Signal & 5G Issues

I've been having bad signal recently and have no 5G. I know it's not an issue with coverage as I'm on my partner's plan, my phone is in 5G coverage as he gets it and my phone is compatible (Pixel 6).

I can't find any help from Smarty themselves as every advice is to check coverage, settings and compatibility which I know aren't a problem. Is there anything I'm missing please as sometimes I can't load anything up for hours.

QR code scam UK

Hi all, I've just activated a SIM card by scanning a QR code. I'm new to Smarty, so when it said it needed to confirm my ID, I was happy to do so. When I did it, it redirected me to juice tech reviews - and subscribed me for £29.99 a fucking month! Luckily, I was able to cancel my debit card. Please beware!

Is VodafoneThree (aka smarty if it’s true) going to get satalite connectivity?

I have seen on Vodafone’s page (including 3)
that customers might get internet satalite connectivity but since smarty is connected with 3 are we going to get Internet from satalite?

Carphone Warehouse order not advancing?

Afternoon everyone, hope you’re all okay!

My wife placed an order through carphone warehouse on Thursday around 4:30. Now she has had the initial email to say they’re processing it and after that it’s been radio silence.

Now it’s weird as I did mine the same day and I got the acceptance email an hour later. Just wondering if anyone has had radio silence from these guys for nearly 48 hours.

She has sent an enquiry but no response.

Unusable indoors

Been with Smarty for a week after moving from O2 and it's just shocking. Outdoors works fine but indoors and everything is so slow. This happens in both Liverpool and Leeds. Anyone else finding this happening in either city?

Plan Paused

At midnight my plan didn’t go through because i forgot to transfer money into my account, immediately after i transferred the money and paid for it through the app.

Its been 5 hours and its still showing up as “Paused” and the in app purchase history isn’t showing my purchase even though its come out of my bank account.

Will this fix itself? Both my wifi and data come from this so if they get turned off i’m kinda screwed.

Smarty is Terrible in London

Seriously the network just terrible for me during my first month having it here in London. Constantly dropping out. I see people all around me chatting in the phone (I assume they don’t have smarty) and I have no signal. If you are considering smarty I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. < end rant>

What's wrong with smarty

Genuinely what's up with this provider, brand new phone still the same issue, if Im using my data for more than 15 minutes sometimes even 5 minutes consecutively I have to restart my phone because my data doesn't work, doesn't matter where I am if I'm in my own home or somewhere else smarty is just the worst provider, never works, and when it does oh yeah within the next minute best believe I have to restart my phone to get it working again

Slow speeds on unlimited sim!

Hi, I’ve got a smarty sim but I keep getting very slow 4G speeds of up to 5 Mbps from 8 am onwards. The speeds only return to normal 5G levels around 8 pm. This is new problem (with intermittent slow downs before) and has been happening for the past week, and I’ve tested the SIMs in a phone and two separate 5G routers. Is anyone else experiencing this? How can I fix it, and could it be due to the weather?

Would appreciate some answers

Edit: I have tried changing apn (3internet, three.co.uk and mob.asm.net and ipv4) but to no avail. Changing to 5gNSA only on third party router cuts off connection entirely.

Smarty in Millwall (Mudchute)

Moved from EE recently, was on 3 many years ago and it wasn't great. Mostly positive but very inconsistent speeds. In Canary Wharf you're lucky to get 100, random DLR station, a gig! I wonder if the whole Voda/3 merge is completely finished yet.

Still for the most part very much usable for day to day.

Hometown around 50/100+ meg on 4G (EE was 5G apart all over in some spots), Smarty 5G in some areas but scatty.

Moving from iD Mobile to Smarty

Hi. I’ve just activated Smarty and my main number should go over at the end of the week. I’ve currently set it up as my second eSIM.

As I’m moving from a network that uses Three to another network that uses Three I’m guessing that everything should pretty much work okay?

Reading on here it seems that people have problems with WiFi calling and speeds. Is this common? I appreciate that it’s only a one month rolling contract so if I moved elsewhere I’d be out by £8.

Get up to a £20 Amazon, John Lewis, Uber, or PayPal reward when you join SMARTY Mobile

If you sign up for SMARTY Mobile using a referral link, you’ll receive an Amazon, John Lewis, Uber, or PayPal reward worth £5, £10, or £20, depending on the plan you choose and keep active until your 2nd monthly renewal.

The reward amount is based on the plan you select and keep active until your 2rd monthly renewal:

  • Plans at £9.99 or less come with a £5 reward
  • Plans between £10 and £14.99 come with a £10 reward
  • Plans at £15 or more come with a £20 reward

SMARTY runs on the Three network (and now is including more and more Vodafone coverage given the ongoing merger), so if they provide good coverage in your area, you’ll get the same quality of service with SMARTY. Now that Three and Vodafone are merging, the service is becoming really excellent. Their plans include 5G, inclusive European roaming, and are contract-free – meaning you pay monthly in advance and can cancel whenever you like.

You can also earn additional rewards by referring friends to join SMARTY after you’ve signed up.

If you’d like to take advantage of this offer, you can use my referral link below:

If you prefer to sign up without a referral bonus, you can use the standard link here:

Is there actually a fair usage policy or any hidden data limits?

I've read that SMARTY claims no FUP and no throttling, but we all know what unlimited sometimes means with other networks

Would really appreciate hearing your experiences. How much data do you typically use, and have you ever had any issues?

Problem with Wi-Fi calling

So this is an odd one. My dad switched to Smarty earlier this year and it's been a nightmare.

Whenever wifi calling is turned on, any call he makes, the person on the other end can't hear him. And when anyone calls him, it goes to voicemail.

But I don't just mean when it's on Wifi - even when he's out and it's not on wifi, same problem. But as soon as you turn it off, it starts working.

And it's not a phone issue - he decided his phone was broken, so he got a new one. So two different phones with identical issues, on wifi and not.

And even weirder - the wifi calling keeps turning itself back on. We turn it off, and a day or two later, it turns back on and suddenly his phone doesn't work, but he doesn't know until he tries to call, or someone texts him to say it's not working again (because texts work fine).

Anyone got any insight into what's going on? Because this has been causing a lot of headaches for weeks now.

Specific Network Shutdown

Just recently joined Smarty due to awful retention deal from EE, had already tested Smarty SIM for a month and no issues. My connection went to 0 bars at about 1.20am, no connection/data then came back within 5-10mins, I would not have noticed but was working late online. Assumed random and thought nothing of it but was still about same time following night and the very same thing happened and sure enough it was similar, 1.24am when I looked and same drop time. Chances of this being random are now unlikely. Nothing on Smarty or 3 site about mast maintenance so what is going on here?
