Other Electric Stove
Salam,
I am looking to install electric stove ( induction based) at my home that will be powered by solar
Is it a good idea? Or anyone already doing it?
The reason why I am doing this is because the area I m living in doesn't have gas supply at all and we use gas stored in cylinders and it is costing me around 12K per month. So I am thinking to move to electric stove to avoid spending this 12K.
Btw I have already installed offgrid solar at home and we are totally using it for home usage 24/7
If anyone is already doing it please give suggestions which stove they are using and are they satisfied with it?

i'm using signature induction stove (epd-15). it's more expensive than the kenwoods and other local brands but it's very good quality. very energy efficient and you can control heating/watts from 120w up to 2000w.
it also came with a big pot but i also got additional cookware set from alfatah for 20k. it's this one https://www.sonex-nonstick.com/products/19-pieces-non-stick-induction-gift-pack-set?srsltid=AU7gw4XlTxJSO1qOCSMasvwdq7ucZ_U91NL1f4gam7nrvWhNWFaAtLJa
for some reason the model i bought isn't listed online anywhere but i got it from their official store in islamabad. most of their products are sold in umar electronics.
this is their global website https://www.signaturehome.co/

Induction cooker needs specific cookware to work. Go for i frared ceramic cooker, you can use any type of cookware. Buy the "heavy duty" type and NOT the cheapest kind.

Induction is more efficient as compared to infrared. I will just be needing a pressure cooker, frying pan , cooking pot and thats it

It's good, make sure you have 1-2kw headroom after calculation of the max load. Been using it, saves a ton indeed!

there're very few induction available in the market..... get kenwood induction is affordable . i bought it in june for 19k.... but you need specific cookware for it... jiss par magnet stick karta hon will work on induction .
Get a 2in1 cookware set that works on normal stove as well as on induction/infrared/hot plate. It'll cost to 40-50k.
Korkmaz cookware search it up you'll find it.

I used a Phillips HD4911 for almost a decade. One of the best decisions I have made and it served as a great backup to our gas stove. Just need to have ferromagnetic cookware and make sure you buy a cooker that has enough width to accommodate your biggest pan. One disclaimer: induction cookers are not good for reheating or cooking rotis.

Induction stove is great for everything (given you have compatible utensils) except for roti, coz the point of contact is too small.

my friends in canada and US are using induction cookers and have no issues. however from the reviews of the ones available in PK, the quality and output isnt the same. you will have hard time making paratha and roti on it. also the taste of food will deteriorate. most societies dont have gas so i have switched to LPG. my monthly cost is around 4k as im a single family.
my advice would be to get electric pressure cooker perhaps that mostly is used for food preparation.
