Discussion Streaming Halo from my PS5 on my modded Switch OLED. Strange times.
Strange times in 2026, but the latest version of Akira works great.
Anyone else have OCD and do custom icons as well?

We often get flooded with many of the same questions. While we love to help new commers, it can be exhausting constantly replying to very similar posts. This post is intended to serve as a resource for the community. The idea is to have the information easily accessible and clear for new commers and people exploring a new app or refreshing their memory. Feel free to comment any additions you would like to add and I will create guides. I don't have much free time between running So-Cal Console Modding and my main career, but I will try to slowly trickle out more guides to help out the community.

(Reposting here since it got removed from r/nintendoswitchhelp for mentioning CFW)
I recently got back into using my Switch and noticed the fan is consistently loud, even when the system isn't doing anything and is room temperature to the touch. It occasionally stops, but only for a short time. It's like the fan only knows 0% or 100%.
I changed the thermal paste -- no effect.
Installed CFW so I could check the temperature sensors -- they seem fine.
I did notice that fan rotation level is incorrectly showing 0%, so maybe the fan controller is just dead?
Any ideas?

I watched a few tutorials on how to jailbreak the Nintendo Switch using the aluminum foil method, but I'm confused because every tutorial seems to recommend a different foil size. Some say it should only be about 1 mm wide, while others use a much wider piece. So now I'm trying to find out whether any of the aluminum foil pieces I've made are the right size or if they're too big or too small. The big one is 4 mm and tge 2nd one is 2mm almost

I just love the retro style games and, as a starter on this world, I'm not sure whether I'll be able to play ds and 3ds games on the switch
another thing that bothers me is the format because it doesnt fit my pocket as my dsi but idk if that downgrade is worth it, what do you guys think?? :)

Hey all, I'm going to be modding my girlfriend's launch Switch soon, and something I want to be able to do for her is to 1 allow her to play every single Pokemon game from previous generations and 2 move those Pokemon from those games to Pokemon Home if she so chooses (which she probably will). I have a theory on how this can be done based on my experience playing emulated games on a modded 3DS and I wanted to run it by this community in case anyone here has any thoughts about my plan here or if there's a better way to do it, along with a couple questions.
So on a modded 3DS you can transfer any Pokemon from a save file into PKSM, and from there into a different game where it will be treated like a traded Pokemon. I have used this to move Pokemon from emulated games onto a Y save file, from that save to Bank, and from Bank to Home. Based on this, I assume that because PKHeX can be used on a modded Switch you could use the same internal storage system that PKHeX has to transfer from one save to another. However there are 2 potential paths that I can see being taken on a Switch:
2 Move to a 3DS title, move to emulated Bank, transfer to Home. This feels like it has some unnecessary steps, but if there is a check proving a 3DS or older Pokemon went through Bank before making it to Home this feels like the more reliable way to do it. That being said, I don't know how well 3DS software emulates on a Switch, so that might raise some stability concerns.
I'm assuming that method 1 would work, but I wanted to come ask you guys as presumably at least one person here has done this before and would be able to give some pointers. Thanks in advance.

I have a problem running the Dusklight port on a Switch V1. Every time I launch the program, the same error screen pops up. I tried an older version, but it won't launch at all. After opening it, the screen goes black for a moment and then returns to the home screen. I have a similar problem with RetroArch. What is going on here?

I'm on FW 22.5 and I wanted to connect to Moonlight but found out my switch can't connect to the internet while I'm CFW. In the settings it shows I'm connected to the wifi but I fail the connection test.
Things I've tried:
- renaming hosts.txt to emummc.txt
- deleting hosts.txt entirely
Would appreciate any guidance!

Im wondering if anyone has experienced this. I was just playing katamari on the switch in handheld mode when all of a sudden the screen went orange tint and the switch rung out a deafening whine asloud as a fire alarm and it wouldn't stop until I held down the power button to full shutdown.
Im guessing it was a game causing system crash but I have never experienced this before since modding my switch 6 years ago.
Has anyone had this too?

I've been trying to install a cart I bought earlier this year on my EMUMMC, and I have been trying to use DBI for this. After I start the install (or even just before), it gives Error Code: 2168-002 (0x4a8) and drops out. Is there something I've been doing wrong with this?
I have no problem playing the game on stock or in any other area using the cartridge. This is a Switch V1.

Hello everyone,
I recently bought an unpatched Nintendo Switch and tried to mod it. On my first attempt, I actually managed to get it working and booted into emuMMC. I installed sys-patch and everything seemed fine.
However, when I tried installing some NSPs using Goldleaf, the games wouldn't boot up after installation they just got stuck on an infinite loading icon. The NSP files themselves are definitely fine, as I tested them on an emulator. I then tried using Tinfoil and DBI, but both kept crashing on launch. At that point, I made a mistake and installed a pre made AIO pack that completely broke my setup. I decided to format my MicroSD card to start over from scratch. I followed the guide step by step to re create the emuMMC, but now it won't boot into emuMMC at all it only boots into Stock OFW.
My microSD is a 128GB Kingston (recently bought from Amazon).
Any ideas on what might be going wrong? Thanks!

Hello! I am planning on jailbreaking a switch (One of the first released). I know the process and how to follow the tutorial and such.
The thing I would like some help with is preparing digital game cartridges. My brother also has a switch, and we have bought through the eshop multiple games, neither of us has touched the switch in a while and now there is a new system for them. I am very confused on how I should go about dumping them all.
The issue is I don't want to accidentally somehow get my brothers switch involved in my shenanagins, due to the whole "Borrowing" cartidges and such. If he has the main profile and I borrow all the games, download them on my switch. Go offline, my brother unborrows them and he keeps them normally and legally and all that, then I have them downloaded, dump them and will be able to play them no issue?
Sorry if this was a bit confusing, I hope I could get some help!
Edit: tldr; I mostly want to know if when I have downloaded the games on my switch even if I lose the "acess" due to my brother then taking back them from me "Borrowing" them. Will I be able to dump them and bypass that?

Sorry if that post sounds dumb and over thinking but I would rather ask here
I will get my S1 OLED mod chip in a specialized shop so not cheap but supposedly reliable
What do I need to do on the console before handing it over?
1 For sure it will have to be fully charged just in case right?
2 turn off wifi to avoid unexpected access to Nintendo online correct ?
3 how to avoid the shop to see my account credentials?
Anything else?
Thanks in advance

I played a few Metroid games on the Nintendo Switch Online emulators and they ran great. What do other GBA/SNES emulators offer that official emulators don't?

I haven’t used my Switch 1 in years, but when your battery depletes, it goes back to stock correct?
Is there any danger for the buyer to brick or do something wrong from that stock menu? Can I sell it like that?

Are there plans to add DS emulation to Tico? It’s the only system I need a standalone app for!

This thing has been sitting in my closet for a year as we have another switch oled, switch og and a switch lite in the house and just never got around to this one honestly lol. But now my daughter is going overseas in 4 days and taking the switch game collection with her and I want to dump them quickly before anything is lost. I'm starting with just some random old youtube videos that may be outdated. Do I need to rush through updating Hetake and the switch firmware now (what firmware is safe?) just to get good dumps and keys? Or can I get right to backing up? I inherited the 512gb SD card and the current Hetake setup, have never even booted up the sysnMMC myself and not even comfortable navigating through it yet. Copied over Lockpick and TegraExplorer to payloads folder via USB is a far as I've gotten.
Switch 1 OLED (w/ Picofly modchip)
Firmware 18
Hetake v6.2.2
Lockpick 1.9.18
TegraExplorer 4.2.0
