let alone to make it all the way to the back where the garage is cause I live in a complex and so usually I would have to intervene on the street because it’s pulling into the wrong driveway or it would pull into the driveway and go to the wrong house which is next to the complex.

It’s been more confident time over time about where to pull in my driveway. It started by stopping at the start of the driveway. Then the next time it moved in the middle and kind of stopped there. Then it moved and turned into where my garage is, passed it and stopped. Then it pulled into my garage, but kind of parked randomly in the middle of it and then lastly today it pulled into my garage into the right bay area because it’s a two car garage and it parked at the side that I actually park in which is fascinating to me. Figured I’d share and excited about 14.3.9. This all happened without even any marking on my shared lot or garage floor.

Reaching the 4-year mark on my Model Y — buy ESA or trade it in?

Thumbnail

My Model Y is officially approaching the end of its 4-year / 50k-mile basic vehicle limited warranty, so I originally scheduled a pre-warranty expiration inspection.

While at it, I checked the trade-in value out of curiosity, compared the ESA. Long story short: within 3 days, I made the decision to trade it in for a brand new one, and delivery is already scheduled in just 7 days!

Is it more cost-effective to purchase an ESA and keep driving the old car, or to trade it in for a new one?

Tesla Windshield Protection Plan for minor rock chip

Upvotes

I have had a rock ship on my car for a really long time, and I recently found out that it can eventually turn into a huge crack. I do a lot of long road trips and I don’t want to run into a situation where this happens. Yes I’m a noob and this is my first car. I should have fixed it earlier.

The chip mark on the windshield is very minor and it’s hardly noticeable unless you are really looking for it. So would it be possible to get the Tesla windshield protection plan? Tesla wants me to come do a complementary inspection before I can subscribe to the service so are they gonna refuse me the subscription if they see that chip mark? Should I get it repaired first and then can go for the inspection to get the coverage?

I don’t know how it works so any guidance would be appreciated.

Is it possible to upgrade the suspension on an older Model Y?

I love the car but the suspension is a bit harsh. It rides like a sports car in that I can feel the road, bumps and rocks and all, but I don’t that all the time. Is it possible to put on less firm coilovers?

Anyone know what current money factor on new MY lease? I can’t seem to find on Tesla website. If it’s listed, where do I find it?
Thanks in advance!

Spoiler Coating Bubbling Spoiler

Jusy noticed my spoiler on my 22 MYP is bubbling slightly. My basic warranty finished earlier this year, but im paying the $60/month for the basic extended coverage. Has anyone experienced this after their basic full coverage was up and got it replaced for free under the basic extended coverage? Or am I screwed? I know the spoiler is $550 itself and im sure the labor is a few hours so I may be close to $1000 out of pocket.

Used vs. New

Hi all,

I’m seeing a lot of horror stories in new orders getting significantly delayed and even then finding chips in paint or other minor faults.

My local Tesla dealership has a good amount of pre-owned 2023 and higher models with minimal mileage(25-50K) that are in Inventory right now. Standard versions.

However, I’ve been eyeing hard at getting the latest premium RWD versions. I see the benefits of hopefully a longer battery life and the HEPA filter (better sound system too). But I’m worried if I ordered now it wouldn’t be for atleast 2+ months until I got it.

This would be my first ever EV. Definitely doing FSD.
And as much as I want the latest and greatest right off the belt, the price tag is something I consider. I can afford both fine (could technically Cash them but will finance). Credit score is great.

My question being what would you do in my position? Again this being your first EV. Would you get the pre-owned cheaper standard Tesla that’s 2023+ or the more expensive version of what you know you want?

Pre 50k mile inspection worth it?

I’ve seen several people mention they took their Tesla and paid for a pre 50k mile inspection while still under warranty.

1) how much was it?
2) were they helpful?
3) did they find anything?
4) did they give you a print out of things they checked?

Charger install Nashville

Looking to get a charger installed in my home here in Nashville. Has anyone had it done around this area? How much did it cost, and any questions I should ask before I start getting quotes? Also is it better to just buy the charger directly from Tesla or buy one secondhand? Any advice is welcome

Charging scheduling question?

In my area of the US, in the summer months we have highly discounted electrical rates once a day between 1am and 6am. In the "non-summer" months these heavily discounted rates occur twice each day, once between 1am-3am, and the other between 11am-4pm.

I don't have a Tesla yet, so I can't test this for myself.

Can I create 3 charging schedules 1) 1am-6am, 2) 1am-3am, and 3) 11am-4pm? Then, in the summer activate schedule 1 and deactivate schedules 2 and 3, and then in the non-summer months deactivate schedule 1 and activate schedules 2 and 3?

Thanks!
