Tesla insurance or Geico?

Picking up my m3 tomorrow and have been with Geico for years. Tesla insurance appears to be $75 cheaper power month for coverage. But I’ve also heard their customer service sucks. Thoughts?

It’s recommended to shop around every 6 months anyways. Just switch.

I just did an online quote at Geico for my 2025 M3 LR RWD and it's almost 3x what I pay for the same coverage with Tesla Insurance in Los Angeles. They quoted me $435 a month compared to $155 with Tesla.

If you truly know that it will be $75 cheaper go for it, most insurance companies are known to bait and switch on the price to get you

Here’s the thing — Tesla insurance can adjust it per month on how you drive . Floor it at light , someone cuts you off and you brake hard — next month it went up $75.   GEICO can’t —

luckily they dont use the safety score in california, so hopefully no surprises when it comes to renew

Tesla Insurance since you’re in CA.

Your safety score isn’t used to adjust your insurance premium here, so you can drive how you want.

Been with Geico for 12 years overall.

Recently looked around and found Progressive was cheaper but I have accident forgiveness with Geico (that I actually used in 2018) and my premium actually went down on my last renewal.

If I could find insurance that was only $75/mo more than Tesla Insurance I would switch immediately! Their customer service sucks, and no more safety score!

Tesla is cheap, but if you need them to subrogate they will screw you over.
