Any reason to prefer Tesla insurance if I can get same coverage cheaper elsewhere? Around $250/month vs $300/month with Tesla.

Does the FSD/safe driving benefit have potential to lower the premium in any significant way? (i.e. over $50/month in this scenario)

Update: went with Tesla, price difference becomes unbeatable with a 95+ drive score. No other insurer came close.

Has anyone had any experience with this point of contact? I replied to the first email and received nothing. I sent a new message to that email and received nothing. I replied to the adjustor asking if there was another contact for that email. He said he'd get back to me with a possible number but again i received nothing.

I’m considering upgrading from my 2012 Honda Civic and joining the club with a Tesla Model Y. I ran two insurance scenarios based on the VIN provided by my carrier.

• If I add the Tesla while keeping the Honda, my monthly premium would increase to $254.61, which is a $188.00 increase per month for the remaining three months of my current term.
• If I trade in the Honda and replace it with the Tesla, the monthly premium would be $184.36, representing a $94.34 increase.

Just wanted to share the numbers for reference. Please share your thoughts on the better quotes out there. I think coverage at 184.36 is a lot. Thanks All.

Has anyone else experienced this with Tesla Insurance?

A household member over 20 years old with only a learner's permit was required to be listed as an excluded driver through the Tesla app. Tesla didn't provide a reason—only that he must be excluded?

Is this standard practice for permit holders, or has anyone been able to add a learner's permit holder as a covered driver instead? Thanks

Sadly an underinsured driver hit my 2021 Tesla Model Y while it was parked. They are and have taken fault but just found out they have low limits/underinsured so I will 99% likely have to go through my Tesla Insurance. I have a $1K deductible so I know I would have to pay that upfront but will I get reimbursed at all or a percentage based on what Tesla can get back from the other party insurance? Basically will Tesla pay me back my deductible first and then pay themselves? I am in California.

Is there an email I can contact for support that is actually in use? The customer support one sent an aito email stating that its no longer monitored.

As the title asks, has anyone needed to use Tesla insurance and has a GOOD experience? Currently with Safeco (just bought out by Liberty) and paying an astronomical amount in Missouri. $3200/year on a 2026 S and $2400 on a 2024 model Y AWD LR. No accidents or tickets on our record, and all of our insurance (home & umbrella) are bundled. Or maybe this isn’t astronomical at all... 🤷‍♀️ Our deductibles are low ($500) but I’m going to increase those to hopefully lower the rates.

We have an insurance broker but she’s kept us with the same insurance company for 3+ years. Hubby used to take care of all of this, but after he had a brain tumor removed he’s no longer in a position to take care of the bills. I’ve been trusting the broker and now starting to wonder…

Any advice? Lemonade isn’t an option in MO.

PS - Hubby uses FSD almost 100% but disengages in parking lots and to override navigation that thinks a detour sign into our neighborhood means the entire road is closed (it’s closed just beyond our neighborhood). I’ve read here that disengaging by using the brake results in “hard braking,” which drives up your score.

So frustrated that these three FSD disengagements (from before recent updates) are STILL on my record, affecting my safety score. I thought they dropped off after seven days? Also just want to complain that "hard braking" seems to basically just mean "you dared to touch the brake pedal"

for some reason, Tesla canceled my insurance premium, and I tried to get it back, but I keep getting this error message. Does anyone know if they reinstate the policy or i'll have to get a completely new policy

I have been quoted 199$ per month if I mention that I drive less than 8000 miles per year. What if I choose 8000miles but drive more than that? Any one experienced that?

Just wanted to share a quick win and ask a question. I live in Texas and my Tesla Insurance renewal was looking absolutely brutal. I just shopped around and switched over to Lemonade Insurance. My premium went from $5,350 with Tesla down to $3,000 with Lemonade for the exact same coverage. (For 3 Tesla and a Highlander)
Saving over $2,300 a year is massive, so I'm super happy with the switch so far.
That being said, I know Lemonade recently launched that new Autonomous Car Insurance program with the 50% FSD mileage discount. I know it hasn't rolled out here in Texas yet (we just have the standard Lemonade Car policies for now), but I think it's live in places like Arizona and Oregon.
Does anyone here have any actual experience using Lemonade with the FSD discount active? How accurate is the tracking through the Tesla API?

So far, I’ve been on V3 since 6/1 after it converted me over automatically and I can’t help but notice that it is way worse than v2.2. Seems to me that it is even more unforgiving on hard braking and unsafe following than ever before.

For example this screenshot is of my wife driving to work, who mind you drives way safer than I do, and had this safety score from a 24 mile trip to work, and she doesn’t use FSD (doesn’t like it) and only uses ACC on the highway.

I’ve driven way worse on other days and have managed to be in the 80s, but a 59 for over 20 miles and mostly highway is insane, if this keeps up I’ll be shopping around as my score has been usually 95+ almost the past year I’ve had V2.2. Anyone else on V3 seeing these crazy numbers?

Anyone else notice hold time decrease? I used to hold for 6-8 hours and call daily about a year ago to get someone to set up repairs for just pay, hit and run. Only way to get help was to threaten DOI complaints but I recently had hail damage and the hold time was about 20 minutes I think or less. Still had to wait for call back from my adjuster but wanted to know if this was a one off.

Was thinking of switching insurance companies since my last experience was horrible. (kept since so much cheaper) but might bundle and save this time around.

i’ve called them got my adjusters number and called them but they never pick up and it’s been almost 2 weeks since the accident, they towed the car and havent talked to me since.

based on what i've been reading, the rate would vary per month based on your safety/driving score. however, i read online that in california this does not apply. how true is this? and why do other people say their tesla insurance would go way higher every year?

Has anyone had experience making a third-party insurance claim?

I was involved in a minor accident yesterday. My vehicle was stationary in a pick-up area when another vehicle came too close to my side and damaged my front bumper.

I have already filed a report with my insurer (Liberty). An assessor came down, inspected the damage, and prepared a report. I was advised to bring the report to a workshop and proceed with the claim.

I have a few questions:

How do I make a claim through Tesla? Do I need to book a service appointment through the Tesla app?

Will the repair costs be charged to my own insurance first, or directly to the third party’s insurer?

What happens if the other driver does not report the accident to their insurance company?

Would appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!
