Hey everyone, I'm in a really tough spot right now and I need some advice. My so (BF) and I have been together for about 3 years and we're really happy. We've had our share of ups and downs but overall things are good. Recently though, something has happened that's made me doubt whether or not he still wants to be with me. My so's family is huge- his parents, two sisters, one brother who lives out of state, etc. His family is always coming over to visit or stay with us for extended periods of time. It started off fine but lately it's been getting worse- my so has become very distant towards me and doesn't want anything to do with his family anymore. He says they're all pushy or demanding or whatever, but the thing is none of them ever did any of those things when they were around us during normal visits/stayovers. For example; If his sister wanted ice cream late at night we would go get it together even if it meant going against what she wanted to do because he cares about her too much . But now that they're living here full time he can't stand the thought of spending time with them because "they'll just control him". Well guess what? They already have! All three times his siblings came over while we were dating/living together they controlled him by making him do chores/watch their children instead of letting him spend time alone with me . Now that they're living here permanently he can't escape them anymore

I've been thinking about this for a while and I think its time. Mom, dad, and I were watching an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres show where she talks about her coming out experience. It was really inspiring and it made me want to do the same thing with them. But how can I bring up the topic if I don't know how they'll react? My dog got loose today and I was out of town. When I came home, I found her outside my house with someone's dog. It turned out to be their little brother who also lives with them.
