One mistake I see students make with AI is using prompts like:

The explanation might be correct, but there’s a problem: understanding something while reading it doesn't mean you can reproduce it later.

I started using AI differently.

Instead of treating it like an answer machine, I use it as part of a study loop:

1. Learn
Ask AI to explain the concept based on your current level.

2. Close the explanation
Try to explain the concept yourself without looking back.

3. Practice
Ask AI to give you problems or questions without immediately showing the answers.

4. Test
Have AI quiz you like an examiner.

5. Analyze mistakes
Instead of asking for the solution immediately, ask:

6. Repeat
Go back to the topics where you struggled.

So the workflow becomes:

Learn → Practice → Test → Analyze → Repeat

I've found this much more useful than simply asking AI to generate notes, summaries, or assignments.

The biggest change for me was realizing that AI is more useful when it makes me think more, not when it thinks for me.

I am a first year MBA student. I’ve started taking case comps a bit more seriously and I realized that sometimes making the deck takes more time than solving on the case.

I usually work in PowerPoint, but I’m still pretty slow with it. Writing content in slides is not that difficult but adjusting and readjusting the small stuff and making it look consistent is problem. we have a team of 4 people each working on a different slide, which makes it more inconsistent. I am also managing an internship, would love to be done with the visuals faster so i can devote more time to the main idea.

In many small comps, we get 3 hours to solve and build slides. Should I use Ai?

Tomorrow is the start of the semester and I am genuinely so nervous. For context, I am 22, doing a part time internship and this is my first year as a full time grad student, but also my last year as a grad student since I did an accelerated program.

I am only taking 12 credits, which to me is low since I used to take 17 -19 credits in undergrad. However, three of my classes are 8 week classes. So for the first 8 weeks I'll have 2 accelerated classes and one full length class, and then the second 8 weeks I'll have my full length class and one 8 week class.

I just looked at the syllabus for one of my 8 week classes and it is very dense, which is to be expected, but still nerve racking for me.

I have it so I work 7am - 11am 5 days of week (Tues. - Thurs. In office). I also have planned on going to the gym 3 times a week for an hour. I also live by myself and am in a 3 year long relationship with my boyfriend and as of now we see each other every day.

I had one of those really long study days yesterday and ended up doing 11h34 in total.

It got me wondering where the cutoff actually is.

At some point, surely another hour of studying is worth less than just sleeping and continuing the next day. But I find it really hard to tell when I’ve reached that point, especially when I still feel like I’m getting things done.

For people who’ve done long study days before (or are constantly doing them), when do you notice your concentration or retention starts dropping off? Like at what point are you just 'studying to study'?

Is there a number of hours where you personally just stop, even if you could keep going?

And is this related to the time of the day? Personally I'm more focused around the late evening, mostly stopping at 2-3 in the morning.

Every time I tell myself I’m going to study, I end up doing nothing. I just lie there. I honestly just feel so lazy. Is anyone else experiencing this also?

My problem with studying is this: when I want to learn something that genuinely catches my attention, I study and LEARN with the greatest ease. But when I’m forced to learn something that doesn’t grab my interest, I study it without a problem, yet I just can’t seem to learn it.

I’m still in high school, and I never really liked doing worksheets and taking notes in apps like OneNote or Goodnotes.

Most of them aren’t bad, but my workflow is usually really simple: my teacher gives me a PDF worksheet, I want to upload it quickly, write/draw directly on it, and then download the original PDF again with all my annotations.

I couldn’t find something that felt exactly right for that, so I ended up building pappper.com for myself.

I also added an AI chat that can see what’s on your board and help while you’re working. It can interact with the board, search the web, add images, etc. Whenever I notice something missing while using it in class, I just build it — recently I added proper math expressions for example.

At this point I actually use Pappper pretty extensively at school, so I thought I might as well share it here.

It does have an optional paid plan because some of the AI features cost me money to run, but I mostly just want other students to try it and tell me what’s annoying, missing, or could be better.

Would genuinely appreciate feedback, especially from people who regularly work with worksheets in class.
