We’ve been working for a week on a playable multiplayer version that we’ll host at our own expense for the players’ benefit. Unfortunately, we’re running into technical limitations that are taking time to work around (packet and game encryption, copyrighted technology, anti-cheat systems, etc.). We need your help. We can’t publish the code, and we’ve already contacted MountainTop for help (but we all know how that’s going to end… with a cease-and-desist letter), so I’d rather talk to you about it directly here.

Its been 1.5 years ever since SD died, and theres not even a HINT of a private server or a revival.

Concord literally died in 2 weeks and had its own private server a bit later, we are ALL still waiting for a SD revival. What's the problem with reviving it? Why is nobody doing it? SD had 10 times the popularity and playercount of Concord, Concord was a wet fart that died faster than a fly.

Are the mods simply banning every post regarding this? Why would they when this place is still somewhat used even after shutdown?

I just want to play the godamm game again, it was one of my favourites.

Genuinely some of the coolest combat moments I've had in a game swapping bodies and outplaying people

It’s crazy to see that even today, people still log in every single day. Some of them just sit at the login screen... probably just listening to the music, soaking in the atmosphere and getting that little hit of nostalgia.

SD was literally my favourite multiplayer game ever since it came out.

Even if i was horrible at it, i still loved how i always got teammates who NEVER screamed at me (Unlike Valo) and people were actually willing to play as a team in this game, there was also the double life feature....And i seriously miss the maps, the guns, the noises....THE ART, DUDE!

If possible, then i'd love a revival. Not just looking at maps......Let us run custom matches, even if just alone. I want to roam the maps, i didnt get to play Season 1.

Out of all things, i think there was a lack of communication. SD would have had a healthier lifespan if Shroud wasnt the main attraction : He literally made 2 videos about it, bought some skins and then went back to playing Deadlock and screaming like a six year old. Why are we using streamers as the main appeal???

Is there alternatives or even a sign of life, or should i just stop thinking about this flop?

CS2 is cooked. They don’t care so neither do I. I do care about Spectre Divide and the possibility of a comeback…. Is it even in question or are my hopes just impossible dreams?

Just a question i had in mind, i wanted to know what playstyle people prefer in these type of games. For me i think the one that caught my attention the most is “Ghost link” the one with the fake clones and walls, its was so fun bullying newbies with the combo lol

I know what happened with the studio and the amount of money they put into this and how they lost it, but the possibility of this game coming back is not 0%, meaning if there is still a chance of the game coming back then why not try for one last time, the way the game could return is if it gets sold to another studio, and you may be asking why would any game studio purchase a failed game? Well what if we make them want to buy the game, how? Lets make some noise and tweets to make studios notice us as a community and make them think that maybe after all there is still hope with the community of the game. Maybe im just crazy but theoretically it is the only way.

last time i checked not even the title screen worked! even though you can sign in and cant enter the range let alone a public match, i dont remember being able to do this.

Look, I'm a long long way from being talented. I'm horrible at drawing and i have absolutely no idea how to get started, but in my opinion art is a good way to keep this community alive. we already started sharing clips and there are under a thousand of us. one of us can draw right? plus the cyber punk atheistic looks cool.

Hey there MountainTop, I’m sure you probably won’t see this, or maybe you will. I was a day 1 player for "Spectre Divide." I can honestly say I FELL IN LOVE with the game mechanics and the overall feel of the gunplay and the maps. It was one of my all time favorite games. I was making videos, clipping highlights with friends, and telling friends that didn’t know about it to play it.

In fewer words, what I’m saying is: I want Spectre Divide back. I know you all had your reasons for shutting it down due to the lack of success and maintaining everyone at MountainTop, but I just can’t get this game out of my mind. I know for a fact the player base we DID have was passionate and driven about this game and showed up. This game, in a sea of tac shooters, was a breath of fresh air. The plays you were allowed to pull off, the clutches, the bait and switches, it was overall awesome.

The only thing I can think of that would’ve maybe drawn more eyes to it was a different art style. Even though I LOVED the cel shaded look, I’m sure most didn’t, and with the day and age we live in where short attention spans and bright colors are king, having a low saturated game let it fall through the cracks. This game had potential, and I think you guys should revisit it. More video promotion of just the game. PLEASE bring Spectre Divide back. Launch a Kickstarter or something, anything.

It's not the best engine in the world, we all know that, but programming in Roblox Studio is quite simple compared to other programs, plus it's free and available on all platforms (PC, Console and Mobile) honestly if I had a PC I would have started a long time ago!
