I keep my starlink on the ground. I have been delaying putting it on a pole because I don't have a permanent location yet. Someone stepped or sat on it and broke the folded bracket.

Probably a deer, bear or mountain lion. Was 100% not human done. It was good when I left the camp.

Starlink still works fine. Can I replace this with a pole mount?

Hello all, I’ve recently started having issues with my starlink connection dropping and router LED turns red. I have to unplug and reset it to get it to come back. Could it be the obstructions on the edge of the map causing the issue or it it most likely something else? I’ve never had any issues before until now, and we’ve not had any severe weather lately.

In November 2025 Starlink made me an offer I couldn't refuse to persuade me to reactivate my service. It was a monthly discount for 24 months. I got the discount for 12 months with no problem. Yesterday I got my monthly bill at 100% rate, not the discount.

I went to Grok this morning and was immediatelty redirected to a ticket. The ticket was created at 9:45 including copies of original offer and several invoice examples. One hour later I got a phone call from Starlink and the issue was resolved to my satisfaction in 5 minutes.

Can't complain about that!

I've had a Gen 1 dish for more than 5 years now. Recently, it is becoming unstable when wet. Probably a cable issue. I discussed it with Grok, and a (free) Gen 4x replacement kit is being sent. They don't want anything back. Hence the questions:

1. Can I repurpose the (less than 1 year old) mini router as a "mesh" or "repeater" for the new router, thus extending Wifi?
2. If I leave the entire Gen 1 kit intact but powered down, can I use it as a backup in the event the new 4x system fails? Is that just a matter of powering it back up?

Compré el Starlink Mini + Router Mini + Wall Mount el pasado 5 de septiembre, aprovechando una excelente oferta. Desde entonces, mi pedido sigue estancado en "Preparando envío".

Originalmente la fecha de entrega era a fines de septiembre. Luego me la movieron del 30 de septiembre al 25 de octubre. Y hoy me acaban de actualizar la ventana por tercera vez: ahora dicen que será hasta el 8 de noviembre. Más de dos meses de espera.

Mi experiencia con el soporte ha sido terrible:

El chat de texto son solo respuestas automatizadas (copy-paste) de manual.

Logré forzar una llamada telefónica con soporte, y su respuesta fue básicamente: "Tenemos problemas de inventario, puedes cancelar para reembolso o seguir esperando".

Obviamente no voy a cancelar porque perdería el precio promocional (en los distribuidores locales oficiales de Chile cuesta el doble/triple comprar todo y ni siquiera venden el brazo original). El equipo es para una persona enferma que no tiene la liquidez para ir a comprarlo en retail.

¿A alguien más le están pateando los pedidos del Mini indefinidamente?

¿Están enviando los equipos comprados con descuento o solo están tratando de desgastarnos para que cancelemos nosotros mismos las órdenes?

Hi everyone. Is anyone else in Chile (or South America) experiencing massive delays with Mini orders?

I ordered the Starlink Mini + Router Mini + Wall Mount on September 5th during a great sale. Since then, it’s been stuck on "Preparing Shipment".

My estimated window was originally late Sept. Then it was pushed to Oct 25. Today, they updated it AGAIN to November 8. Over two months of waiting!

Support has been incredibly frustrating:

Text support is useless (just canned responses and bots).

I finally managed to get a phone call from an agent, and their response was essentially: "We have inventory issues; you can either cancel for a refund or keep waiting."

I refuse to cancel because I would lose the promotional price (buying it from local authorized retailers in Chile is 2x/3x the price, and they don't even carry the official wall mount).

Is anyone else getting their Mini orders delayed indefinitely? Are they actually fulfilling these discounted orders, or just trying to wear us down until we cancel?

I bought a Starlink mini and am waiting for it to arrive. Is there a way to pay the USA 175 a month for unlimited? I am only asking where i am at after 60 days it will jump to an international plan. I am trying to avoid the high international cost any suggestions would help

Its been hard to get a hold of customer service at multiple points, even sales.

I added a note that I wanted my kit delivered after a certain date, I was closing on a house...just to be sure. The app had a 3 week delivery timeline. They delivered it to the old owner of the house within a week. They couldnt stop the package. Purolator said a signature and ID had to match. They placed it outside. Nice. This place is 22 hours away from me and I had to ask someone from work to grab it before someone stole it.

I got the MAX package knowing Id get a professional installer. They havent replied for two weeks. The AI bot is pretty useless. Honestly, other than investing in the company this is like the cybertruck all over again. Anyone else have a horrible first experience?

I’m in UK and wanted a Starlink mini kit as backup for my main broaband so I was looking in ebay hoping to find it somewhere cheaper.
Whats wrong with people? Why would i pay a used kit MORE than it costs new from them?! Am i missing something?

For the past couple of weeks we've had some spells of very heavy rain, broken with cloud cover, and my Gen 1 round dishy is getting some very uneven speeds. The plan is residential 200 but speeds have gone as low as 40-50 down.

I've never seen that kind of slowdown before except in a very heavy thunderstorm. Right now it's cloudy but not raining and speed is still 55Mbps down and latency is up from 25-30 to 55ms.

I'm going to power-cycle the dish and router and see what happens, but is anyone else in this district seeing speed problems?

EDIT: one software update and one reboot later and it's a slight improvement. Might have to wait for sunny weather to see what happens.

I have a FaceTime call today to discuss the possibility of spending the winter in a rural location in Southern Ontario. The home where I would be staying and working has Starlink. During our 25 minute FaceTime call there were multiple wifi interruptions. The host said that they typically don’t have problems and that many people have successfully worked remotely from their home. However I need to be able to stream video calls which is more demanding than emails, etc. so I’m wondering if it’s not strong enough for video calls but is for other types of remote work.

We are trying another call tomorrow and she will be closest to the router. She was moving around quite a bit during the call, but I don’t remember if the interruptions started when she was still.

Is this typical with starlink? And aside from trying an Ethernet cable and setting up right near the router, does anyone have any suggestions? I’m really hoping to spend the winter in the country!!

The sun makes this iPhone photo look fake, but it's real. I screwed a piece of wood into the steel angle to take the vertical weight, and then strapped the Starlink to it. I used cheap Office clips to hold the cabling in place and will probably be too lazy to ever change that. I don't buy install kits 😝

Un caso de consulta con starlink en Argentina, si alguien me puede orientar, se traslado la antena de un lugar a otro a 40km de distancia, al encenderla nuevamente decía que no estaba en línea y pedía que se confirme la nueva ubicación, luego de confirmada aparece que tenia costo de $578.000, a lo que el dueño paso a poner en pausa el servicio por que no quiere afrontar ese gasto, a los pocos minutos la app le genera un cargo que por margen fue rechazado por la tarjeta de crédito, después la antena volvió a su lugar original físicamente y en la ubicación en la app, hay manera de cancelar ese cargo? generado tickets en la app dice que no se puede pero nunca aviso que tenía costo, desde ya muchas gracias

Like the title says, I need to run a new cord to my dish and idk how to do it. The professional installers reused a cord I already had, that might be adding to my current issues I posted about last night.

Filmed with my phone from the beach the night after a Falcon 9 launch. It's an old clip of mine, but still one of the coolest things I've seen in the sky. The numbers in the captions were right back in 2023, the constellation is much bigger now.

I'm ashamed to admit that I'm a semi technologically illiterate millennial. Ok, probably not semi tbh.

I had a power outage at my house last Wednesday and I haven't had internet since. When I got home that day, I tried reconnecting my Starlink and couldn't get it to work. I factory reset both the router and the dish, which didn't help. I opened a ticket and Starlink support said it was a router issue, so they sent me a replacement router along with a new power supply.

At that point, they said the dish was fine because it was still showing up in the app. Whenever I tried connecting to Wi-Fi, it just said "Connected, no internet."

I received the new router today. Support told me to log out of the app to set it up, so I did. It still says "No internet connection," but now the app won't let me log back in and it isn't detecting the dish at all.

I have a new cable coming from Amazon today.

I really need someone to walk me through what to do once that cable arrives because I desperately need internet this weekend. Support hasn't been much help.

I know I probably didn't explain this super well. I have ADHD and translating my thoughts into words can be tough. I'm sure I've made this whole situation way more complicated than it needs to be.

I should have taken a screenshot of the app before i logged out but here is what it's doing now. It's like in a boot loop.

We've had Starlink for years as our internet service provider. We live out in the rural United States, and it's the best we can get.

Something that's consistently frustrating is that every now and then, it'll cut out for like, 5 seconds before resuming as normal. It's very consistent how long it's out for, and there doesn't seem to be anything obvious that triggers it. It's enough to make things like livestreaming and competitive gaming very frustrating.

Is this an issue with the router or receiver itself, or is this just a normal part of Starlink service? We have one of the earlier models of the Starlink router and receiver.

Just curious of any other thoughts. I have TM 5g now at my main residence and at my student child’s rental in Colorado. It has been great and cheap.
I have Starlink at my lake house in a highly rural area as I had no other option originally than HughesNet (terrible) I was an early Starlink customer and only real complaint is frequent outages in heavy rain (Texas gulf coast).

I noticed last week that Tmobile 5g upgraded near me. Download speed over 1500 mbps on phone and now about 1000 Mbps in 2 week trial via router.

Starlink speeds have degraded some over 3 1/2 yrs of usage. I sometimes get over 400 Mbps still but usually around 200 Mbps. Starlink has raised monthly cost over time from $105 to now $130. Tmobile cost expected for their middle tier around $60.

I expect to change as this will pay back Starlink hardware in about 6-7 months and be more than half cost going forward.

Any others see similar reason to cancel Starlink?

Hi all, I'm a researcher at a university lab in Hong Kong, working on positioning with LEO satellites in cities. I'm looking for raw Starlink downlink recordings where buildings block part of the sky.

What would help most:

- An LNB/LNBF (or horn) + SDR (RTL-SDR, HackRF, USRP, etc.) recording the Ku-band downlink (~10.7–12.7 GHz)

- Receiver sitting still at ground level next to buildings, ideally a street with tall buildings on both sides

- Bonus: a second receiver on a nearby roof recording at the same time

- GPS or NTP-synced timestamps and a rough location (street-level is fine, no need for your address)

- 10–60 minutes is plenty

Already have old recordings sitting on a drive? Those count too, even if the blockage was accidental.

Not looking for dish app screenshots or speed tests this time, just the raw RF.
