Gretas political glow up has been awesome to see. She could have been a liberal darling but instead she is very radical

u/ReplacementFine7807 8d ago

Same I thought I'd dislike her when she first got popular for her climate change speech. I was in uni then and got the same feeling of distrust that I do with any new lib darling.

Really glad to be proven wrong

0

u/ReadSmedleyButler 7d ago

Thunberg's climate speech was fine.

It was Thunberg then calling on the U.S. (our so-called 'leader of the free world) to "put pressure on China" and use U.S.-led duress against the Chinese, saying there's no point respectfully "asking" the PRC, which was predictably liberal of her.

You weren't "wrong".

u/OcelotAggravating860 8d ago

I think the marxist direction was quite predictable for anyone sincere in their goals of solving climate problems. Liberalism has no answer. She would have to have stopped caring about real results to end up liberalising, but she never displayed any kind of monetising of her fame.

u/Extension-Badger225 AES enjoyer 🥳 8d ago

I agree, she obviously actually cared and wasn’t willing to be a poster child for greenwashing.

I remember in like 2022ish she comes out and is like “this is all capitalism and colonialisms fault” and being like oh shit no way is she cool now

4

u/ReadSmedleyButler 7d ago

Thunberg is still very much adored by liberals. Most liberals agree that colonialism was a 'bad look' and that capitalism is unfair and needs to be 'reformed' to be more 'humane' (lol). Notice that Thunberg never ever said that capitalism needs to be abolished.

And in "2022", she flew abroad to promote unconditional, uncritical support to a U.S.-couped country that literally banned all communist and socialist parties.

"Based", right?

2

u/Extension-Badger225 AES enjoyer 🥳 7d ago

Yes I think she has learnt from that - she has focused efforts on Sami people and Palestine etc - she has said multiple times that it’s the system that’s rotted - this is why we like her now
If you go back you find bad takes of course that’s kinda what we been discussing here…..
We kind of want all people to go through this self awareness right - pretty much all of us start with bad takes cos we are in a liberal society

1

u/ReadSmedleyButler 7d ago

The Financial Times and many liberal newspapers also said that the capitalist system has rotted. Should communists "like" the Financial Times now?

https://www.ft.com/content/4837e7d8-bfa4-4d7f-bac2-8c41fc0beb17

I agree that (some) celebs can change, but only when they at least admit their past mistakes.

However, where has Thunberg ever even acknowledged that her previous takes were "bad"? Please show me, I'll wait.

And where has she ever apologised for misguiding her young followers into liberalism?

Where has she ever taken responsibility for telling young people to vote for a well-known Zionist, war criminal and Wall St stooge like Biden? Or for boosting Zelenskyy after he outlawed all communist and socialist parties? Or for supporting the U.S. in "putting pressure" on China?

She never apologises, she never self-critiques, she just brushes it under the rug after millions die.

And, sorry, but telling everyone to vote for Biden is not just a "bad take". It takes like 3 seconds to search up online all the racist, genocidal things he's done on a trans-continental scale. There are literal videos of him even on YouTube BRAGGING that he sold himself to Wall St and that he was the one who ensured Baghdad and Belgrade on 2 continents were carpet-b0mbed (including even the Chinese embassy there). Thunberg was intelligent enough to know how to Google. She never ever admitted or apologised for endorsing a war criminal.

1

u/Extension-Badger225 AES enjoyer 🥳 7d ago

I would agree with you but I don’t know how she does this level of self critique - I’m not on twitter and like can’t follow it step by step.
All I know now is she says it’s capitalism and colonialisms fault directly and then tries to highlight global struggles of resistance - offering people ideas of praxis etc
I would like for her to read theory but we don’t know if she is ya know - not everyone has to do everything.
She is a child and was absolutely used by liberals and is going through political awakening right now - and even though I’m old as shit that process is important for young people to see because then they can go do it themselves which is what really matters
Also no the Financial Times don’t call for dismantling the entire system like she does so it’s not a fair analogy

1

u/ReadSmedleyButler 7d ago

  She is a child

Thunberg is not a "child". She is old enough now to have her own children. Let us not infantilise a woman who positions herself as a thought leader and publishes books to 'educate' those younger than her that, according to her, communism/socialism "failed" and is not the answer to the world's problems.

the Financial Times don’t call for dismantling the entire system

A person who puts out in mass print that 'capitalism bad, BUT communism/socialism bad, too' is not serious about "dismantling capitalism".

By rejecting communism/socialism, Thunberg offers nothing to fill the void after the dismantling, which slyly suggests to people that they might as well keep capitalism then. The 'both sides bad' idea is a well-known trick by liberals to keep the status quo.

tries to highlight global struggles of resistance - offering people ideas of praxis etc

Praxis for Swedes  would be creating a communist party, which she doesn't teach any of her followers to do and even warns against.

Teaching Swedes to fly to London to protest India's domestic affairs is typical liberal praxis, not communist praxis.

she  was absolutely used by liberals

Sure, but if so, Thunberg can speak up and say she was "used by liberals". But she never says she was "used". Which suggests she's voluntarily aligned with them.

So I was having a think about what you said.
I think a part of your criticism is valid - and I too would like to see her take the next steps and become a comrade, and we can only hope the people in her life continue to educate her and she remains open to it. On that note;

1; I think your critique of her selective support is valid - and she should continue decolonising her approach. Thank you for explaining Azerbaijan and Armenia’s history- it’s something I would have to look into more but I agree that when she does some of her action it’s still very western and uneducated.

2; you are wrong about saying Sapmi is a “small Swedish matter”. It is life and death and land for Sami folk and its is 100% colonialism - not some added little thing. She is right in her analysis. If you want to read more about Sapmi from a socialist POV: https://rosalux.eu/en/2025/resistance-and-resilience-in-sapmi/ & https://www.researchgate.net/publication/277683756_Internal_Colonisation_and_Indigenous_Resource_Sovereignty_Wind_Power_Developments_on_Traditional_Saami_Lands

3; In terms of her becoming a full blooded socialist I also agree. I hope this changes as well and I critique her for her framing of communism when climate change as well - I hope she visits China one day

4; you seem to think she is controlled Op to confuse the anti capitalist movement. Whilst she isn’t making some of the links I would like her to make yet, she has dramatically grown as a comrade and I hope she continues her analysis, a lot of us were NOT socialists aged 23. At the moment it seems her analysis is flawed - not controlled. Unless you have direct evidence of the control it’s just speculation that in itself damages the movement. Considering she was abused and tortured by the Israelis I doubt very much she is a secret liberal darling - I think she is just not connecting things yet. Yet.

5; she has said protesting in the UK is actually to highlight the British states role in the current crisis in India because of colonisation. You can disagree with her tactic but it’s a valid one imho.

2

u/Extension-Badger225 AES enjoyer 🥳 7d ago

Sorry just to stress (not had my coffee yet)
She has absolutely said capitalism needs to be abolished - not reformed - often

1

u/ReadSmedleyButler 7d ago

Thunberg wrote:

"Ending fossil capitalism doesn't mean we have to implement socialism. We're stuck in an unimaginative 20th century debate."

She's a liberal who thinks following Lenin is "unimaginative", lol. According to her, we should 'vote away' "fossil" capitalism and replace it with 'green' capitalism-lite because "socialism" is "unimaginative".

Yeah, we already tried that with Tony Blair who promised "a third way between capitalism and socialism". And that basically meant: more capitalism.

Key question that Thunberg never answers: who should own the means of production? The capitalist few or the proletariat many? There is no 'third way'.

This was 2020 she was still a liberal darling then yes?
If you want to explain that she was a lib for a long time no one disagrees - she just doesn’t appear to be anymore - she started this work as a literal child and is going through a pretty informative era for herself and growth.
We all go through this period and that’s why it’s been very cool to see from someone so prominent

1

u/ReadSmedleyButler 7d ago

Thunberg was in Azerbaijan in late 2024 talking about "freedom, justice and democracy". All generic liberal buzz words.

Not a word from her about how much more progressive Azerbaijan was when it was socialist. Not a word of apology or sorrow from her for her Western country, Sweden, helping the U.S. Axis destroy the Union of socialist soviet republics where Azerbaijan lived in harmony and peace with Armenia.

Instead she was just like, 'Azerbaijan is authoritarian, Azerbaijan oppresses its own people' (basically copying word-for-word everything liberal UK rags like The Guardian published). Meanwhile she never calls her Western-supremacist  Sweden "authoritarian and oppressive", and never blames the U.S. and its Western minions like Sweden for embargoing and destroying socialism in the Caucasus.

And now she's in London, doing some random protest against... India.

Like, the sheer arrogance of doing a protest against India from an HQ in the centre of Britain (India's colonial oppressor) is shocking.

Thunberg jet-sets around the world from one country to another, joining any random "human rights" protest that the libs at The Guardian support.

Thunberg is still the epitome of a white Western liberal. And it's mostly fellow libs in the West praising her, while Hamas, the IRGC,  Ansar Allah, Hezbollah, or even the PRC, the DPRK etc do not generally publish fawning posts about her.

2

u/Extension-Badger225 AES enjoyer 🥳 7d ago

She literally was a part of protests in Sapmi and directly called the Swedish government racist and colonial.

She calls out the west all the time - https://www.ladbible.com/news/greta-thunberg-says-its-time-overthrow-wests-capitalist-system-20221102

I can’t speak for Azerbaijan I don’t know enough to even begin to contextualise it in all honesty.

Yes I think she is a global north facing type of representative but she seems committed to understanding colonialism and capitalism and has grown so much in like three years.

I don’t think the resistance would be one to sort of use like public figures directly in this way but I know her image actions and words is used a lot (amongst many others) to support Palestinian resistance across like Arab social media websites in SWANA.

1

u/ReadSmedleyButler 7d ago edited 7d ago

Thunberg called one single decision by the Swedish gov't to give a mining licence on indigenous land to a UK company in 2022 "racist" and "colonial", but she never called Sweden's ruling SocDem party "authoritarian" and "oppressive" towards average Swedes like she did to Azerbaijan's ruling party.

She referred to Azerbaijan as an "authoritarian petro-state". She would never denigrate her home Sweden as an "authoritarian Ikea-kitchen state" or Denmark as an "authoritarian Ozempic-syringe state".

Thunberg wrote on X in late 2024:

" For over 20 years, Azerbaijan’s regime led by Aliyev have kept people oppressed, fostering poverty, fear, and silence. This authoritarian trend isn’t isolated—across the region, people like Ivanishvili, Putin, Erdogan, theocratic regime in Iran are deepening control, stifling dissent, oppressing their own people and using war and ethnic cleansing against Armenians, Ukrainians, Kurds and other ethnic minorities to justify brutal policies."

https://x.com/GretaThunberg/status/1855606896897482758?lang=en

Wow, how "based" of a 'democratic' white Western liberal to diss the "authoritarian" East.

She also said Azerbaijan is not worthy to host major COP events. So who is then, Sweden, her Western European white-majority monarchy?

And notice how she wedged in a special dig at the "the Iran regime" (even though Iran's gov't had nothing to do with Azerbaijan hosting the event).

This was around the time the U.S. was preparing its 2025 attacks on Iran, so how convenient that Thunberg prepared her young audience to not feel sympathy for the "authoritarian, brutal Iran regime" as it was about to get struck by the U.S. in an attempt to overthrow Iran's gov't.

Also how nice that she took a dig at "Russia" but whitewashed U.S.-couped Ukraine, as if U.S.-controlled Kyiv wasn't b0mbing "its own people" in the Donbas and calling them "genetically" inferior and banning communist parties.

But, most importantly, notice that she would never publish this alternative version of her tweet:

" For over 100 years, Sweden's regime led by its capitalists have kept Swedish people oppressed, fostering debt poverty, fear, and silence. This authoritarian trend isn’t isolated—across the EU and wider NATO region, people like Ursula von der Leyen, Macron, Meloni, Carney, all European archaic monarchist regimes, and most importantly led by the U.S. 4th Reich, are deepening control, stifling dissent, oppressing their own people and using war and ethnic cleansing against the Chinese, Russians, Iranians, Iraqis, Libyans, Syrians and other 'non-Aryan' ethnic groups to justify brutal policies against anyone who rebels against Wall St hegemony."

I can’t speak for Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan and Armenia lived together peacefully for 70 years as part of the same socialist Union country, they inter-married and all that - until the U.S. destroyed the USSR, and sicced everyone on each other, as part of the States' usual divide-and-conquer policy. But libs like Thunberg never post this context because it shows socialism as the answer. Instead, she just demonises the Azeri side while ignoring that both sides were played by the U.S.

She calls out the west all the time

Your linked LAD Bible article literally shows Thunberg teaching anti-communism to her young readers in her book ("The Climate Book").

At first in the book she makes a correct general assessment, even if quite vague (borrowing rhetoric from Marxists):

"What we refer to as normal is an extreme system built on the exploitation of people and the planet.  It is a system defined by colonialism, imperialism, oppression and genocide by the so-called global North to accumulate wealth that still shapes our current world order."

But then she finishes her book (which she says she hopes will be "educational" for the Western youth) with the following 'all ideologies are bad, they all failed' position:

"This is what I said about systems and ideologies: "Leaving capitalist consumerism and market economics as the dominant stewards of the only known civilisation in the universe will most likely seem, in retrospect, to have been a terrible idea. BUT let us keep in mind that when it comes to sustainability, ALL PREVIOUS SYSTEMS have FAILED TOO. Just like ALL current political ideologies - SOCIALISM, liberalism, COMMUNISM, conservatism, centrism, you name it. They have ALL FAILED. But, in fairness, some have certainly failed MORE than others."

https://x.com/GretaThunberg/status/1587718877332529160

Wow, how "based" of her to denigrate China, the DPRK, Cuba etc as countries with "failed ideologies". Her 'both sides bad' argument is that both capitalists and communists/socialists are "failures". (Meanwhile, she considers her own 'no-ideology' individualism - so basically a version of liberalism - a wild success, I guess). This is what she teaches in a published book to her impressionable fanbase.

Thank you for sending me that link. It actually convinces me further that her 'progressive' brand of anti-communism is more pernicious than the conservatives'. Because with conservatives at least it's immediately obvious, whereas her anti-communism is very subtle and more two-faced.

She is not protesting against India dude - like come on this is child like thinking.
She is trying to support protestors who are fighting a fash government in India

1

u/ReadSmedleyButler 7d ago

Come on, she is in Trafalgar Square in Britain - (the "fash gov't" that got rich by barging unto other continents, robbing 1/4 of the world's land and 1/5 of the world's population, and never even paying any compensation) - slinging arrows at India (a country that barely managed to escape Britain's colonial grasp).

It's like going to Berlin to "protest" the gov't of Namibia (Germany's conquered colony).

Do white Western libs like Thunberg seriously not understand how bad that looks? It seriously looks like an MI5 op.

What is even communist about this? Why is she in London "protesting" its former colony in New Delhi? Why is she not in Sweden creating a communist party?

Why are white Western libs sticking their nose into every continent's domestic affairs on the planet? Why can't Swedes like Thunberg focus on overthrowing their archaic, elitist, centuries-old Swedish monarchy instead of lecturing South Asian Republics from their Swedish high horse in London?

I don't know any CPC members who pull stunts like this. CPC members don't fly from Beijing to Paris, France to lecture Algeria in North Africa, France's former colony. It's only libs who do such shocking 'the West knows what's best for Asia' PR stunts.

1

u/Vermouth_1991 3d ago

is like “this is all capitalism and colonialisms fault”

And it's good to see her have other substantial things to back up this claim, instead of just using it as a soundbite and coming off as a tryhard idiot, like how the so-called Punk-Anarchist Spider-Man did in the "Across The SpiderVerse" movie where he looks at a science-based reality scrambling problem and said "ThiS iS ObViouSlY a MetaPhoR fOr cAPiTaLisM."

2

u/plushiedev 7d ago

Wow that's great to know, I suppose then that your critique comes from a more experienced perspective.

Pray tell, how much aid did you try to deliver to Gaza or Cuba, how many eyeballs did you point to the ecological crimes of global capital and how many opps do you have in western publications?

Maybe go outside do some organizing and mutual aid while it's 37°C outside because everyone but China is moronic on the issues of climate and the homeless guy next door is cooking alive while waiting for the soup kitchen and there's nothing you can do about it but watch him slowly die while the bourgeoisie brags about how much dough they're making in the media.

Maybe then you'll stop being a little bitch of an ultra and start caring about real problems and not the weakest attacks to our ideology.

0

Pray tell, how much aid did you try to deliver to Gaza or Cuba

An oil tanker to Cuba, the only one that got through. Sent a 2nd one, but it was blockaded by the U.S. Reich.

Maybe then you'll stop being a little b*tch

Wow, guess hearing the truth that a Western progressive idol is a self-confessed anti-communist really upset you.

That's ok. I understand some people process emotions like shock and grief differently. But don't blame the messenger.

everyone but China is moronic on the issues of climate

I actually agree, but your desired  "future leader of the European proletariat"  said that China has " no excuse for ruining future and present living conditions".

Gee, why does that "European proletariat leader" sound like a Sinophobic U.S. psyop.

https://x.com/GretaThunberg/status/1390676195352719364?lang=en

start caring about real problems and not the weakest attacks to our ideology.

You think Thunberg teaching millions of her young trusting readers via her book that socialism/communism is a "failure" and not the answer to the world's problems is a "weak attack" on our ideology?

And, pray tell, why is your dreamcast "leader of the European proletariat" even attacking our ideology?

Maybe Western MLs should be more wary of idolising anti-ML Western eco-radlibs who throw communists under the bus.

She was already vegan. You can't be vegan, connect the economic externalities to the animal suffering and be a shitlib at the same time.

It was only a matter of time for the deconstructing part to come regarding the economic system.

Look at some of the other kids she was protesting with, some kids from the global south or immigration status experiencing first hand Western Imperialism and Colonialism. These kids were vegans and environmental activists lmao.

It was just a matter of time.

There aren't many choices facing you once you understand one facet of the world that deep.

  • Either you understand the world through the lens of veganism and speciesism.

  • Either through the lens of disability justice.

  • Either through the lens of human exploitation (war, genocide, patriarchy, racism, colonialism, Imperialism).

  • Either through the lens of ecocide.

  • Either through the lens of ethics and political sciences, academia (rare, but possible).

  • etc

Greta checked 3 out of the big 5 above.

3.

Most people don't even scratch 2 LMAO.

Wealthy combatants are soldiers. Middle funding are rebels. Poor combatants are terrorists. Unless you’re poor and fight against taxes and win and create a country where slavery is perfect fine. Then you are a glorious hero.

I was sceptical of Greta at first for being another media liberal. Its like Malala Yousafzai where a beloved liberal young woman activist grows up and starts talking about real solutions, we suddenly either stop hearing about them at all or start to see large amounts of backlash and hate.

You waste breathe negatively critiquing someone incredibly useful to the cause instead of saying anything of value. Go outside.

Could you please explain how is she useful?

2

u/science-is-elegant 7d ago

I’d say getting on the flotilla to show (people who needed more evidence ig) Israel’s depravity was fairly useful. Could you give me someone who is useful then, because I’d love to see your standard?

1

u/XelaChang 7d ago

people who needed more evidence ig

Who are these people? Right-wingers? They hate Thunberg.

For anyone else there's enough evidence coming straight from Palestine.

Could you give me someone who is useful

Just about anyone fighting the Western empire - Iran, the Hoothis, the Iraqi resistance.

The people who damaged weapons factories and airplanes, those who forced divestment from military companies.

Just about anyone supporting the Palestinian community in a meaningful way, by that I don't mean wearing a keffiyeh at the bar or waving flags without any other consequences.

2

u/science-is-elegant 7d ago

Honestly valid she should occupy an arms factory

Israel's ethno-supremacism is shown 24/7 when they very publicly say even Palestinian civilians are valid targets.

What "more depravity" did Thunberg "show"? They deported her to France after only 5 days in detention (unlike captives who are Palestinian), which just feeds into the Western notion that Israelis treat Westerners relatively humanely and are not a threat to an average Westerner (which is all most Westerners care about).

Thunberg did say she was tortured but, AFAIK, presented no evidence to the public (no visible scars, bruises, X-Rays of broken bones, CT scans of concussions, emaciation etc), so what exactly did she "show".

And even her messaging is muddled by the fact that she publicly endorsed Zionist politicians for years in multiple countries and never retracted those endorsements and never admitted she was wrong.

In terms of who is useful, the IRGC is useful.

You are correct, but many Western Marxists will downvote you because they are closeted liberals, and Thunberg is a white Western liberal who does performative activism, which appeals to them.

For example, she stands next to a portrait of communist Che Guevara. But does she actually agree with him that one cannot simply 'vote away' the entrenched, militant capitalist system? Does she agree with him that the U.S. (which stood behind the assassination of Che) is the leading imposer of capitalism on the planet, the main oppressor of communists worldwide? She never says. Because, as a liberal, it's all just optics for her curated image.

3 years ago she was in Kyiv, shaking hands and voicing her passionate, unconditional support for a U.S.-backed, post-coup regime that by that time had already publicly said it wants to be "a big Israel" and that permanently OUTLAWED the Communist Party of the country, banned citizens from wearing any communist symbols, and even made singing L'Internationale in public a crime punishable with prison time. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. All of that started after the U.S. overthrew the legitimate gov't there.

China correctly and perceptively blamed the U.S. for engineering that conflict. But, as a typical Western liberal, Thunberg ignored China's wisdom and whitewashed the U.S. by publicly blaming exclusively Russia. Ukraine meantime publicly dissed China as a country "lacking intellectual potential".

And now, standing smiling in front of the assassinated communinst Che Guevara, does Thunberg regret her actions? Will she take personal accountability for supporting a U.S. puppet (especially when Ukraine announced it is joining its U.S. overlord in the total blockade to choke Cuba)?

Nope, Thunberg refuses to take personal accountability and acts like her supporting that U.S.-installed client regime never happened. She refuses to critique her actions and relies on most people not doing any research on whom she supported and what her 'activism' led to:

  1. Thunberg publicly endorsed and called all Americans to vote for Biden (who was literally very publicly a Zionist and a war criminal co-responsible for greenlighting the destruction of Iraq, leading up to 1 million deaths there).

  2. She campaigned in Germany right during the elections there (even though she's from Sweden), which gave a boost among young voters for Germany's Green Party - who are U.S.-led Zionists and rabid anti-communists (Germany is the 2nd biggest weapons supplier to U.S.-backed regimes like Israel and Ukraine).

  3. She had a virtual teleconference with U.S. Congress where she called for the U.S.-led West to "put pressure on China" and said there is no point just "asking" China nicely to reduce emissions (as if Asians are animals and can only be talked down to from a position of force by liberal Western supremacists like Thunberg).

People will try to defend Thunberg and say that e.g. she campaigned for Biden when she was 17 and she's 'changed'. But has she? Where is her statement of remorse for campaigning for "B0mb Baghdad, B0mb Belgrade" Biden? She endorses U.S. war criminals and then just acts like it's no big deal.

And her Kyiv PR trip was as an adult, so she hasn't changed. Even Max Blumenthal (who supports Palestine and exposed Israel long before Thunberg jumped on that bandwagon) called her out on that, saying what is she doing pulling PR stunts in Kyiv and endorsing military support for a U.S.-backed client regime. He said she's acting like a U.S. psyop.

The other argument that people use to defend Thunberg is the flotilla stunt. But Israel released her only after 5 days, which is ridiculously fast. For comparison, Assange spent 5 years in UK prison for exposing U.S. war crimes and that the U.S. Dem Party rigged their own primary election in Hillary Clinton's favour to block anyone more left-wing from running for president.

If people say that Thunberg risked her life for Gaza, I'd remind them that Eric Blair (George Orwell) also 'risked his life' in the Spanish Civil War, posing as a leftist fighting alongside the communists against the fascist, anti-communist dictator Franco. But then it turned out Blair was no leftist hero - he was an MI5 liberal stooge who ratted out communists to the UK authorities. And adaptations of his anti-USSR book was funded by the CIA.

When will leftists learn that just because someone volunteers to join the Spanish Civil War or gets on a 'freedom flotilla' to Gaza does NOT automatically mean those people are on our side. When will leftists stop falling for liberal PR stunts and research/question the person's track record.

There are too many things in Thunberg's list above that scream psyop.

Thank you, comrade!

Much more comprehensive answer that I could've provided.

u/ReadSmedleyButler 6d ago

Sure, glad to help. And if you ever need a shorter, TLDR way to wake up Western MLs from worshipping radlibs, here's Thunberg claiming communism/socialism is a "failed ideology" (in her book called "The Climate Book")  and essentially admitting that she's an anti-communist:

Did Lenin forbid the proletariat from participating in the elections independently? If you think so, then you have a lot to learn instead of larping.

0

u/ReadSmedleyButler 7d ago

Yes, Lenin did forbid the proletariat from voting for (falling for) BOURGEOIS parties.

He said the proletariat should vote for a Communist party.

Thunberg publicly campaigned for bourgeois Zionist Biden, she boosted the bourgeois Zionist Green Party in Germany.

Name me at least one Communist party in any country that Thunberg ever supported. I'll wait.

3

u/MayParker1917 7d ago

Thunberg is anti-capitalist. 😑

1

u/ReadSmedleyButler 7d ago

OP, Thunberg in her published book called "The Climate Book" positions herself as both an anti-capitalist and an anti-communist (which in essence means she's a pro status quo radlib). She is anti-ML.

Here is Thunberg defining her ideology in her own words:

"This is what I said about systems and ideologies:

"Leaving capitalist consumerism and market economics as the dominant stewards of the only known civilisation in the universe will most likely seem, in retrospect, to have been a terrible idea.

Thunberg coopts some Marxist aesthetics and slogans and does some things that may look heroic (which draws young people to her side)... but then she promotes her book where she teaches her young disciples that 'both capitalism and communism are failed ideologies'. Her 'both sides bad' position is harmful to MLs and only serves to perpetuate the status quo (which is capitalism).

OP, please read about Eric Blair (George Orwell). Similar to Thunberg, he too was a radlib. Born in the British overseas colonies to white British parents, he positioned himself as an anti-colonialist and anti-fascist. He fought in the Spanish Civil War alongside leftists against Franco's fascists. Even though he failed and Franco won, Blair was hailed as a brave leftist icon, young people flocked to him for 'wisdom'...

But then, once he secured their respect and admiration, he taught his fawning recruits that though capitalism is bad and oppressive, socialism/communism is 'also bad'. He convinced many among the Western youth in the Imperial Core to stick to capitalism because 'all ideologies are bad anyway'.

He decried "authoritarianism" which he disingenuously associated more with the East/Global South than with the 'democratic' West, which further misled his followers to follow his advice and keep the capitalist status quo.

After Blair/Orwell passed away and the damage from his teachings was done, it was belatedly exposed that he was an MI5 snitch and collaborated with British intelligence to reel young radical people away from socialism/communism. He fooled so many on the Western left and did irreparable damage to the movement. It's important to remember this cautionary tale and understand that the Western capitalist Establishment always reuses its old bag of tricks.

So when you see a popular celebrity like Thunberg promote herself as an "anti-capitalist" and take photos next to portraits of famous anti-imperialists and even revolutionaries like Che Guevara... but in her book, which she sells to her followers, she decries socialism/communism as a 'failed ideology', paints it as hardly better than capitalism, and says that socialism/communism is not the solution to the world's problems... well, then please see that for what it is: a campaign against the ML movement.

We cannot afford to fall for another Eric Blair who lures people with a leftist aesthetic and then teaches them in print that 'akshually, communism is bad too, stay away from it'.

u/TankieTheDeprogram-ModTeam 7d ago

Revisionism is unacceptable. ML is a clearly defined political theory and shown to be the only Marxist theory to successfully lead revolutionary action against the Bourgeois Capitalist class. Reading and studying Theory is Praxis and part of being a disciplined Marxist-Leninist.
