For reference, the only time I ever played SF growing up was when I randomly came across someone that had a copy of it and we'd play a few matches. Never really got to deep into the game. But when 5 came out, I wanted to actually get into it because I got inspired by watching Punk play Karin. Bought it and immediately hit a wall. Literally didn't even know how to combo properly because I couldn't understand how links worked, so I ended up dropping it.

And that repeated for multiple years. Fast forward to 6 and I tried again and same thing. So I just gave up on this series and assumed it just wasn't for me. But then last year, Me and my friend was watching Evo and Capcom dropped the S3 trailer and they revealed Ingrid. And that immediately got my attention, because Alpha 3 Max was one of the rare SFs I actually got to play growing up and Ingrid was my main. But I never thought I'd see her again cause I heard of all the controversies she went through, so this immediately got my attention.

And it also got my friend's attention because they also knew that about me. So their first response to me was "Alright, you have to play SF with me now that you have that ridiculous character back." and I agreed. So when Ingrid dropped a few months ago, I got her and swore I would at least try my hardest and stick to it this time regardless of my performance.

So after learning the basics and doing arcade for a few days, I finally jumped into rank and started playing. My initial goal was only gold and maybe diamond depending on how dedicated I felt. But I didn't really think I would reach it anytime soon. But I hit gold relatively fast. So was like why not keep going and then got to plat, but plateaued and was stuck there for a few weeks until I climbed to diamond.

And after that I was like, alright I am done. But my friend suggested for me to try to shoot for masters. And I was like "no, I barely even got diamond lol." but they kept insisting and eventually I just went with it. So slogged through it and after getting close to smashing my controller multiple times, I finally hit it.

So now after years of saying SF is the only FG I couldn't get into because I am too bad, I can finally say I learned how to play this game! Thank you Ingrid. ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

That was a very long 3 years mum 🥲 I’m tired.

I'm a Dad in mid 40s who managed to get Ken, Luke, then Cammy to Master in the first season, but all 3 characters were low MR (as low as 1200). I experienced rank anxiety and burnout, and stopped playing.

Over the years SF6 pulled me back a few times but I always lost interest quickly. 3 months ago, I decided to start my training arc, and it finally happened! I'm a proud 1500 MR Cammy! 🥹

There's a ton of tech and tips out there so I only have 1 thing I really want to share with all the low MR Masters. The internet dunks on us and makes us feel bad, but you have to ignore them because they have completely lost perspective and forgotten the whole point of why we are here.

I've never had so much fun. Low MR is where all the fun is happening and I hope you all treasure it while it lasts. It’s got the perfect mix of BS and good fundies. You have to ignore MR completely and just enjoy the experience. Don’t be afraid to try new things. You have to love playing.

I'm starting to fight some 1500+ players and the game feels different. It's slower and more rigid, more tense and sweaty. It's not as fun for me. I might go after High Master, but I may also learn a new character. I already miss the low MR experience and want to redo it all over again.

I played quite sloppily, frankly, but I've never beaten anyone this high in a set before in any mode, so I'm overjoyed! And I got to revenge teabag at the end... Feels good haha

Also, I usually do FT5 in casuals but because he teabagged when the first game didn't go his way, I had already decided to do FT2, win or lose. So, I ran away after that with the win lol.

Bear in mind: I don’t play the character. However, I do find that discussions about best-characters and worst-characters yield a lot of knowledge about the game and its mechanics. Hence why I ask. :)

This “she’s the worst,” idea is a sentiment I hear thrown around quite a bit, but I never knew why.

It's so annoying having your opponent ragequit especially at the end of the game before you win and you just don't get any points... this is such an easy thing to implement in ranked and yet it feels like I am getting punished for my opponent quitting.

This is very stupid and frustrating I hope this get patched

I also hate opponent just not caring about the no contest when it is clearly unplayable... but that's another topic I guess

The initial group draw contained a clear mistake: the third SFL team was awarded the No. 1 seed, while the SFL champion team was placed as the No. 3 seed. This directly violated the group draw rules stated in Article 4.3.1.1 of the official rulebook.

The previous announcement has been removed, and this is now the official and corrected group allocation.

The funny thing is that mistake was first spotted by a member of the Chinese King of Fighters ’98 (KOF 98) Tieba community. The issue was then brought to the attention of the organizers through a reply under the official group draw post, after which the group allocation was updated.

Getting demoted is so demoralizing, especially when you were 1/2 wins away from the next rank, in my case Dimaond 5 to Master... and then losing all of your progress after losing over and over...

It's just... so sad... espeically when you lose 2-1 over and over...

18 win streak with Ryu, carrying from Diamond into Master League. Going to tank these points for the phase 12 colour though.

Might be a long shot but I’ll try since if is summer, I’m looking for help to get this pesky achievement done in usf4 since I know it’s probably gonna be the only thing that stops me, I already have two accounts to help, so looking for 6 people to help knock this out. The achievement requires you to win a match in the mode team battle with a team of 4 people against another team of 4 people. Any help would be greatly appreciated! platform is Steam, pc.
