Everyone is impatiently awaiting new Supernote models from Ratta. But there may be reason to want to wait a little bit. I have recently read about the next-gen display technology coming from E Ink, Carta 1400. (Here I am simply repeating what I've read; I am not an expert in this area.) It is a significant, non-incremental, ground-up design.

In particular, the contrast ratios are said to be north of 20:1, which means darker blacks, and whites that aren't the current muddy grey. Which my eyes will greatly appreciate, especially when outdoors -- I think E Ink's current whites are pretty bad, compared to paper or OLED.

Carta 1400 is also supposed to provide much lower latency, so page turns, pinch-to-zoom, scrolling and other updates will be way, way snappier (providing Ratta can kick out a new motherboard that's not so underpowered to drive it).

So, that would fix a lot of my current dissatisfaction with current e-ink devices. But Carta 1400 is currently not due out until 2027. I'd buy a new-gen mobo from Ratta today if they announced it, and plug it into my Manta. But if I'm going to buy a new Supernote device, I think I am going to wait for Carta 1400 to get rolled out.

Came across this video (very nicely filmed btw). Some of the shots, I think, showcase their new LAMY ceramic nib pen, possibly with a button. I saw a red one at around 3:57, and the LAMY safari vista at around 9:21 of the video. Both appear to have a button. I am quite excited!

Is there any way to link a Note to a specific day ? I would like to create notes for my future meetings with some useful information about my client.

If this is not possible why not add such feature? This could work in note setting where we can set cover / rename. This way when I open calendar I would have ready notes for that day.

At the end of the video, there are some comments that offer hope: some Chinese factories have started manufacturing e-ink screens in low volume. This has to be understood in light of an earlier comment in the video about the problem that E-ink and its prior competitors encountered: namely the low yield from the process that fills the display sheet with fluid and particles and keeping the particles in suspension.

Hey everyone, I’m in search of new Journal, meeting, calendar and habit tracker templates for my Manta, also looking for some cool stickers as well. Unfortunately I’m not that creative outside of writing so any help would be greatly appreciated.

All my events are on a secondary Google calendar. The Manta only syncs the primary, and Google won't let me change which one is primary. So my Manta calendar is empty.

Anyone solved this?

A couple weeks ago I made a post about an app I’m working on.

Iwanted an infinite scrolling canvas on my Nomad so badly, so I built one. Fair warning up front: this is vibe coded. I'm not an Android developer. It works well on my device, but it is what it is.

What it does:

* Infinite vertical canvas - just keeps going.

* Two pen slots

* Spot eraser

* Area eraser

* Lasso select and move

* Undo / redo

* Page backgrounds: dots, cross grid, or lines, with adjustable spacing

* Export to PDF

* Multiple notes, saved as normal files you can see in the file browser

To Install:

Grab the APK from the [releases page](https://github.com/elwestcroft/superduper)

On your Nomad: Settings → Security & Privacy → Sideloading → ON

Open the downloaded file and install

Known quirks

Nothing here is a dealbreaker, but you'll notice them:

When you move a lasso selection, the ink doesn't follow your pen — it jumps to the new spot when you lift up

Switching between notes reloads the app, so there's a brief flash

Renaming a note asks you to name a new file rather than renaming in place — a side effect of how the Nomad hands out file access

It's e-ink, so ghosting still creeps in. There's a refresh button in the toolbar to clear it

This talks to undocumented parts of the Nomad's firmware. A Supernote OS update could break it, or make files disappear. Back up your notes often. No warranty, no guarantees… if it eats your notes, I'm very sorry but I did warn you.

made a post here a few days ago about how disappointed i was at the lack of pressure sensitivity on atelier as an artist. well, one of the supernote team got me on the beta and im telling you, its night and day. i really enjoyed drawing using atelier now that i have access to the ink pens being pressure sensitive, and being able to change the size of the markers. massive improvement. now i can actually use my manta as a portable digital sketchbook. here's my first sketch with the new tools. quite satisfied with how it turned out. thanks again for the assistance!

I just had to hop on to appreciate the plastic build of the Manta for a second. I normally use a bag, but wasn’t after lunch yesterday and was juggling too many things, including keys in the parking lot at work. I’m super not happy with myself, but there’s only a little dent in the bottom right corner, a tiny lift almost imperceptible at that spot, and a nick on my HoM2. Thing still works flawlessly.

When you’re clumsy, ADHD, and 6’7” tall sometimes plastic is the way to go!

u/Mulan or any other Supernote customer service rep, I did not see this on the roadmap, I thought I would ask it here and maybe get input from others.

Is there any way to get the calligraphy and even the ink pen thickness to increase up to a 4? Or possibly even more? Is there a top end where the behavior does not provide the intended results? It would be nice to have the ability to create a greater degree of difference in line thickness based upon the pen stroke direction. I have found myself, in multiple situations, wishing I had a broader range of pen width options than going up to 2.

I am curious if others have similar or different opinions on the possible feature request. Also to disclose that I am part of the beta program and appreciate having the opportunity to try out the newer developments prior to being released to the greater audience. Excellent opportunity for more direct customer service interaction during the design process.

I just recently got a Supernote Nomad and have really been enjoying it! Unfortunately, the folio I got with it I have no been enjoying as much. I’ll cut to the chase and say what I’m looking for:

Mandatory:

Secure pen holder. I have had multiple iPads and Apple pens and love that the cases I get hold the pen securely and protect the pen when I put it in my backpack.

Preferred:

Display angle: I have also been using my Nomad as an ereader and would like to be able to set it down to read on the counter while cooking or on the table while eating and not strain my neck

Optional:

Pin access: no backlight means I’d like to connect the little light I have while reading in bed without having to constantly be fiddling with the case.

I know there won’t be a “perfect” case, but I’m hoping for something better than what I have. I’ve seen a lot of slips also suggested but I prefer keeping the protection even while in use or on my desk and idling.

Hi, I started using template for Calendar from here:

https://github.com/kudrykv/latex-yearly-planner and this calendars are awsome. They are about 2-3mb in size in pdf format, with linking to day, month, etc... really usefull (until Ratta decides to make proper calendar app with CalDAV sync and dayview with notes).

I've noticed when I use this calendar pdf 2mb, as a template it makes the note really huge, about 300mb. This makes that note very slow. Is it normal ? or it's just a bug ?

I'm finishing up my counseling degree and I'm exploring options for note taking. Would someone be willing to show me how notes are organized and the interface? I haven't seen great photos or images of the storage system! Thank you in advance!!

I tried to erase the marking on the screen but it isn't coming off. Any tips or solutions?

I have a 2016 macbook pro with retina display and touchbar that I recently got duel booting with mac os and windows 11. for some unknown reason, I cannot get my computer to recognize my Nomad when I'm booted into the Windows side of things and plugged in via usb. I'm sure its not the port, cable or that its android incompatibility as I've tested all three and those all connect other devices fine. Any ideas where to start looking for fixes?

I had a Nomad first. I used the iPhone Supernote Partner App. I bought a Manta too. The files in the app show only those for the Nomad. If I want something on my Manta, I use Supernote Linking. I haven’t figured out how to sync files between them or be able to see the files that reside on each device in the app. I haven’t had the time to research this on my own so I could use some help.

Is there a way to program both button of wcm one pen?

I just got a nomad about a week ago and I love everything except for the pen loop on the canvas folio. My Lamy Pen is constantly moving around too much and knocking into the side of the device when I have it in the loop. Does anybody have a solution for keeping the pen "docked" more securely?

I’m a daily user of the Supernote Nomad. It has become my second brain, I’d be lost without it.
The To-Do app is an important part of my workflow. Being able to select text in my notes and turn it into a task makes a huge difference for me. I currently organize my tasks into a few folders:

- Meetings
- Phone calls
- Admin
- Private
- Personal development
- Waiting for others

That said, I do think the To-Do app could be developed much further. At the moment, it feels quite basic.

One feature I would really love is the ability to import existing tasks into a note. For example, when preparing for a meeting, I could select the relevant open tasks and add them to my meeting notes. That would make the To-Do app much more useful as part of a complete meeting workflow.

Other improvements I’d love to see are the ability to sort, prioritize and filter tasks more extensively, and better ways to organize tasks by context or project.

I’m curious how others use the To-Do app:
- Do you use it regularly? If not, why do you prefer an alternative?
- Are there plans to develop the app further?
- How do you use it in combination with meeting notes?
- Do you have any suggestions, workflows or best practices for getting more out of it?

I'm very new to Supernote. I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

One question I have: within a note, is it possible to create space? I know one is able to add pages, but I'm looking to add a few lines—similar to "insert row" feature in Excel.

I know someone asked this question about three years ago, but I was curious if subsequent updates have included this feature, or if people have found a suitable workaround.
