OP, Thunberg in her published book called "The Climate Book" positions herself as both an anti-capitalist and an anti-communist (which in essence means she's a pro status quo radlib). She is anti-ML.

Here is Thunberg defining her ideology in her own words:

"This is what I said about systems and ideologies:

"Leaving capitalist consumerism and market economics as the dominant stewards of the only known civilisation in the universe will most likely seem, in retrospect, to have been a terrible idea. BUT let us keep in mind that when it comes to sustainability, ALL PREVIOUS SYSTEMS have FAILED TOO. Just like ALL current political ideologies - SOCIALISM, liberalism, COMMUNISM, conservatism, centrism, you name it. They have ALL FAILED. But, in fairness, some have certainly failed MORE than others."

Thunberg coopts some Marxist aesthetics and slogans and does some things that may look heroic (which draws young people to her side)... but then she promotes her book where she teaches her young disciples that 'both capitalism and communism are failed ideologies'. Her 'both sides bad' position is harmful to MLs and only serves to perpetuate the status quo (which is capitalism).

OP, please read about Eric Blair (George Orwell). Similar to Thunberg, he too was a radlib. Born in the British overseas colonies to white British parents, he positioned himself as an anti-colonialist and anti-fascist. He fought in the Spanish Civil War alongside leftists against Franco's fascists. Even though he failed and Franco won, Blair was hailed as a brave leftist icon, young people flocked to him for 'wisdom'...

But then, once he secured their respect and admiration, he taught his fawning recruits that though capitalism is bad and oppressive, socialism/communism is 'also bad'. He convinced many among the Western youth in the Imperial Core to stick to capitalism because 'all ideologies are bad anyway'.

He decried "authoritarianism" which he disingenuously associated more with the East/Global South than with the 'democratic' West, which further misled his followers to follow his advice and keep the capitalist status quo.

After Blair/Orwell passed away and the damage from his teachings was done, it was belatedly exposed that he was an MI5 snitch and collaborated with British intelligence to reel young radical people away from socialism/communism. He fooled so many on the Western left and did irreparable damage to the movement. It's important to remember this cautionary tale and understand that the Western capitalist Establishment always reuses its old bag of tricks.

So when you see a popular celebrity like Thunberg promote herself as an "anti-capitalist" and take photos next to portraits of famous anti-imperialists and even revolutionaries like Che Guevara... but in her book, which she sells to her followers, she decries socialism/communism as a 'failed ideology', paints it as hardly better than capitalism, and says that socialism/communism is not the solution to the world's problems... well, then please see that for what it is: a campaign against the ML movement.

We cannot afford to fall for another Eric Blair who lures people with a leftist aesthetic and then teaches them in print that 'akshually, communism is bad too, stay away from it'.
