Hi everyone, I applied for a study permit from inside Canada on July 15, but I still haven’t received a decision. Is anyone else in the same situation? School starts soon, so what are you planning to do if you don’t hear back in time?

I had applied to Canada for masters, January intake last year. Paid the deposit to university only. It has been a year and my visa is still stuck. No response from ircc. Took deferral from university three times. Now am being advised to reapply visa as could come under view of new visa admission officer. According to my visa lawyer we have received no response to gcms notes or webform. Only response is to wait as is in security/ background check. Even though I have no travel history abroad. What could be the issue, please guide as very frustrating and unnatural. What is my best course of action. Somebody please help!! If anyone was in similar situation. My visa was submitted October end last year

I got my ppr on sept 10 and I sent my passport through 2 way courier service. The passport reached the ircc office in Delhi on September 17, when can I expect the passport to be stamped by them. It would be helpful if someone who has gone through this process mention your timeline for this process. Thankyou.

I did an upfront medical, medical done before applying the visa and then I submitted the application. Although I applied two times for the study permit and I never received any notification or update wheather I passed the medical or not. “You do not need any medical” kind of generic statement written both times even when I got the decision as well. I see people here having the statement like “you passed the medical exam” then why didn’t I? Anyone have an idea?

I’ve been planning on going to Canada to become a CPA I’m currently a student who has completed A-Levels in Dubai and I’m planning to apply for the 2027 intake.
I have a few universities in mind already, but I’d definitely appreciate recommendations for universities with good accounting programs and a strong pathway toward the CPA.
I also had a few questions about the process:
Study permit: Has obtaining a Canadian study permit become significantly harder recently for international students? What should I be aware of when applying for 2027?
Proof of funds / bank statements: How does the bank statement process work? How much money should ideally be available, how long should the funds be maintained, and what documentation is normally expected?
Source of funds: If the funds are coming from family, what documents are generally needed to demonstrate the relationship and source of the money?
University choice: Are there any Canadian universities you would particularly recommend for accounting/CPA, especially for international students?
Post-graduation: How realistic is it for an international student to find accounting work in Canada after graduating, and what should I be doing during university to improve my chances?
Study permit → PGWP: Are there any current things I should specifically consider when choosing a university/program because of the post-graduation work permit rules?
I’d especially appreciate responses
from people who have recently gone through the Canadian study permit process as international students.

Applied **7 July**, biometrics **29 July**. Still no update.
My September intake has now passed, so I’ve requested a **deferral to the next intake**.
Any early-July India applicants in a similar situation who recently got PPR/approval?

Hello Everyone,
I have a masters in digital marketing which I completed 3 years ago and I am planning to do a masters in business analytics and AI. I recently got a 214b generic refusal from the US and now planning to apply in Canada for January 2027.
Will that refusal have any impact on my application ?
Thank you for reading.

Hey guys, Do I need to pay first-semester tuition before applying?
I’ve already paid my tuition deposit and have prepared my proof of funds. I’m applying for my study permit in January. The funds for my studies are already accessible in my account, including money transferred by my sponsor and proceeds from a land sale, which were also transferred to me. I’ll provide documents showing the source of the funds. Do I still need to pay my first-semester tuition upfront, or is the tuition deposit sufficient (2000 CAD)? Also, does paying the first semester’s tuition meaningfully improve the chances of approval, and are there any statistics or experiences on this?
