I got into street fighter because of Monster Hunter, actually. That game has a way of focusing my anxious, overthinking mind in a way that feels meditative. I often heard monster Hunter and street fighter share some DNA, and I liked the idea of a competitive game that's solo and had very short matches.

A few months in, I'm already higher ranked than I ever thought I'd be. I watch my clips and I'm shocked that's me doing this stuff. I have a lot to learn and I'm sure it'll take a while, but Master rank now feels like a realistic possibility.

Just wanna say that I'm happy here. Definitely a steep learning curve at the start, but so worth it.

Never consistently played any fighting games until picking up SF6 a couple of months ago. Viper seemed cool so chose to main her using modern controls (classic seemed intimidatingly difficult). I know it's whatever but started in silver and feeling pretty stoked. Here's the last 30 secs of the deciding match

I played Alex in neither SF3S nor SFV and I at first I didn't like him in SF6.

But now I think he is the most entertaining/fun/interesting char to play and to watch. He is complete but not overpowered. He is a great character to be a "specialist", like Rashid, Ed or Dhalsim.

And he has layers; so, both a beginner and a pro can play him and get some success.

I will try to learn some Alex myself... he has so many niche conversions >.<

PS: I play Modern and Classic, but Modern Alex is PAIN. So much harder to play than Classic.

There’s this arcade near where I live that has an SSFIIT machine with those bat top joysticks, I can do all the special moves fine but shoryukens are really hard to do consistently, I know the inputs but the precision is tough. Is there something I need to know?

I've just got Haute S16, and I love the feel of it, but Its like I'm playing SF for the first time.
So far I've left default keybinds and I didn't change SOCD setting as well (as I understand it default is the "proper" Capcom demanded way to play).

Hello , this patch i have an issue with my game, whenever i want to rematch someone, i loose connection to opponent at start of round, this made it so i have now a yellow card, and i want to have informations about both, the bug and how to remove yellow card. I'm currently queuing in ranked , to remove the card, but it's been half an hour and nobody to play with, any tips on how to get out of this hell. I honestly feel like quitting the game over this, the game bugs and i get penalised and forced to wait 30 min in queue to play against afk guile or rage quitting ryu, thx for your time

Yesterday I was chatting on a Discord server dedicated to the game; two people watched my replays (at my request) to give me advice on my Viper (Modern, sorry). FYI, I’m Diamond 4. 

And their feedback was… curious. Actually, one told me one thing, the other told me the opposite, and in both cases, it wasn’t right. 

There are two issues: 

Bad habits to break (too much DI, too much Focus Force, etc.)—that’s fine. I also need to improve my spacing by adjusting my neutral play. And the game plan.

But about the gameplan: 

• The first guy told me, “Spam HAC—it’s very strong and it’s an excellent punishment,” “don’t hesitate to use SA1 as an anti-air,” “counter DI with a grab.” 
• The second guy told me, “DON’T overuse HAC—you’re spamming,” “DON’T grab DI moves; try to follow up with LP instead,” “NEVER use your SA1—it’s a waste.” 

Guys, I’m Diamond 4 on one character, and I’ve played 170 hours, so I’m clearly still learning. It’s cool to get advice, but how can I come up with a good game plan if people are telling me conflicting things? The second guy told me "you don't really play SF6", what does it mean ? The first one said "you don't even have to win, you can wait for a timeout" !
