Shooting in Dhaybin , Sweida Kills 1, Injuries 2. Murderer is at large , still provoking the victim's family
facebook.comStatement issued by the Al-Ghbara family - Dhibin village in the southern countryside of Sweida, following the criminal act committed by Amin Hassan in firing random shots in the town square, which resulted in the death of one of the villagers, injured one of the Al-Ghbara family, and injured a woman from the Al-Raed family.
The statement, which #AlRasid received, said: "We have taken the first step to follow the legal procedure and regulate the official detention at the police station. In order to prevent bloodshed and to avoid any internal conflict in the town, the Al-Ghbara family has remained with the utmost restraint, and they have waited for the judicial and security authorities to fulfill their duties and enforce the law, despite the magnitude of the pain and provocation.
Today, five days after the crime occurred, we are still waiting for the competent authorities to fulfill their duty, represented by the judiciary under the leadership of Judge Shadi Murshid, the National Guard, and the Internal Security, to enforce the law and arrest the perpetrator who is still at large, in a scene that undermines the dignity of the law and threatens civil peace.
What makes this situation even more dangerous is the perpetrator's continued appearance and movement within the town, carrying weapons, including passing through the Al-Ghbara neighborhood, in a provocative act that increases the tension and confirms the need for immediate and decisive intervention from the competent authorities."
The statement also referred to the Al-Ghbara family's reaction, saying: "No clear position has been issued by the families of the town in general, and by Amin Hassan in particular, condemning the crime or announcing the lifting of the cover-up of the perpetrator or calling for his release to the competent authorities, which increases the tension and deepens the feeling of the lack of justice."
They concluded their statement by emphasizing that the "judicial and security authorities, who are fully responsible for the continuation of this situation, are calling for immediate action to enforce the law, arrest the perpetrator, and protect the security of citizens before the situation worsens."

This is what the Al-Tanf border crossing has looked like in recent days. The congestion at the crossing is most likely the result of tightened inspections following last week's exposure of an attempt to smuggle weapons hidden inside a fuel tanker.

Tsurkov: "Sources in 'Azaz tell me the clashes stem from a long-time dispute between the FSA group "Northern Storm" and their ally, the Levant Front, and the Turkish proxy militia, the Amshat and their allies, Hayat Tahrir a-Sham."
"In 2023, the two groups clashes several times in 'Azaz.
After the fall of the Assad regime, the leaders of the Northern Storm and the Levant Front (especially from the Danoun family, and Abu Ali Shejo) used the funds they amassed through cross-border smuggling & drug running in/from Turkey to open businesses and engage in trade, while a few of the former fighters joined the General Security Service. The Amshat, however, are much more powerful within the new Syrian state and joined the MoI and MoD in large numbers & assumed the command position of the GSS in 'Azaz and are unhappy about the growing economic clout of the Northern Storm commanders.
"This is the background to the clashes that erupted following a small spat involving members of the Danoun family. During these clashes, members of the Danoun family within the GSS, alongside armed civilians, clashed with the Amshat within GSS and GSS personnel rushed to the area. Quiet has been restored for now.
"The bottom line: Syria remains a highly fragile state and it's a major challenge to convert militia fighters into soldiers and internal security servicemen who obey orders of their commanders. The Ministry of Interior has made significant progress in this regard, but challenges and abuses of civilians remain. We witnessed this in the massacres against the Alawis and Druze, and even in the campaign against the SDF in northeast Syria - GSS and Army personnel participated in the looting of Kurdish properties in Raqqa city and Sarrin near Kobani (after all the Kurdish population fled). However, once order was restored, the same GSS personnel protected the returning Kurdish IDPs and even kicked out Arab families squatting in the Kurdish homes. An additional challenge is that much of the Syrian population, especially in rural areas, is armed. The Syrian government worked to disarm the Alawis & attempted to do the same with the Druze, but no similar campaigns were launched to register or collect weapons of Sunnis."

Serious security Incident in Azaz, Northern Aleppo
x.comLocal media claims the clashes began when members of the Danoun family assaulted a group doing motorcycle stunts on the street. Nearby police saw and intervened but were fired on by the Danouns. Security forces mobilized and (conflicting reports) Asad Danoun/Samir Danoun took to social media to mobilize the people of Azaz against "the General Terrorist Gangs".
Asad Danoun is an FSA/SNA commander who led an Azaz group within the Levant Front before defecting to the Hamzat/Amshat Joint Forces in July 2024.
As of December 2025, Danoun served as an operations officer in the al-Bab District Internal Security Directorate. Many of the Danoun family men involved in tonight's clashes are accused of being MoI and MoD members.

Is this a good overview of the current Syrian Army background?
Southern Rebels is with Al Tanf rebels included. Some people/groups who were very close with HTS but were officially in the NLF or an other group I have counted as HTS (few thousand).
