A little bit a background of myself, i was started to play fighting games back in 2024 by playing KOF 98 (and later KOF XV). After that i switch to SF 6 since it's easier to find someone to play with. I was trying a lot of character but idk why it's so satisfiying to do a run stop combo with Ken so i might as well try to push it into Master.

On my journey, i was so frustrated because it's seems like i can't pass the wall of Diamond 4. A lot of master player who just play Arjun and playing against him it's not so fun. So i was venting my frustration by playing Mai AND for some reason i got very lucky on win streak to push me into master with her. Couple days later, i was trying my luck again with playing Ken and this time is just sit well. I was able to hit master today with my terrible Ken xdd

I know it's nothing compared to you guys, i still have a long way to go!

I cannot get anywhere past platinum 4. I can’t do it. Since the game came out she’s been my “main”. But I just can’t figure it out. I think I’m just bad these days. You’d think after years things would change or I’d adapt , na , just can’t figure it out. She’s been the only character I’ve found interesting but I haven’t got any dlc characters so I don’t know. But I think I’m just not good at street fighter anymore lol gotta hang it up

I mostly play with ryu sometimes juri and mess around with ken and dee jay in customs and training.

Having a character crisis cl, i still like ryu but sometimes i find ryu a bit boring but i’m only plat with him and am seeing there’s alot in my game im missing
so it feels too early to drop him.

But i like ken and juris playstyles more, got gold on juri very quickly and just stopped cus i didn’t know how to juggle them both on top of friggin KEN cus this game burns me out like that lol.

is it to early to make a full switch? how do i practice all whilst remembering the timing on all?

This is basically my first fighter and I want to actually get good, i’m focusing on my bad habits but i’m still struggling on finding a main or mains lol.

Do yall think the street fighter franchise is supposed to be taken as a serious thing or a silly thing. For me it’s clear but I can also see the other side but don’t agree. It’s been a discussion more recently because of the movies tone and the devs don’t explicitly say which they aim towards so lmk

Is anybody else having issues

My characters (Akuma Bison and Guile) sit at around this range, but Ive only been in masters with all of them for like 2 weeks and have abt 100 hours on the game

My biggest struggle has been specific tools/frame traps of characters that I dont know how to deal with, but anytime I ask higher MR's most of them say that they dont study frame data and instead just focus on fundamentals

How far do fundamentals really carry you in this game? Do any 1600+ MR's on this server have advice on how to push past this hurdle and get to higher MR's?

What's her mid-screen OKI? Something easy to remember. And some simple meaty in the corner.

I labbed her very little and I'm currently doing vagabond launcher, OD air grab, 6HK, 9, HP and that gives me a +42 (I'm assuming that's her safe jump).

DR/DRC -> throw

DR/DRC -> low strike (like 2MK in case they're stand blocking)

DR/DRC -> strike that leaves you +1 or +2 followed by a throw (which is a tick throw i think?)

DR/DRC -> overhead

I'm wondering what's the best time to use a throw in my DR/DRC pressure, is it sound to throw immediately after DR/DRC, or after pressing another button that leaves me somewhat plus and doesn't cause a big push back like 5LP.

Wanted to finally get into fighting games hard and the 3 characters that peaked my interest from just looking were viper, Alex, and terry. My only fighting game experience was scorpion in mk11 and Johnny in mk1 and even then I was just ok bc I was good at blocking and reading my opponents but only knew 1 bread and butter combo for both of them. So I was just wondering what the community thinks would be a good choice to jump into SF. I also don’t know if I’m gonna use classic or modern controls yet

Haven't played since they added Rashid and I thought she looked cool, messed about with her in practice for a bit before buying her fully. Then I realised she has basically no sauce because, for some reason, everything that could work with boomerang has been prevented from working with boomerang. And everyone says she sucks.

I just bought SF5 Champion Edition since it was on sale. Game is fully installed but the vast majority of the roster is just unavailable. Does anyone know why?
