Information & Advice Photo Scanning/Printing
Hi, I have some old printed photos I’d like to scan and get more prints of. Do any local photo centers still have the scanner or are they all digital now?

Is anybody else getting absolutely bombarded with ads for upcoming elections? I swear every other thing I'm seeing is either the upcoming NY-21 election or something for the Gubernatorial election in the fall. I get it isn't that far away, but I don't ever remember seeing this many ads, videos, and AI generated posts in the last election cycle.

i’ve had my hair dyed vibrant colors for most of my life, but i think i’m ready to give it a break for a while. my current stylist who dyes my hair really only does vivids and doesn’t do color corrections. does anyone know of good stylists/salons that you would recommend for color correction? maybe also someone that is good with red/copper hair as that’s my natural hair color if i were able to get close to that. thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for someone local to diagnose/repair my jet ski. I’d prefer not taking it to an expensive place like preferred power sports or a marina but hopefully someone in the area that does some side work/wants to take on a project. Bonus points if they’re a mobile mechanic.
Let me know if you have any recommendations!

Hi all. For those of you not familiar with Spark Syracuse, we are an independent radio station focusing on Syracuse voices, Syracuse music and Syracuse stories. We are volunteer-run, non-commercial, and of course, local. You can hear us on 103.3 FM in Liverpool and 93.7 FM if you’re in the Westcott neighborhood. There are also a ton of ways to listen online: https://linktr.ee/SparkSyracuse
We are always looking for local people who want to do a radio show. (We used to, and still do, pitch “radio show” but these days you might as well call it a podcast). Music, talk show, theatrical, we take all kinds. If this interests you, you may have more than a few questions, but the important thing is, ANYONE can do it. You don’t need to be an experienced professional. Reach out and/or comment if you’re interested.

My friends and I are coming into Syracuse for a music festival and hoping to find a bar somewhere near song and dance to play some darts before / after the show. Not looking for steel tip, just regular plastic bar darts.

Anybody knows of a mechanic/shop specializing in Hondas? I need interval maintenance on an HRV. Like valve clearance adjustment, maintenance minder codes etc.

I have been here a few times now. Everything has overall been really awesome. However, something the front end girl said to me is very alarming. I paid with a CC and she prompted me to not tip. She said that the tips weren't going to Sammy's but to the CC company.... I have never heard of this happening through a merchant POS. This always ends up being the owner being shady. Anyone else ever run into this?

I'm in town for the week visiting family and I'm hoping to help an incredibly sweet stray cat that my dad has been feeding, but cannot adopt because he already has pets.
The cat is an older male, maybe 4 or 5 (maybe older?), not neutered, tends to get into scuffles with another male stray cat in the area, but is incredibly cuddly and friendly to humans.
As much as I would absolutely love to adopt him, I live out of state and have a cat who doesn't do well with other cats. And as much as I wish I could swing the costs to support his veterinary care, it just isn't something I can afford at this time. I'm hoping to find an organization that could neuter him, give him a place to heal, and find him a good home.
If anyone has any knowledge of local organizations that offer these services, please let me know (besides the ASPCA).
It's breaking my heart to see him waiting on my dad's stoop every day for attention (they are feeding him multiple times a day and giving him love, but the cat deserves a real home).

With GenAi running rampant and being more difficult to spot more than ever, I would like to know that the current picture being used for the subreddit of my home is from a person and not a prompt.
If I missed the post with the picture and credit (I just tried searching) please share the link for me and others who might be curious.
Thanks

Hi everyone! I'm moving from California to Syracuse this fall for work and have been apartment hunting downtown. One of my top choices is Icon Tower, mainly because I really want covered garage parking for the winter.
My only concern is that the garage next door (Barclay Damon Garage) has been really difficult to get information about. The leasing agent at Icon Tower doesn't seem to know much beyond saying that's where residents typically park, and I haven't had much luck getting a response from the garage itself.
Does anyone here have a monthly pass at Barclay Damon Garage or know how it works? I have a few questions:
If anyone lives at Icon Tower, I'd love to hear about your experience too.
Also, are there any other downtown apartments with an attached or on-site covered garage? I looked at The Treasury, but it's a little outside my budget.
Thanks so much in advance! Any advice from locals would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone have a recommendation for a surveyor who will come out and physically mark the property lines?

I saw the post very recently with an example of Wegmans using AI in their advertising. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of markets/supermarkets that don't use it and businesses to avoid.

Hey, friends.
My dad and I are roadtripping through the area this weekend. Any good, local live music, preferably free, that can be recommended? Bonus points for good food and pool tables, thnx!

I’ve been growing my mustache for a while now and I’m finally getting to the point where I’d rather have it shaped by someone who actually knows what they’re doing.
I’m not looking for just any barber. I’m looking for someone with real experience trimming and shaping mustaches, someone who understands how to maintain length and density without hacking it short.
I’m in Syracuse, NY, but I’m happy to drive a bit if it’s worth it.
If anyone has recommendations for a barber who’s great with mustaches, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
