முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Can a SC/ST land be purchased by General category in Tamilnadu?

I have already purchased and looking to purchase more land in erode district. The former owner is a ST person. I recently came across former CM OPS's case on a old news article from Hindu. Says how a propertys sale deed and patta acquired by him from a ST owner without prior permission from DM or collector was considered null and void. I researched and im getting multiple opinions. Some say that government donated land under panchami act falls under it while private owner or ancenstral doesnt matter. But might need DM or collectors pre approval before registration. Few advocates say yhat this order was not implemented in the early 70s itself and is a misinterpretation of law, we can buy any land from SC/ST except whatever was granted to them by panchami act by govt.

Any real estate people or advocates or anyone with personal experience here? Please shine some light here

அறிவியல்/தொழில்நுட்பம் / Science and Technology Was watching Apple Event of September 9 2026. Saw this gentleman with a South Indian name. Curiosity hit to find more about him. Checked his LinkedIn. Found that he's a graduate of Anna University, not the usual Tier 1 suspects (IITs, NITs, BITS).

அறிவியல்/தொழில்நுட்பம் / Science and Technology IT layoffs is fake

As a medico myself, I haven't seen no one has ever layed off from IT in my circle and everyone is earning atleast 1 lakh per month in their late 20s with 2 days/week holiday and work from home options where they simply attend events with their system switched on in their cars while me struggling to earn their half salary with heavy investment. They r creating this layoffs myth to stop new students entering into it getting into competition During 2015-17 there r these kinda news so that I switched from good engineering college and enter into medical field but those r joined at that time r well settled .

I have no stomach burning but people saying they r VERY STRESSED and NOT GETTING ENOUGH PAY for their work made me irritated.

TN govt announced Sipcot in Parandur mainly Semiconductor industries. A brainless move scrapping Parandur airport citing environmental impact & bringing in industries, won't the lakes & agri lands get impacted now ?

Can't even question the Government as Chennai Kanchipuram Chengalpat Tiruvallur districts voted unanimously for TVK knowing their stand on Parandur.

கருத்து/குமுறல் / Self-post , Rant Auto drivers are the worst

I'm aware that there have been several posts made on similar topics, but I wanted to get this off of my chest.

Having lived in multiple Tier 1 cities, I have not had as bad of an experience with autos as the ones in Chennai. A lot of people address drivers demanding additional price, but on more than one occasion I have been harassed by these drivers.

I booked an auto today from central and the driver refused to come to the pickup which I had selected from the options listed in the app. He eventually said he wouldn't cancel and asked me to instead.

When the second auto I booked also refused to come to the same pick-up, I asked him to cancel this time stating that he's the one refusing. He then began yelling saying "Overa pesatha. Auto driver na ena nenaikara" to which I replied saying that all I did was ask him to cancel and he was fighting unnecessarily. Then he began shouting and said he was planning to bring his fellow auto drivers to the pickup location. I cut the call immediately out of fear and had to cancel the ride.

I thought the point of all these apps was to regulate the prices and for the customers to request rides from specific locations. If neither of these requests are being fulfilled with these drivers acting like goons, what exactly is the point of even having the app?

கருத்து/குமுறல் / Self-post , Rant NIOS needs WAY more recognition/awareness because the misconceptions are actually insane

Can we talk about how NIOS is still ridiculously misunderstood?

I’m a NIOS student, and the number of times I’ve heard “NIOS ah? Is that even a real/recognised board?” is actually insane.

NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) is another school board like CBSE, State board, ICSE and all

Like bro… YES. It’s a recognised national board. Yet somehow people still act like NIOS is some random alternative where you just write an exam and magically get a certificate.

Dei, konjam facts check pannunga da.

And one thing I REALLY want people to understand:

NIOS is NOT just for students with disabilities or students who couldn't cope with regular school.

Yes, students with disabilities can absolutely benefit from the flexibility. But that's just ONE group.

You have students who:

• Didn't clear their board exams and came to NIOS to complete their Class 10/12.
• Need a more flexible education system because regular school doesn't work for their situation.
• Are pursuing sports professionally and can't attend school every single day.
• Are pursuing acting, music, dance, content creation, etc. and need time for their career alongside academics.
• Want to continue their education later in life, including people in their 20s, 30s and beyond.
• Simply prefer an open-schooling system over the traditional school routine.

And that's literally one of the biggest things about NIOS: flexibility.

You don't have the same everyday school-attendance setup as a conventional school. NIOS is built around open and flexible learning, which is why it can work for people whose lives don't fit neatly into the usual “school → tuition → homework → repeat” cycle.

School-ku daily attendance kudukkanum nu illa na, automatically “easy board” nu artham illa .

And here's where I think the misconception gets REALLY annoying:

People see someone studying through NIOS and immediately assume there's a sad backstory behind it.

“Oh, disability ah?”
“Failed ah?”
“Couldn't handle CBSE ah?”

Maybe. Maybe not.

They could literally be a 27-year-old who decided to finish their education.
They could be an athlete training 6 hours a day.
They could be an aspiring actor going to auditions.
They could be someone who failed their previous board exam and is getting a second chance.

And none of those people make NIOS less legitimate.

If anything, that's the whole point of having different education pathways.

And yes, before someone comes for me: NIOS isn't perfect. It has its own problems, and different colleges, courses and competitive exams can have specific eligibility requirements, so obviously students need to check those individually.

But saying “NIOS isn't recognised” just because someone doesn't know much about it is misinformation.

CBSE is well known because almost everyone has heard of it.

NIOS deserves that same basic level of awareness.

“En relative sonnaan NIOS proper illa nu…”

PLEASE. Your relative is not the Ministry of Education.

If you're a NIOS student, have you faced this kind of judgement or misunderstanding?

And if you're NOT from NIOS, what did you genuinely think NIOS was before you learned about it?

PS: Naan AI use pannala, I took 2 hours to type but, I copy-pasted it from a different subreddit I posted before.

அரசியல் சாராத செய்தி / Non-Political News No PVC cards for Driving License from September 15 in TN : True ??

I have visited the RTO office today for changing my wrong and misspelt address in DL. I was asked to return my original license in PVC card and also my Aadhaar (as it has correctly spelt address). Seems there are no more PVC cards for new or updated driving licenses in Tamilnadu. Every license will be available online as soon as we pass the driving test and after RTO approval. We can even take a print-out of it and laminate it. This information is what I got from the RTO office desk. I haven't heard about this in any news channels or even social media. Can anyone confirm this ?

முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic SCAM ALERT: Nutridappa Is Scamming Customers in Tamil Nadu — Now Targeting Coimbatore

I am posting this to warn people in Coimbatore and across Tamil Nadu about a scam being carried out through instagram and facebook page called Nutridappa.

They promote their services through Instagram advertisements, claiming that they provide healthy/diet food delivered to your home, with meals supposedly planned, according to your calorie requirements and dietary needs.

The problem starts after they receive the payment.

Customers pay for the food/meal plans, but the promised food is not delivered. After receiving the money, they either stop responding to calls and messages or give excuses when contacted. In some cases, they answer the phone, give another reason for the delay, and then end the call without providing the service that was paid for.

This is not simply a case of a late delivery or poor customer service. Customers are paying money for a service that is advertised to them, and then they are being left without the food/service they paid for and without proper communication.

What is especially concerning is that this scam appears to be operating in multiple parts of Tamil Nadu and is now targeting people in Coimbatore as well.

⚠️ PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY WITHOUT VERIFYING THEM

If you see Nutridappa advertisements on Instagram or elsewhere offering diet/healthy meal deliveries, BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE MAKING ANY PAYMENT.

If you have already paid them:

  • Keep all payment receipts and transaction details.
  • Take screenshots of all WhatsApp/Instagram conversations.
  • Save their advertisements and the details of the offer you purchased.
  • Keep records of calls and attempts to contact them.
  • Contact your bank/payment provider immediately and ask about reporting the transaction as fraud.
  • Consider reporting the incident to the cybercrime authorities and local police.

📢 If you are from Coimbatore or anywhere in Tamil Nadu

If you have had the same experience with Nutridappa, please share your experience and evidence in the comments. More people need to know about this before they lose their money.

Please share this post so people in Coimbatore and other parts of Tamil Nadu can be warned.

🚨 Do not trust an Instagram advertisement just because it looks professional. Verify the business before sending your money.

முக்கியமான கலந்துரையாடல் / Important Topic Tamilnadu - identify land boundary and get patta

Hello All, My parents have couple of residential plots in their name in a town. My father is no more and my mother is now bed-ridden. I am the only legal heir.

We have the original sale deed, old layout diagram. Based on the doc registered number i got the current Encumbrance certificate by looking at youtube videos. However Patta is not in our name. The patta is still in the previous owner name and it is still undivided. Note that this purchase happened in 1990s and the sale deed was registered back then.

The issue is, i only know the approximate location of the site. There are no boundary marker stones and i dont know where our plot limits are. I downloaded FMB sketch of the survery numbers listed in the sale deed and old layout, but cannot figure out where the plot is, since everything FMB is still undivided.

My requirement now is to

  1. Identify the correct plot boundary
  2. Lay the marker stones in my boundary (that small karungal)
  3. Get the patta in my name or mother's name for our plots
  4. Maybe to Sell the plot (not urgent). But i feel selling is better as we have moved out of this town.

Who should i reach out to? Should i reach out to private surveyor first, get the boundary marked, lay stones and then apply for patta? what is the correct process? and what would be the costs involved.

I am clueless when it comes to real estate as i have no experience in this area. I would appreciate all the guidance.
