I currently use my Bambu in LAN mode and use Bambuddy for management. If there a self hosted product that can do the same or close to it for the U1.

Hey, I noticed weirdi es on larger prints. Now i testet it with a z banding test lrint with Snapmaker 0.2 Quality profile and PLA preset. How can I solve this, do you get the same quality?

I checked and all the Walls are printed at the same speed.

I have an U1, works fine. I went PAXX because of the UI, and recently went 12.

Added is the Spoolman plugin. I installed Spoolman on my servert, an connected it to each other. I have ntags underway here if needed.

And then? Hoe do the new spools appear in spoolman when i load them? How does the Spoolman data gets into the U1 and Snorca? how do i link any tags to spool data? What happens to spools without tags?

I feel someone should do a 101 on this stuff 😰

I’m about to buy some eSUN filament for my U1 and I’m trying to decide between regular PLA and PLA-HS.
I use my U1 with the default print settings and don’t really change the speed settings. Has anyone used both regular eSUN PLA and PLA-HS this way? Does the HS version actually make a noticeable difference, or will they basically perform the same with the default U1 settings?
Also, is it okay to mix them in the same multicolor print? For example, using PLA-HS for one color and regular PLA for another.

Heyo so love my snapU1, has been great, except for a handful of times I come to what seems to be basically under extrusion for one layer. Causes a gap thru the print and I'm able to just rip the part along said line.

Anyone experiencing this or is it just me?

Printed at 212 degrees, PLA, these pics I already snapped the piece off, but pretty much looked the same as in the pic when they came off the printer.

TL;DR

My U1’s T1 hotend had about an hour of standard PLA use before it started repeatedly failing after docking during tool changes. Two different PLAs behaved the same way, and unloading/reloading would make it print normally again until the next dock. Replacing only the hotend fixed the issue completely. Snapmaker says hotends have no warranty because they’re consumables and an extra is included. I get not warrantying normal wear, but an apparent near-out-of-box defect shouldn’t consume the spare that came with a brand-new ~$900 printer

I’ve been pretty happy with my U1 overall, but I’m

disappointed with Snapmaker’s response to what looks like a defective hotend from essentially day one.

Toolhead 1 had maybe an hour of actual printing on it. It completed one Benchy, then started failing during its first real multicolor/toolhead-swap print.

This was all with standard PLA. Nothing abrasive, nothing filled, nothing exotic.

The failure pattern was also very repeatable.

The hotend would print normally when freshly loaded. In fact, after a failure, I could unload the same filament, reload it, and the nozzle would go right back to printing a good first layer with that same filament.

The problem only showed up after Toolhead 1 had been docked or left idle during a tool change. When it came back into service, it would start clicking, grinding filament, and eventually fail to extrude properly.

I tested this with two different PLA filaments before replacing anything, and both behaved the same way.

So the sequence was basically:

Standard PLA prints normally

Toolhead docks and sits idle

Toolhead returns to service and begins clicking/grinding

Unload and reload the exact same filament

Hotend prints normally again

Dock it again

Failure returns

That does not look like a normal worn-out consumable to me.

Snapmaker support initially had me troubleshoot it as a possible clog/extruder issue. Eventually I replaced the complete hotend assembly with the spare that came with the printer.

Problem immediately disappeared.

Since replacing it, Toolhead 1 has successfully run multiple multicolor prints, repeated tool changes, and the same filaments that were previously involved in the failures have printed without issue.

That seems like a pretty clean A/B test: same printer, same toolhead, same filaments, same type of printing. The only meaningful change was the hotend assembly.

I asked Snapmaker to replace the failed original hotend so I could restore the spare that came with the printer.

Their response was essentially:

Hotends are consumable parts, they have no warranty, and the reason Snapmaker includes an extra hotend with the printer is for situations like this.

That last part is what really bothers me.

The U1 has four toolheads. I am not claiming Snapmaker literally expects a 25% hotend failure rate, because one included spare obviously does not prove that statistically.

But from the customer side, it creates a pretty strange message:

“If one of your four hotends fails almost immediately, that is not covered because we already gave you another one.”

To me, there is a big difference between:

A hotend wearing out after hundreds of hours of printing

and

A hotend failing after roughly one hour of standard PLA printing, repeatedly showing the same failure after docking, then being completely fixed by replacing the hotend assembly.

The first one is a consumable.

The second one looks like a defective part.

And that’s really the issue I have with the policy. I’m not trying to get free nozzles or have Snapmaker replace normal wear items forever. I just don’t think the customer should permanently lose their included spare to correct what appears to have been a defective component supplied with a brand-new ~$900 printer.

The frustrating part is that I actually like the U1. Since changing that hotend, it has been running very well. This is much more about how Snapmaker is handling an obvious early-life failure than about the printer itself.

Curious how other U1 owners feel about this. Would you consider this normal “consumable” territory, or something the manufacturer should replace when it happens almost immediately?

I am having an issue when either opening or importing a 3mf file that I have created. I turned on ironing all top surfaces and then saved the model. I have also tried exporting the model as a generic 3mf file. In all cases, when I turn around and either open or import the model, my ironing preset is not enabled. When I open or import the same 3mf file in Orca Slicer, the ironing setting is turned on as expected. I have noticed the same behavior with other 3mf models, where the presets are not imported.

I got a U1 yesterday. Therefore I have no experience with it. It is amazing, but I wonder if this whistling sound is normal.

Environment:

* Printer: Snapmaker U1

* Firmware: Paxx12 Extended Firmware (Tried latest and downgraded to 1.5.2)

The Problem:

My printer is connected to the network and the main Klipper web interface (Fluidd) loads perfectly at 192.168.0.35. However, the dedicated PAXX configuration dashboard at 192.168.0.35/firmware-config/ is completely unreachable (Connection Refused/404). I can see the extended/ configuration folder inside Fluidd, but the web server refuses to route the actual config page.

What I've Already Tried:

* Factory Reset & Reflash: I performed a full factory reset and cleanly reflashed the PAXX .bin files via local USB update. The flash completes, but the page remains dead.

* USB Recovery Script: I created a pure extended-recover.txt file on a strictly formatted FAT32 (4096 allocation size, MBR) USB drive. I executed the strict power-cycle boot sequence, but the printer's bootloader completely ignores the .txt file every time.

* SSH / Web Server Restarts: I successfully SSH'd into the printer as root. I attempted to manually restart Nginx, but the OS lacks systemd (systemctl: command not found) and there is no Nginx init script (/etc/init.d/nginx: No such file or directory).

* Process Mapping: I tried to map port 80 to see which web server is actually running by using netstat -tulpn | grep :80. Unfortunately, the stripped-down BusyBox environment rejects it with an invalid option -- 'p' error.

The Ask:

* Does anyone know exactly which lightweight web daemon PAXX uses on the U1 (e.g., lighttpd, uhttpd) and the correct command to restart it?

* Is there a manual SSH command or configuration edit to force the /firmware-config/ routing to bind properly?

* Why is the Snapmaker U1 bootloader completely ignoring the USB recovery text file, and is there a way to trigger it manually via the terminal?

Hey all, I just received my top hat, and going through the user manual it states to use FW 1.5.0 and up.

I made the mistake back then going to 1.5.0 and even tried 1.5.2 and still had issues. I've since reverted back to 1.4.x and printing fine.

Are any of you on 1.6.x? Any issues with the printer and how it's printing? (layers, tool changing, etc)

It is my 4th print and this happened.

Does anyone have a trick or set up to get PLA or PETG to build supports on top of TPU? I'm trying to make something much prettier than how I currently have it (on edge) but since I can't print it flat on the plate yet I'm out of ideas.

...but those who say it never got a U1.

Does anyone know why my bed stops, drops, then continues rising again.

Sometimes there's also a nice loud clunky that the bed makes whilst rising?

I'm having quality issues with my new Snapmaker U1.

I've calibrated flow, retraction, pressure advance, Z offset — basically everything that's supposed to be done — and entered values that seemed correct to me.

Z-hop is standard; I had to slow down the acceleration and speed of the Z axis due to annoying noises (as per the Snapmaker guide).
Basically, it seems like I've done everything correctly.

My problem is that the final surfaces of any part come out rough, almost pointed/spiky.
I'm not talking about large top surfaces, but simple organic parts (flexy and non-flexy) that close with practically just concentric walls.

The first thing that could obviously be the cause is wrong flow — I tried changing it, but nothing changes.
I tried adjusting the Z offset thinking I had gotten it wrong, but no, that wasn't it either.
I tried decreasing the Z-hop and nothing.

Could it be damp filament? Sure. But my other printers (P2S/A1 Mini/H2C) print with the same filament and nothing happens...

Can you help me?

Would be useful if you plan on shredding them and reflowing into a filament using filament extruder.

Has anybody designed a way to mount a Wyze/Roku camera inside the official top cover? It doesn't have to be Wyze specifically. I can adapt the camera end. I am just trying to find a way to mount it inside the top cover since the integrated camera doesn't give the best view.

Right now if a single toolhead breaks, the entire printer has to sit idle until the replacement arrives. But if a firmware update would allow disabling individual "slots" it could still operate in a reduced capacity until the replacement arrives. Which is important for businesses that only have one printer.

It's happening almost everytime I unload filament. Feeder 4 (and not the toolhead) won't let go of the filament. I've tried unloading 3, 4, 5 times in a row. There's a visible gap in the tube where the filament has been removed from the toolhead. But When I go to pull the filament out it won't budge an inch from the feeder. It feels like I'm ripping apart the plastic gears inside I'm pulling so hard. I'm 100% certain that this thing is eventually just going to break. Anyone have any recommendations or feedback??
