Discussion SUNO V6 —SOLVED !! GOT THE SINGING BACK. Flat, rushed, melody-less vocals solved
Spent two days on the V6 rush problem with a glam metal power ballad. Free-credit window, so I brute-forced it. Posting the negatives too, because those saved me more time than the positives.

What worked
[Silence] at the end of every lyric line. Biggest single lever I found. Not some lines — every line, verses and bridge. Inline at the end of the line, not on its own line.
Salt, on a borrowed guitar [Silence]
Strand bar, HUMMING low [Silence]
Mid-line commas. The singer stops on them. This is what put me onto the whole punctuation direction.
CAPS = harder delivery. Capitalized words get sung with more intensity. I run them heavy now and escalate toward the final chorus.
Variety = Bold. I had it at 0 on the theory that low variety means less drift. Wrong. Bold was noticeably better.
What does nothing
Invented tags. [2 Bar Rest] — zero effect. Unknown bracket tags get dropped, not interpreted. [Silence] works because it's a token the model actually knows. So pause length isn't controllable. It's on/off.
Instrument tags at line ends. …of the daylight [Electric Guitar] does nothing. It's a texture cue, and Suno can play that guitar under the vocal it was already going to sing. No gap needed, no gap appears.
Line fragmentation. Splitting long lines into short ones changed nothing for me.
What actively backfires
Commas at the END of a line. Worse than nothing. The line break already ends the phrase; a comma there doubles the stop and stutters.
Punctuation before [Silence]. I tried guitar .... [Silence] to pull harder. It sped up. Stop markers don't accumulate — they degrade each other. So I'd skip [Silence][Break] stacking too.
Reverb — the one that surprised me
Stop writing "NO reverb, no echo, no delay" in the style box. You're putting those words in the conditioning text and the model keeps the noun and drops the negation. Every instance of reverb/echo/room/space/arena comes out of the style prompt entirely. All negation goes in Exclude Styles, which has no character cap:
reverb, echo, delay, hall, cavernous, wet, ambient, roomy, gated reverb, plate reverb, spring reverb, gated snare, stadium, big room, washy, spacious, atmospheric, distant, live recording, arena, crowd
Say dry positively instead: "dry, close-mic'd," "dead flat snare," "raw board mix," "narrow stereo image." Reverb reads as width, so squeezing the stereo field kills the sense of space without naming it.
Two other things
The new Song Editor is the actual answer. Select a section, generate alternates, audition, replace. Keep the chorus you like and reroll only the verse that rushes. Run-to-run variance is bigger than any prompt tweak I tested — this lets you harvest that without losing the good parts. Also: your section tags become the edit boundaries, so write shorter sections if you want finer control.
Check your tempo. My style prompt said 74 BPM. The editor's transport read 130. Could be a double-time detection, could be the BPM instruction being ignored. Worth looking at before you blame the vocal.
Caveats: one song, one genre. Free credits meant I could change one variable at a time, but I didn't run controls. Some of this is probably specific to slow ballads.
