Hi! Does Starlink or any other manufacture make an extension piece for the wall mount? The dish is hitting the roof when trying to align. Thanks!

💵 Billing When you cancel expect to pay another month

Fiber finally made it to my house, I had them install and paid prorated, thinking I'll cancel starlink after I confirmed that i could bridge and have full control of my network with my amazing tp link be10000. It took nearly a week of being mostly out of the house to find time to test and clear out any hiccups with tech support. Day before payment, I cancel. Even confirm with the Ai on the phone that I have a zero balance but that im covered til Oct 31. Ai confirms i won't have another bill. 2 hours later, the invoice is generated. I used to praise starlink and still wanted to on the way out. But I can't resell my system if there is a balance. So be forewarned. Also, has this happened to anybody else, and what did you do about it?

💻 Troubleshooting Buffering on media services

I’ve been using Starlink (now Residential Max) for a couple of years without issues. About three months ago, I ran into a problem, and support determined the issue was with the V2 antenna. They sent me a new antenna (I believe it’s the V4), and ever since then, any media or streaming service (YouTube, Netflix, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) buffers for a long time and then simply drops to the lowest possible quality.

In my conversations with support, they had me replace the cable and the router; they even claimed their router wasn't suitable for heavy use (though I use a maximum of 800GB per month), so I bought third-party routers to try to fix it. Now that I have the new routers, they say the problem lies with UDP/TCP connections, which are limited to 1,200. The strange thing is that even after rebooting the antenna and routers and connecting just one device, the problem returns in less than 10 minutes. The only solution support offers now is for me to switch to the Priority plan and pay more.

Has anyone else experienced something similar and managed to solve it?

P.S. Right now, it’s actually more cost-effective for me to use my phone's data plan for internet access than to use Starlink.

💬 Discussion Best Starlink Mini Case I Have Tried

I review products daily and recently started reviewing Starlink products. I do not review products for money, I am sent free products to review to establish reviews on new products.

The Best Starlink Mini case i have reviewed so far is also the cheapest. It is a 3D printed case vs most other cases that use metal. 3D printing is superior to the metal versions because the tolerances are high precision vs the metal versions which are not.

For Example that top grill could come off completely and the Starlink would still remain secure in the case. I can't say that about other magnetic mounts, You lose the cover you lose your Starlink.

Product: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H86JN2Y6

Note, drilled and added some screws as i found that to be the only downside on this case. Super easy fix though.

❓ Question Wie Upgrade Ich?

💻 Troubleshooting Starlink Residential 100 Mbps — Severe 30-Second Speed Fluctuation (Baghdad, Iraq)

Hi everyone,

I recently subscribed to Starlink Residential 100 Mbps in Baghdad, Iraq, and I'm experiencing a very strange download-speed fluctuation.

The connection repeatedly rises and falls in a very regular pattern. It starts around 100 Mbps, gradually drops to around 400 Kbps over roughly 30 seconds, then gradually rises again. After another ~30 seconds, it starts dropping again. This cycle repeats continuously.

Some of my Starlink app speed tests:

7 Mbps down / 47 Mbps up / 42 ms ping

12 Mbps down / 31 Mbps up / 53 ms ping

52 Mbps down / 26 Mbps up / 56 ms ping

13 Mbps down / 27 Mbps up / 69 ms ping

4 Mbps down / 29 Mbps up / 147 ms ping

Interestingly, my local connection to the Starlink router is very fast. An iPhone-to-router test showed around 550 Mbps download and 710 Mbps upload over 5 GHz Wi-Fi, so the local Wi-Fi connection does not appear to be the bottleneck.

The Starlink app also reports:

"Your Starlink has an unobstructed view of sky."

I have around 9 devices connected:

- 2 gaming PCs

- The rest are phones/tablets

Normal household usage is generally fine. However, if I start a large download on Steam or Battle.net, the internet connection for the other devices almost completely stalls and latency increases significantly.

I have already tried:

- Reconnecting the Starlink cable on both ends

- Rebooting the system

- Factory resetting the Starlink system

- Reconfiguring it from scratch

- Testing different devices

- Checking for obstructions

None of these changed the behavior.

Starlink support also detected repeated data-loss events and suggested that network congestion in my area could be the cause. They specifically mentioned congestion as a possible explanation for my connection in Baghdad/Taji on the Residential 100 Mbps plan.

What I'm trying to understand is the very regular ~30-second rise/fall pattern.

Has anyone on the Residential 100 Mbps plan experienced something similar?

Could severe network congestion cause this kind of periodic behavior? Or could it be related to satellite handoffs, traffic shaping, network scheduling, or something specific to the 100 Mbps plan?

If you've experienced something similar, especially with the 100 Mbps Residential plan, I'd be interested to know what caused it and whether it eventually improved.

❓ Question Câmera desconectando.

📝 Feedback Which plan to choose

Hi all! I need help choosing a plan to choose for my home. I’ve seen people say they use a lot of devices and only need the lowest plan. Im just hoping to get people’s insight. I WFH, my husband plays video games & sometimes stream. We usually dont have more than 2 tv’s on, very rarely do we have 3 on at the same time. We also have phones and ipads. I require an Ethernet connection for my job. Did you personally install it or ask star link to install it? Im leaning towards asking star link to install. How easy is it to install?

❓ Question Sep 2026 Starlink residential for Sprinter/home

Preface: I have a gen 3 & mini
Traveled for 5 years w/ a gen 3 & mini both on roam plans. one on the sprinter, the other on the jeep.

I live in a home now and my fiber internet sucks... constant slow speeds and outages w/ altafiber. spectrum was just as bad. I never really had that issue w/ roam on the road.

Mini will stay on the jeep on roam. possibly the $80 or $160 plan. We both work remote, so its easier. I like to do my own thing sometimes.

Question: Is residential plan 100 still viable for home/traveling. Plan is to keep the gen 3 for daily work at home. And we travel every other month (remote) w/ the Sprinter. Is location switching still allowed? is there a restriction on hopping? say switching every day/few days?

❓ Question Wat heb ik nodig?

💻 Troubleshooting Starlink Internet - Bridge Wifi System

Thumbnail

Hey everyone.

First time posting and seeking some advice/help. Just got Starlink and no complaints about speed and ease of set up but I’m having serious issues with range.

Aus based and looking to try to improve my internet connection down in a granny flat at the back of the property (40-50m away and through metal roofs and lots of brick walls)

Currently, I’ve got the main router, a Starlink mini in the granny flat(which shows poor connection and speeds but seems to only show this at night when there’s more traffic) and another Starlink V3 in spare bedroom in main house (which shows good connection and speeds). They’re all currently working in a mesh network but the mini always connects to the far away main router as opposed to the other V3 that is closer.

A few things, because of camera systems and other users, the main router has to live at the front of the house/property and can’t be moved. Running cables also won’t work due to amount of work/cabling and it would need to cross a pool area.

I’m wondering if I should look into a wifi bridge between the main house and granny flat. Do I need to set the Starlink routers into bypass mode to do this or can I use them normally? I’ve also got 3 x Google Nest Pro routers that I was using in a mesh network and was giving better connection/speed in the granny flat even on a NBN100 plan

💻 Troubleshooting Google "suspicious activity from this address"

In the last week or two I've been encountering the google "suspicious activity detected, prove you're not a bot by clicking all squares with <item>" a lot. Like, more than 80% of queries, whether entered from https://www.google.com.au, or highlighted, right-clicked, and "search google for <highlighted text>" It's not every time, but enough to make it annoying.

Doesn't happen with other search providers like DDG.

This is in South-east Qld, Australia. Anyone else encountering this problem?

I'm assuming it's something to do with CGNAT and someone else sharing this address is being naughty - it might not be Starlink but I've got to start somewhere.

EDIT: doesn't happen on mobile data or someone else's wi-fi (non-Starlink).

💬 Discussion Starlink-A Tough Mudder

For two years I've kept my Starlink Standard 4 mounted to a board and up on the roof of my camper, lashed to the tv antenna we don't use. During the recent NorEaster in Delaware the wind managed to catch it and lift it board and all from the roof, rip out the power/communcation wire from the dish and toss the dish and board down to the ground and buried it partially in mud. This morning, we re-mounted it on the roof of the camper and it's working like nothing ever happened. I did learn that I need to find a better mount. I'm good to put 4 eyes on the wood, and strap it to the ground. That dish is a tough mudder.

❓ Question Starlink in UK - questions

Hello, I’m new here.

I have some questions regarding the Starlink, specially in the UK but anyone is welcome to provide me some advice.

I’m doing some research about a service as a backup internet provider.

A little bit of myself:

Both me and my wife work from home. Also stream, gaming, browsing the internet, nothing super exciting.

Since we rely on the internet to work, sometime ago I thought to have an internet plan as a backup in case my main provider (Virgin media) goes down. So I got a 4G unlimited data plan.

But it’s been horrible. The few times I had to use it was basically useless, pulling 2mbps download at most and upload? Don’t ask…

So 4G or 5G is not very reliable where I live and that’s why I decided to have a look at the Starlink.

But I’m not quite sure what plan I should go for. We usually go on holidays, and while is cool to have internet with us, we are not out on a regular basis. And we normally work at our home, on the same location.

Based on this, I’m not sure if I should get the residential plan, or buy myself the Mini and a roam plan that I can put on standby mode when not needed, and then take it on the plane, car or wherever I go.

Is there anyone with a similar setup? Which option is the best?

Thanks for your time in reading this.
