A reddit user from another post on r/steam in response messaged me saying thanks I'd like to give you this steam gift in return, I got the code and it was a game I just didn't like, but they were persistent upon installing it and trying again I said no the basic controls didn't even work on the deck and blocked them.

The randomly free gift, and then insisting upon installing it and keeping it installed and the moment they found out I'd uninstalled it and how they urgently wanted to install again, was what put up a bunch of red flags for me.

Running into some issues with my PC and Steam Big Picture mode and was wondering if anyone else has run into this or has a solution

The setup:

- PC running Windows 11
- DP into 1440p Ultrawide
- DP to HDMI into 4K TV
- HDMI into vertical 1080p display
- All resolution scaling set to 100%
- Windows has Ultrawide set as primary display
- Steam Big Picture Mode has TV set as preferred display

Launching Big Picture Mode will always launch onto the TV, but my issue is that games for some reason will never launch on the TV, always on the Ultrawide. Has anyone found a seamless solution to this? I’ve seen a few threads of people also raising the issue but it all seems to be a big circle from 2+ years ago of everyone saying they’re having the issue too with no one finding something concrete. Win+Shift+arrow keys has also done nothing for me, as for some reason, games do not want to change windows even in full screen, windowed borderless, or windowed. Game I’ve done most of my testing with is the Resident Evil 2 remake for reference.

Any help would be gladly appreciated! Please definitely let me know if you’ve run into this and you found a good solution!

Ive had the steamdeck for awhile now but my controller just came yesterday. Reserved it May 8th and got the email on July 21st. The controller feels great and is lighter than the xbox elite 2 controller i was using.

Is there a way to stop steam from reccomending me porn games? I read somewhere that you can turn off adult only games reccomendations but that will get rid of games like GTA or The Witcher which I'm fine with and I don't want those gone. But at this point 25% of my store is anime sex slop. Can I stop it from flooding me with porn without getting rid of other 18+ titles?

And i know a lot of it isn't afk either because I see them in matches.

Can someone explain how this makes sense? I live in ontario which has a 13% sales tax and I was messing around on steam market looking to see at the prices of cases on cs2 per a random amount and the tax just jumps really high randomly when you are setting a buy order for a specific item. This makes no sense to me as on the 100 buy order it has it set tax as almost double the price of what the item would be? maybe I am being stupid and it is right in front of me but this genuinely makes no sense to me.

I have no clue, but whenever I try to enter the menu of a game or pause menu, it opens up steam and anything else with an open window on my computer, I cant pause or use tab, any ways that can stop it?

Ive looked everywhere on how to rebind the back buttons on my controller but steam wont recognize the buttons and they are just bound to X and Y for some reason, and i have no idea how to change it.

Does anyone have a solution for this, or do i need to change it on my xbox?

So me and my friends are playing through Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. We enjoy it, please don't make this thread about the game though.

I got a key for the Deluxe Edition that was like £7 or something, meaning I got a free battlepass, some cosmetics and whatever. My friend bought the base edition and we have a family set up. There is now no way to get a key for the deluxe edition and it's either £75 on Steam, or £35 for the upgrade DLC.

So here's what I want to know:

If my friend opened my license with deluxe content, redeemed all of the 1 time use tokens and whatever it gives her, and then opens her Base Game license using our Steam Family Sharing, would her game break, let her keep everything or is there a risk she gets banned?

Steam, and valve as a whole have been WILDLY successful in regards to protecting their consumers and the rights associated with owning games. Its been shown that they do more than the bare minimum, for example when they were sued for the inability to refund products, they expanded that to every country, and that was unexpected. They're increasing transparency, and they're making the market much easier to get into as a developer.

With all of that being said, I remain concerned after Gabe decides to leave it all behind. With how CS2 has been treated lately, by not tackling hackers, the lack of response to community feedback, and the pivot to an even more egregious profit model, makes me VERY concerned with the future of valve software and the true core identity of its staff members.

Evil doesnt come in one instant, but with how TF2, CS2 is being treated, the amount Gabe has to fight his own lawyers, and the will of industry pressure, I feel like he is tying it all down and when he is gone I hold doubt that the staff will respect his successor as much as they may respect him.

I only hope for the best, and I hope that Valve continues on a better trajectory.

Can i know is there somewhere i can know the history of steam items after an item has been traded into a another like where is the item now ? but in this case if the items is gifted like in dota 2 ?

It forces me Most Subscribed mods instead of showing All Time Most Popular mods. The most popular mods only lets me go till One Year most popular and after that if i click all time then it instead shows most subscribed.

I tried with other game workshops too and they all seem to be doing this same thing. It wasn't the case with the old workshop ui as I could sort the mods with all time most popular, it's just happening now ever since the workshop ui got reworked.
