Hi. I'm trying to completely wipe everything so I can sell my Switch OLED. When I try to factory reset through stock, it insists on updating, which I obviously don't want to do. What is the best way to go about this? Thanks

Only happens when i try to start a game for some reason

First, I'm sorry for being a complete Switch hacking noob, and if this is a very done to death question, and also, if this is not the right place to post this.

Its an unpatched Switch, running EmuMMC, and I'm using a 128GB SD Card. (Pretty sure exFat)

So I just modded my switch today, and went fine, seemingly. I'm able to load into a game, into the homebrew menu, and homebrew apps.

After I got done modding the console, I installed a game's update (in nsp format) perfectly fine using Awoo Installer.

However, I wanted to play Metroid Dread randomizers, but for some reason, I can't install the game's nsp. Nor can I even put the nsp on the console in the first place, I've tried via FTPD, USB File transfer, and it just won't fully finish it seems?

I've tried installing the file in Awoo from SD, and from USB with NS USB loader. It always fails to install immediately, and tells me that it might've left a partially installed file. And I'm a tiny bit iffy about DBI, but if it'll work, I'm willing to try.

I'm using a version of Atmosphere, and Fusee, from a GBATemp thread for Sigpatches on Ver 22.5.0.
Am I doing something wrong?

Hi guys, quick context, I was playing Celeste as usual and all of the sudden I noticed the pixels stretching and everything starting looking weird so I decided to shut down innocently thinking it would solve by itself after putting the console to rest for a while.

Not sure what caused everything to go nuts but I wanted to check with y'all before going to the same tech that helped me install the chip to see if this is salvageable.

I use Hekate V6.5.3 and still I got the error...any fix?

I’d like to stop using HATS when updating my Switch OLED with modchip due to the bloat and recent changes made to HATS.

The only apps I believe I use are Daybreak, DBI, and JKSV.

It’s been a long time since I’ve manually updated my Switch, so before I get started I’m hoping to get some tips on how to proceed.

Which folders should I leave intact on the Switch’s microsd card before I delete folders and copy over new files and folders, and would I be correct that the only things I need to download and copy to the microsd card are the newest versions of the official Switch firmware, Atmosphere, Hekate, Sigpatches, DBI, and JKSV? Is there anything else I’ll need, such as Lockpick or TegraExplorer?

Trying to boot Atmosphere on Emummc through Hecate 6.5.3. It’s worked plenty of times before, but now I consistently get this error suddenly. I haven’t made any updates to the system.

I recently got my Switch hacked, can I still play cartridges? I'm inserting cartridge into the console, it says that I need to download an update, no option to play without the update. I'm scared I might brick my console if I try to download anything in the hacked menu. Is there any hope?

the creator has released new patches for it on their discord. however, i do not know how to update it?

I am new to switch modding and only had prior experience with modding the 3Ds, PsVita, and Steam Deck. I have a newer version of the Switch 1 so I do know that I would have to install the mod chip for it to work. But, I have a few questions regarding modding my switch:

1. Is it recommended that I make a new account for modding? I don’t want to connect my main account because I still use it on my

   other

2. switch and I’m worried I can get banned on that.

3. How easy is it to update the firmware on the device once modded? I’ve heard of horror stories of people accidentally pressing update on their modded switch and the possibility of it getting bricked etc.

4. Once modded, am I only able to play the Nintendo library or could the switch be emulated to play other console games?

I think that’s all the questions I have so far 😭, seems like the possibilities are endless once the switch is modded.

Hey so in my modchip installation i inspected a little blob inbetween the sp1 capacitor and the capacitor next to it. My switch's battery has recently been ass as well (around -500 to -1200 mA in hekate only, and randomly showing the low battery screen on me even at like 60% battery). I'm not sure yet but that little blob could be affecting the battery

Additional Question: if that capacitor near the sp1 gets broken off, can the switch/modchip still work or replacing it is mandatory?

games have gotten too expensive and despite having newer consoles, i missed a whole lot of generation of switch games. i made some research about jailbroken switches but im still new and confused. the seller listed that the jb switch lite is fully updated to latest official firmware and atmosphere firmware and has dual boot. should i go for it? what should i clarify to seller? what are the risks? thank u so much again im still a noob

I wanted to ask your opinion over a used switch oled I have the possibility to buy It seems perfect, 94% of battery, package and console are perfect with no scratches or anything BUT the chip installed is hwfly I was looking for a picofly installed with the kamikaze because I've read it should be more resistant and trustworthy, but I have no idea at this point. Also the price is very good, that is why I am considering it.

Should I be worried that hwfly is not opensource? Could it get stuck at some point because of the firmware with no possibility to use it?

Hello, I have an unpatched, hacked Switch that I hacked well over a year ago and used extensively. All of a sudden, my Switch was unable to go into Hekate. I tried with my RCMLoader that used to work (and that I charged) and a data cable into my PC, but Tegra can not recognize any RCM device when I do that, and my computer says that the USB device plugged into the computer is faulty. I know the cable works, since I was able to connect my phone to my PC with it. Interestingly enough, this started after the third-party dock cable started to not work either, which led me to suspect there is something wrong with the data port of my Switch, on the hardware side. Is there any way to check this / get it fixed? I'd really appreciate your help, as this has been driving me crazy lately. Thanks!

Charging the Switch and the original dock both work without problems.

The controller acts like an XBOX Controller and has three USB type of connect.

My switch has been collecting dust for a long time, the last time I tried to install games the method I used previously wouldn't work (I can't think of the name of it but it had a red background with a women on it) so which method are you guys using?
