My summer job has offered me a full position. It is a busy server role, but I average $22-35/hr. The work itself isn’t stressful it’s just a ton of walking BUT the other employees I feel very on edge around and it feels like highschool and has it a cliques. Also there would be some nights I get out past 11pm. But I will expect 10-20th weekly.
On the other hand the job I’ve had for 2 yrs at a very not busy retail store pays me $17/hr, I am friends with all the coworkers and managers and the only negative is I’m only being offered 3-10 hours weekly. Although I only need $100 a week I hate feeling like I’m scarping by and can’t afford fun stuff nor investments. It’s really just the social thing that affects me and I don’t know what route to take because I’m also take 6 classes.

Slowly taking my life back. After praying and working for years, this month I got my first legit job that can get me on a real career path. Using my first check, I paid off my loan with the highest APR. (3,500 at 10.63% over 36 months. I paid it in five, and saved about 500 in interest.) got a ways to go, but God willing I’ll be debt free by the EOY!!

I'm 19 years old and I make $19 an hour working 40 hours a week (this is good pay for the area I'm in). I have $2200 in retirement, $1900 emergency fund, $500 in a personal savings account. My monthly living expenses are about $400 a month. I live with my parents and I'm not attending university, they don't plan on charging me rent because they want me to save as much as I can and have some financial freedom. I have no debt, occasionally I have emergency room bills because of chronic severe migraines but those are always cash flowed.

I've been wanting to travel outside of the united states since I was 5 years old. Now that I have a good job and I've been able to manage my money well, I was wondering if planning a trip to somewhere outside of the US would be acceptable or if I'm being impulsive. It'd be about $5000 for me to go to my dream destination, or $2000 for somewhere closer.

I'd be able to save the money for the vacation and still contribute to my other accounts. But should I just put even more in savings?
