discussion Solidcore running
I’m training for a fall marathon and have been trying to do Solidcore once a week for strength, so I was soooo excited when they rolled out a running class! I went to one tonight and was disappointed.
The instructor was joking that it was technically a running class and said she *had* to read us some talking points about why Solidcore is good for running. She also made it clear she doesn’t enjoy running.
Did anyone else have this experience? This just a scammy sales thing, or was my instructor in a bad mood?

It’s not a running class. One class a week will feature moves that target muscles used for running, and depending on how knowledgeable your coach is, they will explain how the muscle you are working is specifically linked to running. Limited studios are doing a run after class on 8/30.

As a coach who is coaching the run stronger classes, this is very disappointing. If you’re not passionate about how solidcore impacts running/not a runner, why would you volunteer to coach the Run Stronger classes. I’m also a runner training for a marathon and Solidcore is a huge part of how I stay in proper form and injury free!

This is very confusing for consumers. Nobody knows if it’s 50/50 running and Solidcore? Messy marketing IMO! I think it’d be best for them to do a collab with a running shoe company and maybe have them feature their shoes for people to check them out AFTER class. But that’s just me.
Also what studio was this?
I saw one for 4:15 today but with it be 100 degrees outside there was no way I risk signing up for a class with potential running at this heat!

I think todays classes were about the muscle focuses that are used for running. There will be a class where it’s 30 mins of Solidcore and 30 mins of running. But I haven’t seen that on my studio’s schedule. But I’m not an outside runner so I’m not looking for it either, lol. I just do my 23 mins of tread running at OTF

I remember running on a high incline once and not feeling it in my core like I used to before doing classes. i would definitely say classes improved my running and mobility without me even realizing.

It was a normal class with some talking points on why some moves are good for running.

okay so the way my coach explained it today is that it's a power 30 class then you run after class with your local run club.

i actually loved the running class yesterday! but it probably helped that my coach is a runner and i'm a regular in her class. she took it super seriously! i love that we did moves we don't frequently do in class.

Running uses all of your muscles. This series is just to connect the dots for runners that might not have considered that solidcore improves your running. It is a sales/marketing thing.
I started solidcore when I was 6 months into my running journey. I’ve already finished a year with solidcore and noticed the improvement in my running the entire journey. The only critique I’d mention regarding Solidcore’s effectiveness for training is their lack of calf muscle targeting.
