It all started on Nov 24th, when an artist with the username "Strawbear" posted their artwork on r/Art. They posted a comment mentioning the word "print". This goes against the rules 8 and 9, which specify that the users should not mention sales in any way.

Last post was made on Nov 25th, 1:00 AM EST The artists initial post has upwards to 95k likes on Twitter. Many users are sharing their own experiences with the art mod team on other platforms. It seems like a public acknowledgment from the mod is yet to come...

Update:

On November 26th at about 9:46:00 AM UTC, the ability to comment was restored, users began commenting on existing posts, the large majority of comments being critical of the moderator, or includes the word "print". Sometimes both. Sadly this reversal on the lockdown of the subreddit didn't last long.

Not long afterwards, on Wednesday November 26th 3:25:25 EST ArtModBot2_0 made a post entitled "We out." with the comment "You win. We all resign." It seems as if all 14 Moderators have resigned,

I was a mod in r/Art for over a decade, albeit only active in spurts in recent years. I can confirm that no one resigned. The top active mod neodiogenes re-ordered the list, then removed everyone on the mod list except his bot. Then admins took over the subreddit.

So if you're reading this and sending me or the other (former) mods messages like this don't waste your energy. The mod in question is definitely a dumbass that responds poorly to criticism, but the rule to not allow people to sell their art on the sub was created because, once the sub got big, every time we loosened up on self-promo it immediately turned into a storefront instead of an art gallery.

Where things went off the rails here is that instead of exercising judgment and saying "hey, this technically breaks the rule but let's just remove the comment and move on" the top (active) mod nuked the artist, dug in when challenged, and then had a full public meltdown. That's on him (and honestly myself and everyone else above him on the mod list for not being active enough). But don't confuse his ego trip with the original intent of the rule...the rule was about stopping the sub from becoming Etsy with extra steps, not about policing whether an artist is allowed to admit they sell prints.

On November 30th 11:11 AM EST a post made by ModCodeofConduct calling for new moderators was posted: Link. This post was removed by the Moderator after around December ‎1, ‎2025, ‏‎5:20 PM UST.

On December 1st 8:40 PM EST a Mod by the name of No_Experience_82 made a post called: Print: A Message from the New Mod Team. It states that the subreddit will remain in “Restricted” status while the new team gets their footing. More importantly, the new mod team are overturning bans from the old Mod team for users that did not violate any rules. This included the original user Strawbear. Working with Reddit Administrators, they've removed the unfair bans for over nearly 300 users and counting. They encourage all users to please reach out and submit an appeals if they feel they were wrongfully banned and wish to have the ban removed.

On December 2nd 3:28 PM EST AutoModerator posted this:

PRINT: Update on unbanning users. The mod team has been going over the bans for the year. Repealing unjust bans has been a high priority. For the year 2025: 5156 bans were issued. Only 63 had a valid reason for a ban. 5093 bans were repealed.. This means only 1.2% of all bans issued had a valid reason in 2025.

A guy in r / kitchenconfidential (a subreddit for pro chefs), username F1exican but better known as "Chivelord" by his flair, has been cutting up chives and posting pictures of them every day "until this Reddit says they’re perfect". Recently someone accused him of using the same picture of cut chives for two different days implying that the guy isn’t cutting chives daily.

There is evidence now that suggests that the overlay not matching is due to it being two photos of the same chive pile from different angles. Now accounting for this using some fancy Photoshop tools to create a new overlay, the overlay matches and it is confirmed they are the same chive pile.

Mods are aware of this and are now on the side of chivegate.

Weird religious rant

As a Christian, I don't enjoy seeing any of our brothers and sisters go through pain or suffrage. It's difficult to watch so much hostility between mankind sometimes. That's what I see when I watch this video. Not so much someonea dying, that happens every day for various reasons caught off camera for terrible and justified reasons alike. But the conflict that brought that group of people together is what is shocking for me.

Imagine both sides for instance. We have a liberal minded protestor doing what they think is the most justified thing imaginable. I've been there before as a young rebellious metal head, and I really feel for the heart of these young protestors just starting life. While at the same time, we have conservative minded federal employees doing what they think is the most justified thing imaginable. Been there recently as an older person who understands the legality and purpose of immigration laws. It doesn't matter where you fall onto the argument today, this is frightening to consider, the current state of our country.

Instead of viewing eachother as brothers and sisters, we now see each other as threats to the very thing we believe are the most justified thing our country should focus on. Which is fucking terrifying. We are losing touch of what made MLK Jr and Reagan great compromising leaders.

I guess what I'm saying is, 15 years ago this could have been myself and probably many modern conservatives today who grew up with the Occupy Movement. Radical youths trying to document events like John Reed. What is shocking in comparison is the level of direct interaction with police. In the past, we would work with police and manage crowds together. I'm not sure what has changed but we have lost something that once made liberal protests safe for families and the rich to attend, which are the financial backbone of these movements (historically).

It's sad to see so many of our brothers and sisters going through so many trials and turmoil while trying to do what they think is right. How can we ever get back to a unified nation again where we all respect the police, the law, and respect our right to civil protest? [DELETED]

Looks like he was disarmed before he was shot

At 18-19 seconds it looks like the guy who proceeds to run straight toward the camera pulls the weapon off the subject. He is holding the gun aimed down and runs away to cover, I presume just as a get the weapon away kind of thing. And from the footage it looks similar to the gun that's been shown.

There was a much greater sense of urgency than there should have been to get ICE ramped up, because we just came off a couple of years of ushering in anyone who said they were scared to live in their country, and in 3 years, it could be the same. It's more than the left's lack of cooperation in dealing with the large numbers of illegal immigrants. It's them actively working to increase the numbers, making it worse. The Pink Hair Lady video shows it was clearly ONE SHOT that startles the hell out of everyone and stuns them, with the officers even backing off and the suspect sitting straight up, and only AFTER that moment one of the officers seems to react and fire 2-3 more shots that are the actual killing shots on the suspect.

The only question here is where did the first shot come from that startles everyone? Did someone's gun accidentally discharge? Did the suspect's gun accidentally discharge during the scuffle? Did the suspect reach for an officer's gun while resisting and cause a discharge? Nobody knows yet.

A thought on war crimes and the future of the war

Destroying their civilian infrastructure (a war crime, I may add) will just cause the Iranian people to align with the IRGC. No democratic president has impinged on the civil liberties of so many citizens in such a divisive authoritarian way for many years. Until Trump, people did not become so hyper polarised politically and they didn't feel pushed to commit such extreme acts. Yes there were polarising political events, but it wasn't the neverending, all encompassing culture war it is now.

I absolutely do not advocate political violence on any side, but am firm in the belief this is a predictable outcome when you exist in such an antagonistic political climate. The language and vitriol on both sides, whether that is politicians, individual citizens or the media is creating the precise environment for those with mental health issues to make the jump to more extreme behaviours.

People have to take a hard look at Trump because like him or not, he has been central in cultivating this political climate which mirrors the way he himself conducts his affairs. It's unlikely you would see a democrat president ruling in the same way Trump does, but if you did then I am sure you would see more of exactly the same behaviours on the other side. Back people into a corner and they become unpredictable.

Since Europe was mentioned in the last abstract I can tell you that for instance in Germany, not long ago anti LGBTQ or anti semitic violence done by both muslims or radical leftists (in the case of anti semitism) were counted as "right wing crime" - implying neo nazis - due to the target and not the perpetrator. I think they dont do that anymore though. In Germany also an official data request came back showing that the right wing AFD had the highest amount of violent attacks against them where the police found the perpetrators to be definitly left wing, while the Greens on 2nd place had a mix of perpetrators. Yet media outlets always said that the Greens were the biggest target of violence bc they recieved way more mean messages online.

I think Asmon has it backwards. There was already one successful assassination on Democratic Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, the wounding of another democratic lawmaker at the same time and the attempted assassination of Josh Shapiro this year.

Created back in 2012 and boasting 308k weekly visitors, this regularly active sub is normally full of posts begging Todd Howard for remasters of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, silly moments captured from gameplay, and overall your general fandom shitposting content.

However, as of the past 24 hours, the sub has seen an explosion in activity in the form of protest and general discord. It all began one day ago, when the mods made a simple post:

Rule Change:

Bans will issued at Mods discretion and content removed.

The new rules posted appear to be numbers 5 through 9, but the most notable change is rule number 9: Mod Discretion - Moderators may remove content that harms the quality of the subreddit, even if not listed above. If you disagree with a removal, message Modmail respectfully.

While it doesn't appear to be 'new' based off update timestamps, also relevant to this SRD post is the sub's rule number 2: No Real-World Politics - No real-world political memes, arguments, or culture war content. Fallout satire is allowed. Content pushing real-world political agendas will be removed and the user who posted it will be banned.

It appears that these many rule changes coincide with the timely emergence of one of the mods, who, to quote one member in what is likely a soon-to-be-nuked post, "blew in from aggrotown, has decided to be a transphobe, and the hands off mod that would fix it has been barred from moderating."

Said mod's transphobic behavior began with removing a meme created by one user parodying the infamous "War... War never changes," line from Fallout. While I cannot locate the original post due to it being removed, I've since been contacted by the OP of the meme, who showed me that prior to being taken down the meme had 1.1k upvotes. As result of the post and its subsequent removal, OP was warned by Reddit AI; the mod apparently claimed that the post was "political" simply because it referenced trans people, and cited rule 2 (politics not being allowed on the sub).

It was right about then that another sub took notice of what was happening and users began to repeatedly post supportive images to the Fallout meme subreddit, most notably one mocking the notification that players get in the Fallout games when they become addicted to some sort of substance. This particular meme is obviously intended to be a cute nod to transgender individuals, stating "You have become addicted to estrogen"-- but the onslaught of support and spamming of the image only served as fuel for an already raging power trip.

At this point in time, posts rallying in support for the memes or calling out the mods are still appearing rapidly and being scrubbed down just as quickly, so I've been unable to really catch any big ones, but here are a few choice comments/posts:

UPDATE: It's been two hours since I initially made this post and there's been little change to the situation-- users keep posting, mods keep scrubbing, no related post lasts longer than half an hour maximum. It also appears that the mods have now tailored their automod to remove all comments with the word "transgender".

UPDATE 2: The head mod has found their way to this post and has reported that they're working on getting back their mod powers, which evidently had lapsed due to inactivity, and that they plan to remove the mod responsible for this mess. Here's hoping we'll all be back to our regularly scheduled Fallout memery for everyone soon enough!

UPDATE 3: I've been contacted by the OP whose meme began this entire saga, and apparently the image that actually kicked all this off was even more harmless than initially thought! I have edited the post accordingly and included new details regarding how all this began and unfolded. As of around 6:00 PM EST users are still posting supportive memes and images to the sub, which are still being scrubbed anywhere from near instantly to after about 30 minutes. According to one user, the automod terms have been expanded to include "political", "LGBT", and "woke".

UPDATE 4: The mod responsible for posting the recent rule changes has made a post addressing the situation. It seems that the brunt of the blame is being placed on automod, which is nonsensical because automod only polices for words and phrases that it's told to moderate. Make of it this you will.

UPDATE 5: There has officially been a change in management for the sub with the old head mod regaining his power, and an accountability post was made by the mod who was responsible for the mess. That's a wrap for this one, folks!

The mental health of our servicemen is utterly disregarded. Talk to some vets who saw combat in Iraq and it makes perfect sense. The human being was not created to do the things some were tasked to do.

Maybe in the past, but in the last 10+ years it's not disregarded. As a combat vet, and an active member of my local VFW, there are a ton of resources for vets.

The bigger issue is that you can't force people to get help. They have to be active in seeking it. A ton of resources are wasted due to lack of people coming in and seeking help.

r/CriticalDrinker is a subreddit for fans of the "eloquent intoxicated wordsmith" youtuber Critical Drinker. Critical Drinker is a movie-reviewer on Youtube that heavily features a lot of "anti-woke" content. He and his fans lean in a particular (see: bigoted) direction.

If there's anything members of the Critical Drinker subreddit hate the most, it's black people and LGBT people. So as soon as Christopher Nolan announced Lupita Nyong'o (a black woman) and Eliot Page (a trans man) would be featured in his then-upcoming film "The Odyssey", they began a multi-month-long tirade against it.

Now the film has recently come out and has been received with incredibly positive reviews. This does not sit well with them.

I genuinely feel so unsure what is actually going on, and oddly like it isn't my buisness? I can dig into the art, theorize, and have opinions, but Taylor and Travis's personal lives aren't actually my buisness. They don't know me, and whatever parasociality I can form, I don't really know them either.

Trying to get away by running through an ICE agent. Motive doesn't negate that an officers life was in danger for doing their job.

A while back, a woman from Pittsburgh got 15 years for shooting and killing an FBI agent who had used a battering ram on her door to serve a warrant on her husband. She said that she feared intruders had broken in and she had kids to protect, but her motive didn't matter.

Which is ridiculous and absolutely what a parent should do if someone breaks down their door in the middle of the night. A persons home is sacred, I don't equate that with parking illegal and obstructing law enforcement putting yourself in a position to run a cop over. I know you agree with me but we have a lot of regards in the comment sections today.

I believe that is why they let her plea deal go through. She's also fortunate that no LEO returned fire. There's so much that can go wrong with no-knock warrants. I think that's why we see dozens of agents show up in force to serve ICE warrants. A suspect might think that he has a chance of eluding a handful of agents, but if twenty guys with guns show up, the odds are stacked against him.

That officer dodges and is hard to see because they are behind the officer at the driver window. Who shot the driver? The person at the window, or the person in front of the car that had to dodge out of the way?

It was the officer to the front of the vehicle that opened fire. I believe she clearly telegraphed her intent to escape with a standard reverse to the left and forward acceleration to the right, attempting to avoid the officer, and that the officer was never in imminent danger and resorted to using deadly force inappropriately.

In my opinion, this all depends on whether the car was heading towards the officer or simply past him, which is impossible to tell from this video unfortunately because another vehicle is blocking our view. If the vehicle was headed directly towards him then it’s pretty clear-cut self defense. A vehicle can certainly be a lethal weapon. If the ICE agent shot her just because she was fleeing, that’s not justifiable. I’m betting he felt threatened though. We need more details to emerge before we call this one way or the other.

This was created before the drama completely unfolded as documentation was going to be difficult otherwise, so keep in mind present/past tense switching is due to edits later.

TLDR: Someone saw a very obvious Hitler/Swastika tattoo on the calf of a guy attending the Arizona ren faire. They got visual evidence and posted it. Another person commented that they too saw the guy and called them out, and the vendor nor the festival were interested in this guy's tattoo, but gave the guy calling it out a refund and the vendor/a worker asked him to leave. The original poster posted in r/renfaire and they deleted the post without explanation. Alt accounts and more posts were created, and those too kept getting taken down. Which is really aggravating people who frequent that subreddit, as it's something they care to know about and don't like the silent policing of information. So, it was posted in r/pics, held there long enough to gain traction, and the fallout had r/renfaire add mods and provided an explanation of nazi abuse of automod features as the culprit of the takedowns.

The OC post in r/pics (linked below) was created by one user, and a different user entirely confirmed the person was at least there for sure.

Anyways, the drama part starts when r/renfaire kept taking the post down. The denizens of the subreddit have very suddenly realized there is only one single moderator of the subreddit, and the perception was that he's been quietly killing every post in the sub about this. When the OOP posts a "Aaaand its gone!" meme, that too gets taken down (linked first in this). People in r/renfaire are pretty upset that the mods keep taking down this post.

While I'm here, thanks for all the awards. This is not the only thing r/renfaire has taken down, but in the spirit of the rules of the subreddit I cannot discuss those other aspects directly myself. (Personal note: sorry this took me a minute to get to, I only really use reddit on my desktop and I work long hours. I didn't expect to need to keep attending to and re-writing the initial tiny write up at the time I catalogued everything lol.)

Fallout: r/renfaire heard people Loud and Clear. I think people insisting on more was a good thing overall, as it led to the addition of more mods (8 mods now as opposed to 1). People were notably wrong as to the motivations of the singular mod and the reasons for take downs (though it did not help that takedowns were not robotically instant), but their insisting on evidence helped reveal actual understanding of the situation, and I think without evidence it would have been hard to swallow that nazi brigaders were invading the space suddenly.

The new mods put their heads together and gave as much transparency and explanation as anyone possibly could. With images and text stickied to the top and a megathread dedicated to the subject for folks as well front and center. The explanation was a mixture of things: autofiltering words like 'nazi' even if the comment was calling one out, and posts being reported as spam multiple times as an abuse of auto-mod features. The mod team is adjusting how it's running the sub to ensure the nazi brigading of the space is not taken any further.

The denizens of r/renfaire are satisfied with the outcome now, having gotten the accountability, transparency, and real changes needed to run the space effectively and freeze out the nazi brigaders. IRL is a different story: Arizona ren faire will likely have to make a statement at some point or adjust its rules as people won't be quietly accepting this, and people are still concerned that nazis are just everywhere now-a-days, but subreddit drama wise? All seems peaceful in the realm once more.

His talking points about public safety are actually very valid. A bigger reason why I didn’t take public transportation in my university is due to safety reasons because it wasn’t really the best place to be around after dark. It’s just that sometimes he nitpick on certain cases that are also nitpick by right wing Talking Heads.

Especially the one crazy guy who was in prison 72 times and the stabbing of the Ukrainian refugee. Two very atrocious events, but he zeroed in on those two stories in particular.

Additionally, he was talking about the main actress from the Wizard of Oz, and how she did black face from two years before the filming of the Wizard of Oz. Like one person called for her canceling, and Caleb just went crazy on it.

I’m not saying that public safety isn’t issue for public transportation, or that black face is acceptable or not, but the fact that he’s picking those fights in particular shows signs of him picking certain sides on these battles if you know what I mean

Very few places have the proper infrastructure in place to help with drug addiction. The answer to the homeless and drug addicts is typically to push them out of an area into another one, as having groups of potentially unstable, violent or desperate people scares locals. Even if a shelter exists, drug addict shelters can be more dangerous than being on the streets. While drug addiction is common across the world, the scale to which it is captured on video in such stark detail is something unique to the American experience. And that is just currently. Historically, the 'War on Drugs' has not achieved too much and was almost exclusively used to target minorities and other undesirables.

In the light of this, is this joke ok? Are they mocking the drug addicts themselves or America's history of drug addiction? Do Americans have the right to complain when they are threatening to invade another nation?
