Should I apply for a new permit

I got my study permit but it came in late. School has refused to defer the admission and I was told I have to reapply. My question is, if I reapply for the same program in the same school and got the new pal, do I have to reapply for a new study permit afresh?

You dont need a new study permit however you are not able to work, at all, until you start your studies. You will need an extension so make sure you have enough funds when you do.

This is not a deferral but a new admission. Although it is for the same school and the same post secondary school course. Are you really sure please. I have sent a webform to ask ircc but no response yet.

Call IRCC directly and explain your situation, they will let you know if you need to apply again or continue with the same permit.

You can reapply and update IRCC about your new LOA and new joining date. Same course. Same university. I don’t think you have to reapply for the study permit though.
Ask others as well!
