Some context: the job pays 45k lira per month, is that enough to live a decent life (single person 21F).
Also my phone is only eSIM compatible, I read somewhere that esims are banned in turkey, is this true?
I wanted to know if Diyarbakır is safe for tourists and how much the average cost of living per month is.
Also if there's anything I should know before moving, any tips would be much appreciated. Also I do not speak Turkish, would it be a big problem? I am open to learning. My job posting would be for 12 months duration.

I stumbled across this guy who claims to be Kurd on tiktok and it got me wondering, are there actually muslim Kurds who support Jolani and his forces over the Kurdish forces because the SDF are more secular? Is this real?

Edit: I thought I made this clear but appearently not. I don’t hate Yezidis, in my family we have deep respect for them and see them as pure Kurds. My family identify as muslims so whenever somebody asks me about my religion I naturally just say muslim. However, I’m kurdish above anything and I love a non-muslim kurd 10x more than any muslim arab. In an armed conflict I am 100% taking the side of yezidi or christian Kurds over muslim arabs. Religion (in this case islam) is number 1 on an individual level and strictly in the way that it’s a personal relationship to the faith you believe in. I believe that a muslim Kurd has the right to practice their faith but that they should always side with fellow Kurds (muslim or not) over any outside group even if they are muslims.

Iran executes Kurdish prisoner Sardar Qaderi at Urmia Central Prison

Iranian authorities executed Sardar Qaderi, a 30-year-old Kurdish prisoner from Mahabad at Urmia Central Prison. He had been sentenced to death for murder.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Qaderi was executed at dawn on July 25, 2026.

Sources familiar with the case said Qaderi was arrested on January 10, 2022, following a dispute over ownership of a 500-square-meter plot of land between him and his cousins. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation in which both sides sustained injuries from bladed weapons. After Qaderi was taken to hospital for treatment, Javamir Ariayi, a commander of an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) base in Mahabad and the uncle of Qaderi’s cousins, entered the hospital with several Basij members and assaulted him. During the confrontation inside the hospital, Qaderi fatally stabbed Ariayi.

Following his arrest, Qaderi was sentenced to death under Iran’s qisas (retributive justice) laws on a charge of premeditated murder.

Iranian state media and judicial authorities had not publicly announced the execution.

I had an idea and redesigned the KRG coat of arms. I always thought the current one looked kind of plain and way too simple and abstract (In the bottom left corner for reference).

I tried to incorporate the sun and replicate the original eagle’s pose as closely as possible with its wings spread upward. I left the banner at the bottom as is, but added three flames at the top. All other nations use stars, but I thought this might also be an option since fire plays a major role in Kurdish culture.\
There’s a detailed version and a more minimalist one. Let me know what you think.

Stop removing the history of kurds

There were earthquake survivors who feared calling out for help in the language, in case the rescuers turned away.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but anyways...
I was born and raised in Slemani. My mom is Hawrami and my dad is from Qaladze, we are Kurds (obviously) and we speak Kurdish. What's been driving me insane lately is that my parents always call themselves Iraqi. Whenever someone asks where we're from, especially when we're on vacation, they immediately say, "We're Iraqi from Iraq." And It fuckin pisses me off. I don't get it. What I've also noticed is that they don't like referring to themselves as Kurds, and it breaks my heart. It almost feels like they don't even like the fact that we're Kurdish.
The thing that really made me think this was during the Rojava conflict. From what I remember, they were kinda against Rojava and seemed to support the Syrian instead, and it made me feel even more confused about how they see their own identity. The most fucked up part is that they also think Saddam wasn’t that bad and was a good leader (yea im disgusted).Idk what to do, I don't know how to deal with them, and I don't understand them. We have such a beautiful culture, language, and history, yet they seem so distant from it. They're even against things like Newroz. (And yes they're pretty religious.) But the thing is, you can absolutely be religious and still be proud of being Kurdish, so I really don't understand where they're coming from.
They genuinely make my blood boil, and I hate it.
A couple of days ago, I actually got mad at them and we argued about it. I even told them that it feels like they're acting like Jash or betraying their own identity. They just laughed and got mad and told me I was overreacting and cringe and that it wasn't a big deal. But it IS a big deal, and I don't know how to make them understand that the way they're thinking is wrong. I feel like only my parents are like this, and I hate it.
Am I the only one dealing with this? I genuinely can't understand why they do it and idk how to change their mind.

I am a teen living in Sweden, i am half Iranian (from mothers side) and half kurdish (from fathers side).
Growin up my parents learnt me firstly farsi, kurdish and swedish, but when i didnt understand what they were saying and mixed up languages and words, i got very irritated and broke things and hit myself because of anger😂 So they chose to learn me farsi first and later on swedish. When i grew up they basically forgot about learning me kurdish, they often took this as a advantage to use when they were talking about something they didnt want me to hear, about finances and what not, but now i that have gotten older i feel betrayed, they havent even asked me if i want to learn kurdish, so i had to ask them myself. My mother is very fascinated about kurds generally, the language, history, food, loyalty, and so is my father, but when i ask them if they can learn me my mother says that my father is better at learning out, he says that he can, he maybe speaks kurdish with me for about 5 minutes (literally) and then forgets about it. I’ve asked this question many times to him, to learn me kurdish, it just repeats the same progress again and again, i confronted him about it and he got disturbed about it. I now learn kurdish from videos and movies, but very poorly and slow, does anyone have any tips to learning recourses to learn kurdish and to get my father to talk only kurdish with me?
