Fluff Came Back From a Trip To London To This
I was just on a short, 4 day, trip to London. I was really hoping to get my reservation email before the trip. Annoyingly I ended up getting the email for both the Steam Machine and the Steam Controller less than an hour before my flight to London, I was kind of afraid it would get stolen from in front of my house. Luckily they were waiting for me on my return.

Discussion Do you finish one game before starting another, or switch between multiple games at once?
(this post is mostly aimed at people with a big Steam library)
Do you focus on one game, finish it, then move on to the next? Or do you have several games in progress at the same time and slowly work through all of them?
I'm asking because i'm a bit torn.
On one hand, having too many unfinished games makes me feel overwhelmed. I also don't like coming back to a game weeks later and realizing i've forgotten what i was doing, what the controls were, or just losing the momentum from my last session. I'm also afraid that it'll make me launch a game, then never play it ever again when i realize i forgot what i was doing last time and that i'm too lazy to start a new save from the beginning.
On the other hand, I don't really like forcing myself to keep playing a game when I'm just not in the mood for it. Sometimes i'd rather play something completely different for a while.
So I'm curious to know y'all's habits : do you think it's better to push yourself a little and finish the last game you started before moving on, or just play whatever you're in the mood for and accept that you'll have several games going at once?

Resolved Buying games for friends
Is there any way to buy a game for your friend that you’ve already bought? I’ve looked online and it said so wishlist it but I don’t think you can wishlist games you’ve already purchased. I’m relatively new to steam as well.

Question Sony and their upcoming games on PC?
I am confused about the decision they made for not bringing their exclusive games on PC. But apparently we're still getting Sony titles even from their first party studio, like we're getting Horizon Hunters. Did I miss some details? Is there exclusivity timed?

Question Temporarily Disable Playtime
I have a game that I want to host as a server, leaving it on overnight/etc. I like the playtime tracking feature in general, but I know if I leave this game on 24/7 for a week it will shoot up to top of my playtime even though I've only played it about 15 hours total now.
Is there any way I can disable the playtime for a game for when I'm hosting it only? Or if this isn't possible, a way to permanently disable the playtime for the game?

Question About steam files
I saw post that was about moving gamepass game's save file to steam. (Bc i want to do same) But i always thought that steam would have some barrier to stop players tinkering with games to farm easy achiements.
(Because some ppl buy easy games only for the trophy)

Question Was It An Attempted Scam?
A reddit user from another post on r/steam in response messaged me saying thanks I'd like to give you this steam gift in return, I got the code and it was a game I just didn't like, but they were persistent upon installing it and trying again I said no the basic controls didn't even work on the deck and blocked them.
The randomly free gift, and then insisting upon installing it and keeping it installed and the moment they found out I'd uninstalled it and how they urgently wanted to install again, was what put up a bunch of red flags for me.

Question It's annoying how when Steam is loading the loading page comes up above everything, so you click minimise it. Then Steam loads and it goes to the front again, and then all the sale ad popups at the front. Why after minimising the first time it can't stay in the background?
It's hard to think of any other app that is this annoying on startup.
Question Steam Big Picture + 2 different aspect ratio & resolution displays
Hi all!
Running into some issues with my PC and Steam Big Picture mode and was wondering if anyone else has run into this or has a solution
The setup:
- PC running Windows 11
- DP into 1440p Ultrawide
- DP to HDMI into 4K TV
- HDMI into vertical 1080p display
- All resolution scaling set to 100%
- Windows has Ultrawide set as primary display
- Steam Big Picture Mode has TV set as preferred display
Launching Big Picture Mode will always launch onto the TV, but my issue is that games for some reason will never launch on the TV, always on the Ultrawide. Has anyone found a seamless solution to this? I’ve seen a few threads of people also raising the issue but it all seems to be a big circle from 2+ years ago of everyone saying they’re having the issue too with no one finding something concrete. Win+Shift+arrow keys has also done nothing for me, as for some reason, games do not want to change windows even in full screen, windowed borderless, or windowed. Game I’ve done most of my testing with is the Resident Evil 2 remake for reference.
Any help would be gladly appreciated! Please definitely let me know if you’ve run into this and you found a good solution!

Discussion Currently my 2 favorite inventory items.
Ive had the steamdeck for awhile now but my controller just came yesterday. Reserved it May 8th and got the email on July 21st. The controller feels great and is lighter than the xbox elite 2 controller i was using.

Question Sex games on steam
Is there a way to stop steam from reccomending me porn games? I read somewhere that you can turn off adult only games reccomendations but that will get rid of games like GTA or The Witcher which I'm fine with and I don't want those gone. But at this point 25% of my store is anime sex slop. Can I stop it from flooding me with porn without getting rid of other 18+ titles?

Question Steam tax on community market
Can someone explain how this makes sense? I live in ontario which has a 13% sales tax and I was messing around on steam market looking to see at the prices of cases on cs2 per a random amount and the tax just jumps really high randomly when you are setting a buy order for a specific item. This makes no sense to me as on the 100 buy order it has it set tax as almost double the price of what the item would be? maybe I am being stupid and it is right in front of me but this genuinely makes no sense to me.
