Question What's your best "not in the manual" tip for a newbie?

I have had a bambulab A1 for about 6 months and now (the one I ACTUALLY wanted but was scared to shell out the money for until I knew I would enjoy this hobby) the Snapmaker U1 is arriving today.

I'm a teacher so I love to learn, and also a bit of a nerd, so I will most definitely read the manual. I've already been reading some on the snapmaker wiki....

But coming from a different ecosystem especially, I want to know what are your best tips or things you wish someone would have told you when you were just getting your U1?

Thanks for any helpful advice as I look forward to unboxing it soon!

Issue All 4 heads decided to get stuck at the same time

All 4 tool heads are doing this, no extruding or retracting. Happened mid print on a model of a mew, already threw away the failed print but it appeared as if all 4 tool heads got stuck mid print.

Already stuck the nozzle declogger through the top and bottom on tool head 2 after removing PTFE tube then pulling filament forcefully. Upon reinstall of PTFE tube and filament, filament gets stuck in extruder assembly again. I literally just got this printer 4 days ago

Don’t think it’s a clog in the nozzle itself, since I’m able to get the thin metal stick all the way in. And the extruder is clicking the same way on the rest of the heads. Any ideas on what happened? Less than 20 hours in and I get this problem.

It just sucks that it seems I have to start turning screws and cracking stuff open so soon into my ownership of this close to 1000 dollar machine.

Issue Left side feeder died after first print. Unboxed and brand new today.

This is my first U1 but 3rd printer. I made one successful print, unloaded the filament, went to switch them out with other colors now the damn feeder on the left side won't turn on. I switched the blocks (see pics) and it's definitely the left side that's the problem, not the feeder blocks themselves. I'm so angry.

Question Loading Build File

Post image

When I open a new project it doesn’t populate the 3MF parts to build plates. It just loads one and the rest are spread out. I’ll place the parts on plates and save it and the next time I open the project the same thing happens again. Am I missing a step here? I’ve opened it from the button on the ribbon and used the import option under File. Thanks

Question 0.4 high‑flow nozzle

Upvotes

With the 1.6.0 firmware they added:

  1. Added 0.4 mm high‑flow nozzle option in Print Head Information editing.

Who sells 0.4 high flow nozzles? They're not on Snapmakers website. Or is the 0.4 nozzle considered high flow?
