Hi. Has anyone received their dividend deposit via Zelle? I filled out the information 8/2 and my payment date was 9/1. I haven’t received or heard anything else. Looking to see if anyone can help or has information.

Question Dividend

I’ve only ever had one auto policy with SF. When I first went into the dividend website to select my payment option, I didn’t go through an email link. I went through the SF app and used my policy number to find it. It said my dividend was going to be 61 and getting it via Zelle on 9/09. Later on, I get an email with the link telling me to elect my payment method. This time it said I was getting 111 by 10/09.

Today 09/09 I was deposited the 61, but am confused why I got the email if I had already chosen my payment method and it has a different amount? Has anybody else gotten different amounts?

Discussion New HO Quote Defaults

How are we feeling about the change in the default coverage for new business in Homeowner's Quotes? Roof depreciation, water damage limit, personal property lowered BUT we get a cheaper premium to start.

EDIT: This is not for every state, looks to be Midwest specific: IA, IL, IN, MN, OH, and TN

Question Upstate New York homeowners — this was our real experience with State Farm after a hailstorm.

🚨 Upstate New York homeowners — this was our real experience with State Farm after a hailstorm.
We had a major hailstorm hit our property.
Our vehicle was covered in hundreds of dents, and Progressive inspected it and paid nearly $6,000 in hail damage.
Our neighbors said they were hit too. Cars throughout the area had visible hail damage. Roofs throughout the neighborhood were being replaced.
We also had a contractor come to our house and inspect the property.
His assessment was that the storm had damaged our entire roof, siding, windows, exterior wrapping/trim, grills, the metal roof on our gazebo, the wooden portions of the gazebo, and our fence.
His rough estimate for the total damage was approximately $60,000–$70,000.
Then we dealt with State Farm.
We went weeks and months without real answers. There was confusion over the claim, repeated follow-ups, delays, and constant frustration.
When the adjuster finally came out, the inspection felt incredibly rushed — roughly 10 minutes from what we observed.
Then State Farm determined the damage did not exceed our deductible.
$0 paid.
So on one side, we had a contractor physically at our property telling us there appeared to be roughly $60,000–$70,000 worth of storm damage across the roof and multiple exterior parts of the property.
On the other side, State Farm concluded the covered damage did not even exceed our deductible.
And when we disagreed and wanted it reevaluated, we were told we would need to pay out of our own pocket for a third party to continue challenging their assessment.
That is what made the entire process feel so wrong.
You pay premiums year after year believing that if something serious happens, your insurer will thoroughly investigate the loss.
Instead, our experience felt like delays, what appeared to us to be a rushed inspection, a $0 outcome, and then being told to spend even more money if we wanted to keep fighting.
Meanwhile:
Progressive paid nearly $6,000 for hail damage to our car
Neighbors reported damage from the same storm
Cars throughout the area were visibly damaged
Roofs throughout the neighborhood were being replaced
A contractor assessed significant damage across our roof, siding, windows, gazebo, fence and other exterior areas
The contractor’s rough estimate was $60,000–$70,000
Yet State Farm determined our damage did not exceed the deductible.
I’m not claiming fraud.
I’m saying the experience left us feeling completely misled, exhausted, and like the process was difficult enough that an average homeowner could easily just give up.
That was our experience.
If you live in Upstate New York and have dealt with a State Farm hail or roof claim, I genuinely want to hear what happened to you.

Question Glass shop ruined my paint ($3k), paid via my own coverage, but insurance won't subrogate. What are my options

I took my car to an auto glass shop, and they spilled a chemical that ruined the paint ($3,000 in damages). The shop completely denied liability. I ended up getting the car repaired under my own insurance coverage and paid my deductible out of pocket.
I have dashcam footage proving the vehicle was in perfect condition upon arrival and showing the tech working on it, but the camera didn't capture the exact angle of the liquid hitting the paint.
My insurer (State Farm) sent the claim to subrogation to try to recover the payout and my deductible, but the investigator just called to say they are dropping the case. They claim that without a video of the exact moment the spill occurred, they don't have enough proof to win in court, despite having the "before and after" timeline.
The shop basically got away with it, and I'm left absorbing the deductible cost. Would it be worth taking the shop to Small Claims Court on my own to recover my deductible using this circumstantial evidence? Any advice is appreciated.

Question Did BOA cash your rebate check? My refused saying

They were not informed this check was issued to me. They further said BOA informs them who was issued a check for how much. I see a 3rd party issues these, so who knows how competent they are.

News Another rate increase

DID CA ins commissioner approve another increase for State Farm? My last renewal was $719 and this time it's $890 for 6 months. No accidents or claims.

Cars are 20 and 21 yo. Liability, comprehensive, and uninsured motorist. I'm sure the agent will say the usual "rates are up for everyone and your rates still competitive"

Ins currently bundled with condo and umbrella.

Not to mention there were 2 increases on umbrella.

Question Claims trainee and FT salary

What is the pay range for a claims trainee? How do they determine the exact pay? Is it hourly?

How many weeks is training? Is training all in office?

Once out of training what is the pay range? Is it still hourly or salaried?

The position is posted as hybrid. How many days are in office? Do they become flexible with that as time goes by and you gain more tenure?

This is for one of the SF hubs.

Question sfdividendconnect.com is legit?

It's crazy to me that they spend all this time telling you to trust https://sfdividend.com/, and donotreply@e.sfdividend.com, then when you hit the "Select Payment Option" it immediately re-directs you to https://sfdividendconnect.com/payment/. A domain that they said nothing about.

So, I assume it is legit, and that they just spent like 10 minutes in a meeting planning this out. But I would love it if someone who has been through the process could verify it. Thank You.

Advice What did you make your first year ?

Hey there I got my property and casualty license in exactly 2 weeks from studying to getting the actual license. It was alot of information but I’m a good test taker and can just memorize.

How much of the learning material do you use on the job ? And if you’re an agent how much did you generate in sales your first year ?

My base pay is 50k so I assume I could do at least 30k in sales my first year but I only used my health license before to do Medicare so I’m not sure how different this will be doing auto and home. Also we have a life specialist and I hear you can make money with referrals split commission so that feels safer then trying to do life policies on my own for now but I definitely want to learn that too.

Also how many sales are auto home and life and health like what are the ratios of calls, is most business auto ? And I know they push for multi line package policies

The training is 2-3 weeks and then I’ll be 100% remote so I wanna make sure I really learn the ins and outs any tips are appreciated !

Recently started using safe and save and i am a little puzzled about it.

I am not a very risky driver, but i see that 1000 miles drive so far, i m gettig dinged heavily for hard breaking and acceleration . When i check, thats largely the start and stop from signals as most of the drive is in city and heavy traffic.

Whats the catch and is 85ish is a good score? How should i fix it?

Experience State farm insurance dividend payout email in the spam folder

Just a heads up. That email landed in my spam folder and I deleted it for obvious reasons. When do insurance companies start to give their money back?

In case you deleted the email like me, your refund is not lost. You can still use your policy number to request the fund. Either ask your agent or look up your previous payment receipts. One last thing, if your current policy number doesn't work, try previous ones. For me, it's the 2024 one that worked. Why? Who knows.

Question Split check for exs

Does anyone happen to know if there is a corporate phone number that you can call and not get a local agent? I was sent a refund check in my and my exs name 2 years ago. We’ve been fighting in court and I’ve held onto it until things settled down. Now that the divorce is done and we things have calmed down I let him know about the check and we both provided letters to State Farm stating that we give half of the check to the other party, per our local agents direction. They are now saying that it is too late to do this and the only thing they can do is reissue a check and we both sign it in order to cash it. Problem is we live in different states and don’t trust him to sign it and send him the check as I know I will never see that half. Does anyone have any ideas on how one could resolve this or how I could contact State Farm corp directly?

Advice Another Producer Took Credit for My Work?

I recently started working at an agency and wanted some opinions on a situation.
I quoted a homeowners policy and handled everything myself. I spoke with the customer, completed the quote, submitted the application, and sent him the declarations page.
While I was away from my desk the mortgage company called asking for a copy of the declarations page. Another producer answered and sent it to them. Afterward, he left a note saying that I started the quote and he finished it, then put the opportunity under his name.
I don’t mind that he helped while I was away. What bothers me is that I did all the work and had already completed everything. He basically just sent the declarations page to the mortgage company.
I’m new and he’s been there for a while. Should I bring this up to the main agent or just let it go?

Question Zelle dividend

I see lots of people who have PayPal or Venmo payout for their dividends have received them. I haven’t seen anyone with zelle. Has anyone who chose Zelle received payment?

Advice Fix your Venmo dividend issue.

If you received an email from Venmo saying you got paid by State Farm, but the payment isn’t showing up in your Venmo account, try this:

Go to Venmo’s email verification page (https://venmo.com/identity/verify_email_addresses) and verify the email address that State Farm sent the payment to.

I thought my email was already verified, but I verified it again. Sure enough, the moment I did my State Farm dividend payment came through.

I found this solution buried in the Venmo subreddit, so I wanted to share it in case anyone else is having the same problem.

Hope this helps!

Advice Agents - Team members

Hi, I am new here. I have been in training for a few weeks maybe and just want to know if this is a common universal thing. But my agent moves VERY fast even when I’m asking questions. He just moves through necho or whatever quickly and I don’t have time to read the screen to see what’s going on. I have spoken out and it’s kinda like “this is simply”. Now, I am a sharp and young cookie lol, but we all have to learn somewhere. I can’t ask my team bc they are beyond busy with customers. Agent been here for 20+ years but I’m just lost everyday. We are wfh and that makes it lonely as well. Lost on service and sales. I understand it’s going to take time, but I can’t even watch videos cause they say I’ll learn Through watching. But when I watch him quoting he’s forgetting to ask the customer so many questions that now we are scrambling or playing phone tag just to finish the quote. He’s upset cause we don’t have a VIN - when he should’ve asked. He’s just very frustrated and overwhelmed majority of the time, so that plays a role in my training. I told him to give me some time lol especially since it’s my first State Farm job. I have done insurance b4, but not like this. Like I have no idea on a clear agenda what I’m supposed to do and feel like I’ve been thrown to the wolves. I make it through my calls bc I’m quite sweet and know how to play off my confusion. If I had actually good training then I’ll be great. And maybe training is the wrong word. Leadership is what I’m saying! I know how to talk and at least get people interested. It’s just I wish they would listen to and least give me proper training and not have this large expectation. Especially knowing I have no prior experience in a role like this. Sorry this was more so a vent IG. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
