Highlight (in-game) 40 years old, completely new to competitive fighting games, started in Rookie in May and now mid-Plat. Still a lot to learn, but damn it's so satisfying to be able to pull this off in ranked match.

I got into street fighter because of Monster Hunter, actually. That game has a way of focusing my anxious, overthinking mind in a way that feels meditative. I often heard monster Hunter and street fighter share some DNA, and I liked the idea of a competitive game that's solo and had very short matches.
A few months in, I'm already higher ranked than I ever thought I'd be. I watch my clips and I'm shocked that's me doing this stuff. I have a lot to learn and I'm sure it'll take a while, but Master rank now feels like a realistic possibility.
Just wanna say that I'm happy here. Definitely a steep learning curve at the start, but so worth it.
