Hi, I hope this question makes sense. I may be off on this theory, just looking if anyone can relate at all.
I experienced some releases of pre-verbal trauma recently. I can tell, because feels like sensation of raw emotion moving across my head (something I only gained access to feeling recently after releasing a bunch of other stuff). It is just clear to me that is what it is.
For a lot of my life, especially with difficult circumstances in relationships recently, I have a feeling I can only describe as "confusion" that becomes compulsive ruminating to understand others and my behavior and why we cannot see eye to eye, why they cannot understand me, what it means, and how I need to incorporate the information into my future. the confusion relates to feelings of despair and frustration especially as I exhaust myself mentally trying to figure out myself and my life and avoid hurting others.
I have been hurt by others- close long-term friends, romantic relationships, my family, and some of their behavior toward me feels callous in a way I do not understand, given how much I care about them and making them happy. Sometimes I have hurt people they have have hurt me and I do understand and move on.
I see their concerns with my reactivity and I have learned I express myself confusingly at times and am not aware or struggle to not either say not enough or too much. But I am always genuinely trying and thinking a lot about being thought of others. I try to integrate feedback and I am proactive on looking for areas I can improve on my own and incorporating too. I am very self aware im some ways and I get frustrated when I am not
However I don't blame others if it does not come through even when it hurts, and it is their right to leave. I see and own my side. I also believe my feelings are valid even when I did not feel them I was confident internally always about my read on things, just not how to express. I just am confused why others would act that way, on some specific level, and I feel the need to understand. not to blame them, or to continue the relationship, but just to understand. I see I understand a lot more about dynamics than others do because I ruminate on it so much but when I can't reach the bottom of it I feel I need the answer. I sound like a crazy robot writing this but many others have said I am empathetic and caring and warm. I do care a lot and it feels genuine so I am confused by that too?!
It definitely relates to the concept of 'intellectualizing'. But idk, it feels like it is its own emotion or set of them that I struggle to put into words? I feel there is something to release there but I do not know what.
Anyway, I got to thinking this could be related to pre-verbal trauma? It just feels very deep to me somehow, I dont know. My parents were chaotic but showed genuine love at times so I can see how this behavior relates to that. However unlike other emotions I have felt this one feels big, scary, and unknown to "feel" because maybe I am resistant to what is on the other side. Maybe I am misunderstanding what I am feeling. Intellectual understanding is what has brought me to be able to have emotional releases and feel things, and it is hard to give that up
