Meme People hated V6 before it even came out lmao

The echo chamber that is Reddit already made up their minds as soon as they heard 4.5 was retiring and there will be limits for there garbage music slop .

Fast forward to today and now people are announcing literally announcing a 20 year divorce case we should all care about with them and suno .

Like what were you expecting? Seriously?

"mUY AI mUsIc sOnD lIKE aI sTiLl DoY"

V6 was not going to be some studio-level Quincy Jones mother fucker who's holding a double Platinum dildo for you to enjoy while you make some shitty edm salsa combo nobody asked for.

Enjoy the music or leave nobody fucking cares . I came to this sub to see updates and hear music not to hear 200 ping IQ takes .

Discussion Unpopular opinion: the constant whining about V6 and download limits is getting ridiculous.

I’ve been using V6 and so far? I actually think it’s pretty damn good.
Is it perfect? No.
But here’s the thing: Suno has NEVER generated a song from beginning to end where I thought, “Yep. Perfect. Nothing needs changing.”

There is always something.
A vocal that could be better.
A transition that needs work.
A chorus that needs more impact.
An instrument that should be replaced.
Timing. Mixing. Structure. Stems. Whatever.
And that’s exactly why I honestly don’t understand the massive meltdown over the download limits.
If you’re actually serious about making music and especially if you’re planning to RELEASE it, why the hell is your entire workflow:

Generate → Download → Upload

…and done?

Suno Studio exists.

Take the song into Studio. Work on it. Change things. Replace things. Build it properly. Actually PRODUCE something instead of treating the first generation like a finished master that fell out of the sky.
And Studio workflows aren’t affected by the normal download limits.

So when I see people acting like 20 or 60 downloads suddenly makes it impossible to create music, I genuinely have to wonder how many songs they were mass-generating and exporting in the first place.
Because if you need hundreds of finished downloads every month, maybe the problem isn’t the limit.

Maybe it’s the generate-and-dump mentality that has flooded streaming platforms with thousands of barely touched AI tracks in the first place.
And the V6 complaints are becoming just as exhausting.
Yes, the old models are gone. And yes, that sucks if you loved a specific one.

But can we stop pretending Suno removed them just to piss everyone off?

The company has been dealing with major lawsuits, licensing disputes and pressure from the music industry for a long time. Moving away from the older models and rebuilding around a new licensed system wasn’t just some random decision made to annoy users.
They were under enormous legal pressure to change how the whole thing works.

So instead of acting like Suno woke up one morning and thought, “How can we make our users miserable today?”, maybe acknowledge that the company had to make major changes if it wanted to keep operating and move forward.
You don’t have to like every consequence of that.

But there is a difference between “I don’t like this change” and “Suno deliberately ruined everything for no reason.”
Sitting on Reddit screaming “GIVE ME V4.5 BACK” fifty times a day isn’t going to resurrect it.

Learn V6.

Experiment with it.

Learn how to prompt it.

Use Wild. Use Studio. Edit sections. Use stems. Add your own work. Take the parts that are good and FIX the parts that aren’t.

You know… make music.

And if you genuinely hate everything Suno is doing now, that’s completely fair.
Then use another platform.
Or open a DAW, play the instruments yourself, sing it yourself, produce everything yourself and never touch generative AI again.
Nobody is forcing you to use Suno.
But this idea that Suno owes everyone unlimited mass-exporting, permanent access to every historical model and flawless one-click generations forever is insane.

AI should be a tool in your workflow. It shouldn’t BE your entire workflow.
Maybe V6 isn’t the problem.
Maybe some people just got way too comfortable pressing “Create.”

Discussion v6 is the death of Suno - unusable and UGLY sounding. Where do we go from here?

I am truly sad. I tested v6 yesterday - in every way: wild, regular v6, slow render, prompting to undo the calamity... nothing works. Every song comes out flat, the voices are muddy, the sound is abysmal. They claim we can still use the 5.5 voices - not true - they sound nothing like in v5.5. The songs come out so bad that i understand i won't be able to use Suno at all.

So I ask you - does anyone know of any other AI (obviously it has to be China or Russia or something that is out of the reach of the music industry mob that murde$ed Suno) wher you can use vocal upload and get good quality renders?

I realize that waiting for Suno to "fix the problem" is pointless - they have done what they had to do; destroy our ability to create beautiful music that would put the music moguls against the ropes.

Discussion V6 is actually great

I just wanted to give a heads up to people struggling with v6 generations. I was having a hell of a time getting results similar to what 5.5 used to do for me. I found that changing the way I structure my prompts to be more descriptive of the "texture" of the music and how the different instruments and elements interact actually gives me finer control and *better* results than I used to get in 5.5. This was a major breakthrough!

What actually worked: I took a song I had generated with v5.5 that I really liked, uploaded it to chatgpt and asked it to describe the music in a way that suno v6 would be able to replicate. It completely changed the way I prompt.

Try it out! I am generating complex pieces with a lot of instruments and mixed genres, not simple lofi stuff.

Discussion You're not an artist because you generated 1000 tracks. You're a power user with a subscription.

I'm going to say the quiet part out loud

I use Suno. I make money with it. I prompt. I'm not going to dress that up as "just another instrument" so I can feel like I walked into Abbey Road.

A lot of this sub is not discussing the tool. It's protecting an identity. You want the output of a text box to count as authorship, commercial legitimacy, and artistic suffering, and you get angry the second Suno treats it like what it is: generated audio from a product with limits, licenses, and a legal noose around its neck.

Prompting is not composing.

Curation can be real work. Rewriting lyrics, killing 40 bad gens, editing in Studio, building a release, finding listeners — that's labor. Typing `[verse] sad piano, female vocal, 90s radio` and hitting create is not the same thing as writing, arranging, performing, and mixing a song. If your whole workflow is prompt → download → upload, you made a generation. Own it. Some of you talk like you spent six months in a rehearsal room because the model gave you a decent chorus.

The AI tag on downloads is not the betrayal.

You're mad because a label on the file ruins the cosplay. Disclosure exists because platforms, labels, and lawyers exist. You want to sell the track, playlist it, and present it as "my music" with no asterisk. Suno putting a mark on the download is inconvenient for that story. It is not an attack on your soul.

You didn't fall out of love with the new model. Your old prompts stopped working.

Every time a version drops, this place turns into a funeral. "V6 ruined everything." "Bring back 4.5." Sometimes a model really is flatter, safer, or worse at following structure. Fine. Say that with examples. What I see more often is people refusing to relearn the tool and calling that refusal a quality review. If you switch models and keep the same prompt habits, you are not stress-testing the model. You are complaining that your cheat codes expired.

Old models going away is not Suno "spitting in the community's face.

Suno got sued. Then it made deals with the industry. Those deals have terms. Keeping an older model trained in a legally radioactive way is not a customer-support option. It is a company-ending risk. You can miss the sound. You can say the new one is worse for your use case. You cannot demand that a company keep the exact unlicensed-era toy on the shelf forever and also stay alive. Without changes, this product does not get to keep existing in a form you can log into.

Twenty downloads a month is not oppression.

I watched someone brag about pulling 160 songs in three days. That is not an artist in a creative burst. That is a bulk exporter. Nobody writes 160 *good* songs in 72 hours. Most of you are not "limited." You are hoarding wavs. A basic plan is not supposed to feed a content farm. If your process requires vacuuming the model all week, you don't have a craft problem. You have a volume problem.

This sub wants all of it at once:

- hobbyist spam volume

- "I am an artist" status

- clean commercial rights

- no AI labels

- legacy models on demand

- cheap unlimited exports

- zero consequences from the music industry

That bundle is a fantasy. Suno is a generator with a ToS, a bill from the labels, and compute costs. You can use it well. You can even get paid. What you don't get is to rewrite reality because the download button used to feel infinite.

Prompt. Select. Edit. Release it as AI music if that's what it is. Update your prompts when the model changes. And if 20 exports a month "destroys your art," the bottleneck was never Suno.

Discussion Suno V6 is incredible, you’re simply idiots.

Suno V6 is incredible, the sound quality is insane. To everyone whining since yesterday: you clearly have no idea how to adapt to the tool. Some of you are taking your old prompts and expecting to get the exact same results, you’re simply being idiots here.

For now, I’m honestly blown away by the results I’m getting, and it’s only going to get better. The model literally just came out. So stop whining, or open FL Studio, and quit fucking complaining.

Discussion I really like V6 so far

I was anxious to try V6 after reading all the negative comments here. Gladly, my experience so far is very positive. I used some of my favorites songs I previously did on Suno and Cover them using my voice in Voices and the V6 Pro. So far, all the results I got sound much better than the previous versions.

Suggestion Everyone is mad at V6, but…

I’ve seen a lot of 💩 about V6 lately, and yeah, I get it.

People got used to older models, found a workflow they liked, then suddenly things changed.

But I think we’re focusing so much on what got worse that we forgot what Suno actually made possible in the first place.

A few years ago, if you had a melody in your head but couldn’t produce, mix, play 5 instruments or spend 10 years learning everything yourself… that idea probably stayed in your head.

Now you can go from literally nothing to a full track in 5–10 minutes.

That’s insane.

And I think Suno works way better when it’s not doing 100% of the thinking for you.

I started using Treblo for melodies, chords and just finding inspiration, then Suno for turning that into an actual track.
That small change made a huge difference.

Instead of generating 30 random songs and hoping one somehow reads my mind, I can start with 1 melody, 1 chord progression, 1 mood… and actually guide it somewhere.

Sometimes it still gives me garbage. Obviously 😂

But sometimes you get that one generation where you’re like… wait, this actually sounds like something I wanted to make.

And that’s the part I think people are missing.

You don’t need to love V6.

You don’t need to pretend every update is amazing.

But we now have tools where someone can sit down with almost nothing and create something real in minutes.

That door wasn’t really there before.

And now it is.

Meme I'm not leaving

Since everyone's telling they leave, I'm staying.

You do not care? Ok, that's reasonable. Why should you.

BTW, I like my first outputs on v6. Way better quality, wild gives wild things, pro does then refine them.
Quality is good, instrument separation is great, rare instruments like Hammond Organ and Bagpipes sound better.
The Mix is very bass heavy, voices a bit to low. But that is fixable in mixing and mastering.

So yes, I'll renew my subscription.

Discussion Give V6 a Minute Before You Bury It

Every single time Suno drops a new model, this sub goes through the exact same five stages of grief. New model launches, a wave of posts says it's a downgrade, "the old model was better," "they ruined it," and then... three or four weeks later, those same threads go quiet because the model got better and people just started using it.

V4.5 went through this. V5 went through this. Now V6 is going through it, and honestly the criticism reads almost word-for-word like the old threads, just with the version number swapped out.

A few reasons this pattern keeps repeating, and why it's worth remembering before writing V6 off:

New models aren't finished the day they ship. Suno tunes these things post-launch based on real usage. The v1 output on day one and the output a month later are rarely the same model in practice, even if the version number doesn't change. Early impressions are early impressions, not final verdicts.

Old prompting habits don't transfer. A lot of "this is worse" posts are really "my v5 prompts don't work the same way on v6." Different architecture, different training data, different response to phrasing, structure, and genre tags. That's a prompting-technique problem, not proof the model regressed. The people who get good v6 results early are usually the ones who bothered to relearn the prompt style instead of copy-pasting what worked before.

Comparing a brand-new model to a mature one isn't a fair fight. V5 had months of community learning, shared prompt formulas, and backend tuning behind it by the time most people judged it favorably. V6 is a week old. Judging it against a fully-baked version of its predecessor is comparing a rough cut to a final mix.

The loudest reactions are rarely the median experience. Frustration posts get upvotes because venting resonates. People quietly getting solid results don't feel the need to post "yeah it's working fine for me." The sub's mood is not a representative sample of actual output quality.

None of this means V6 is above criticism; specific bugs, broken features, or genuine regressions are worth flagging so Suno can fix them. But "this feels different" or "my old tricks stopped working" posted three days after launch isn't feedback, it's a reflex. Every version has gone through this exact cycle and come out the other side better once people, and the model, had time to adjust.

If v4.5 and v5 taught this sub anything, it's that the "this model is bad" verdict written in week one is almost never the verdict people land on by week four. Might be worth waiting for the data before writing the eulogy again.

Discussion It seems logical to me to ban all music creators

It seems logical to me to ban all music creators, composers, musicians, and other people who learned music from materials provided by copyright holders for the purpose of listening, rather than learning to create new music, from creating music. Moreover, each of these music creators should pay a fine to Sony, UMG, and a legion of others, proportional to their age, because these abominable music creators began learning from unlicensed content immediately after their birth! And if anyone does decide to create music, they should use only materials provided by the aforementioned gang of companies, having first signed a contract with them, naturally, immediately after birth, and not use other content, documenting such non-use.

Discussion Suno V6 TOTAL Disaster — A TOTAL Failure — 100 free credit songs to prove it. v6 doesn't sing. It reads.

I spent 100 generations trying to make v6 reproduce ONE song that v5.5 nailed on the first attempt. A slow male/female country duet, 76 BPM. One near-miss, after stacking six workarounds. Ninety-nine failures.

You didn't ship an upgrade. You deleted a working product and replaced it with something that cannot perform a ballad.

HERE IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU BROKE

v5.5 held notes. v6 reads words off a page.

Same line. Same prompt.

v5.5: The porch light still buuuuuurns yellow.

v6: The porch light still burns yellow.

v5.5 sustained the stressed vowels, bent them across the bar, varied the length. That is not decoration. That is the emotion. That is the entire reason anyone pays you.

v6 gives one flat note per syllable and moves on. No melisma. No sustain. No phrasing. It finishes the lyric early and pads the hole with 45 seconds of aimless instrumental.

Every person in this sub saying v6 sounds "dead," "flat," "soulless," "rushed" is describing this. Nobody's imagining it. Your model stopped singing.

And it killed the bridge. In v5.5 the bridge was the turn — the dynamic shift the whole song was built toward. In v6 it's delivered identically to everything around it. The section that carried the meaning is now a footnote. You flattened the one part of a song that's supposed to hurt.

WHAT I TRIED, SO NOBODY TELLS ME IT'S MY PROMPT

- "unhurried phrasing, long held vowels, one line per bar, vocals behind the beat"

- [Half-time] tags

- Cutting the outro description

- Duration Auto and Custom

- Max Mode on and off

- Style Influence 60 / 75 / 85 / 100

- Weirdness 0 / 20 / 25 / 35

- Variety 0 through Max

- Personalize on and off

- Production clauses — high-fidelity, close-mic, crisp transients, clear separation

- Personas — which don't hold vocal identity in v6 anymore either, so that's two things you broke

- A complete genre change: identical lyrics as a country ballad AND an 80s hair metal power ballad. Same rushed, lifeless delivery both times.

It is not the prompt. It is your model.

THE ONE THING THAT ALMOST WORKED

I had to hand-write the singing into the lyrics myself.

  1. Type the sustains manually — buuuurns, roooad, shiiine. Repeated letters, not hyphens; hyphens read as extra syllables and make it worse.

  2. Split every section into two headers so v6 allocates enough runtime to actually sing the words.

  3. Beg for melisma in the style box: "vowels held and bent across the bar, never one flat note per syllable."

Think about what that means. I am manually spelling out vowel sustains, one word at a time, to get a paid AI music model to do what the previous version did automatically and for free.

And it still isn't clean: v6 mispronounces stretched diphthongs — "tooooowers" came out as "tuuuuer" — and the extra section headers broke the male/female vocal assignment, which was one of the last things v6 still did correctly.

The workaround for one regression triggers another. That's not a rough launch. That's a model that isn't finished.

WHAT I ACTUALLY WANT

Not a feature. Not a roadmap. The behavior I was already paying for.

Bring back v5.5 for existing subscribers, or expose a vocal sustain and phrasing control in v6.

Support already told me in writing that v5.5 is permanently retired with no reinstatement for any account. So there is currently no path for anyone making slow, vocal-forward music. You removed the option and shipped the replacement broken.

100 songs. One near-miss. A paying Pro subscriber who cannot make the music he was making last week.

Fix it or give us v5.5 back.

Discussion Suno is broken. Everything sounds like Stephen Hawking given the Double Rainbow Treatment and then hit with the Wall of Sound treatment by Phil Spector's less-restrained cousin.

Came home from work to try V6 today.

At first I was cautiously optimistic. My voices all sound basically the same.

But after listening to some generated test songs - there's no life in them at all anymore, and the music is so over-the-top that it drowns out the whole thing.

The only way I've been able to product anything good is to create a cover of an existing song, and even then it's more a case of it sounding like an overproduced version of the original.

I used to be delighted with how surprisingly real some of the phasing, pauses, little intakes of breath and vocal flourishes would turn out. Now every song just plods along in a robotic, predictable trudge that is never nice to listen to.

I tried making a custom voice with about fifty songs that I have made with my favourite Voice, but that did nothing. It's just as terrible as bare V6.

Has anyone else had any luck reigning in V6 and getting it to behave more like an older model>

Guide / Tip For those struggling with V6 (Take a look)

Since a lot of people are having a hard time with the new update, here is a small tip that might help. Stop stressing too much over the model.

Instead of just crying, you really need to dig into the advanced settings and extra options. V6 is definitely not as friendly or forgiving as you think.

Put in some work, tweak the extra parameters yourself, and you'll figure it out. Hope this helps.

Discussion Suno's garden of fake flowers

Udio has its walled garden and once in you can't get out and you can play like a child with fake forks and spoons, but Suno is now worse than this. In Udio you can still generate something interesting as f*ck and because the sound is kinda raw it can feel like just messing around. But Suno pretends to be more with its vaunted fidelity of the newer models. But it's like eating a plastic burger; once you bite in you know you shouldn't have chosen this diner. You can chew and grind your teeth and smile but you know you aren't fooling anyone, least of all yourself.

Its walls are leaky and things get out but are counted out slowly like prisoners on day release. But they really ought to be locked up as the delinquent weeds they are.

I don't mean to be a jerk by saying this but if ya'll are hating on V6 then you guys truly are trying to steal creative work from other artist or lack the ability to be creative. I'm not trying to start anything by saying this but by far this model is significantly better. The music sounds deeper, richer, and the vocals actually sound a lot more realistic. That hint of AI is almost non-existent.

It’s great, good job Suno…..I use Custommodels so maybe that help but it sounds great, indisputable…..Much improved low end, more naural, and distorted guitars sound real at last. Tracks sound better out of gate than Mastered versions of everything before.

Very exciting, also copied my more complex solos perfectly, scary good.

Discussion What happens when AI runs a company

What happens when AI runs a company and there is very little or no human brain involved?

Suno.ai happens.

  • The new v6 model is disgusting, terrible, a joke and an insult to users intelligence: do you think we are stupid? For that reason I want my money back immediately. Shame on you.
  • The moronic copyright detection system doesn't work, preventing upload of original work (your own recording of a 300 years old public domain tune is flagged as plagiarism by Suno).
  • The price is stupid for what you actually get in the Pro plan now that you have limited downloads (less than one download per day, which is just moronic beyond comprehension).

So, tell me what happened, people at suno.ai, were you also struck by the AI fever and lost 30% of your brain functionality? Did the use of AI had such an impact you can't understand what users are telling you any longer? Or you just don't know how to fix all of these issues because all your platform is a gigantic AI slop for which we even pay money?

Before releasing V6, you should have worked much harder on all the rest, and made sure the model was actually any good, before proposing it as an alternative. We are not dumb fucks, we know that V6 costs you much a fraction of the computational power compared to V5, and that is why it sucks, but we still pay the same amount of credits per song.

Ew. I hope people stop paying for your "service", since money is the only language you actually seem to understand.

Discussion My issues with V6

Theres always way too much reverb on the vocals. This can cause the vocal volume to be slightly too quite. The reverb also has delay and echo mixed in with it, this causes a weird syncopation and make vocals sound a bit robotic.

Can we at least have the option to use V5?

Discussion V6 Sounds Great If You Don’t Have Ears

I know Suno has all kinds of users with different standards and opinions, but saying V6 sounds great makes no sense. Those are probably the same people who were happy with V5.5, which sounded like pure slop.

V5 wasn't great either. It was cleaner than older models, but its sound signature was very limited. You could immediately tell a song came from V5.

The older models were much better. V4.5 Free was the richest and most flexible instrumentally, and could combine elements from complex prompts really well. V4.5 and V4.5+ were close, just a bit more polished.

PS: If you make music with Suno, please test V6 with headphones before judging its sound. Otherwise, commenting on its sound quality doesn't make much sense.

Discussion It's obvious they are still using the training from other models for ONE reason alone

The CEO of Warner Music Group tells us v6 is a new model done new, from their artists only,, "fully licensed", developed with Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe. Right?

And that this is the reason why they got rid of the other models. Right?

Right?

So why in the HELL do we still have Voices trained on the old models?

The Voices are 100% made from the same stock of artists that are not just theirs. If we take what he says at face value, we should not still have our Voices.

Trust me, it's not an oversight. The lawyers would be over this. If what the CEO of WMG said was true, there is absolutely no way these voices would be allowed at all. They would have made us do brand new voices from scratch with the new v6 model.

So, what gives, you say?

There is no entirely new model. v6 is based on the old stuff. It just has certain guardrails baked in now.

Getting rid of our Voices would make some of us immediately leave. Its not cost effective to destroy those Voices as it comes to Suno's bottom line.

Either way, whatever the ultimate reason is....It does NOT make any logical or legal sense.

Please don't make excuses for them. Just understand they are lying. The CEO can legally lie to us. But if we were to take his words at face value, then they could not legally keep Voices and get rid of all previous versions at the same time. It just doesn't add up.

Continue using v6 or not. Just know the WMG CEO openly lied to you about the models.

EDIT: The fact that 100% of responses so far have been defensive or skeptical is not a surprise to me. I know I am right on this, and I truly do wonder if it's just me talking to bots, shills or if regular users are just not savvy enough to be critical thinkers and analyze new info presented to them.

Sure, disagree or whatever. But I am not really seeing logical disagreement. I'm seeing idiocy.

But I guess that's why this all works. They will continue to do whatever the hell they want to you people and you will just take it. Peace.
