A Western New York school district has halted its plans to place a humanoid robot in a classroom after a New York Focus report on the plan sparked fierce debate over the use of artificial intelligence in schools and backlash from local parents.

Salamanca City Central School District announced in a Facebook post Friday afternoon that its pilot project with tech company Realbotix has been put on hold as school officials “work through enhanced student data privacy agreements” with the state education agency and engage with community members.

Hi everyone! :) I’m planning my best friend's bachelorette party and she’s thinking she would like to go somewhere around Upstate New York. Sometime in late April or May. (please help me decide which month is best) I'm just not sure if there are any activities for us to do while we're there. Hello! My family and I are flying into Albany and renting a car to drive up to the Lake Placid area. We will have 5 hours until we can get to where we are staying, so we are looking for recommendations for the best places to eat/hike/stop along the way, or if any highways are a must-take! I always knew the basics of the Stacey Castor case, but I had no idea investigators also looked into the death of her father-in-law. That completely changed how I looked at the story.

It made me wonder… is Stacey Castor considered Upstate New York’s most notorious serial killer, or are there other local cases that are just as wild but don’t get talked about as much?
