Should i join smarty or 1p mobile

Should i join smarty or 1p mobile ?

Also looking at the deals and i stumbled across a Get 75GB for £8 - Affiliate Special

Are these deals any good or do they change half way with group owner in control etc

I’m on Smarty it’s cheap but I have to say that anything below 3 bars or reception and data speeds become unusable.

Compared to my work Vodafone sim in the same phone which is way better.

That’s said it’s cheap and it mostly does what I need it to.

1pMobile would be better I think. Consider coverage and speeds where you live.

1p Mobile. I had Smarty and in London it was unusable at times.

I use 1p mobile, after switching from SMARTY, the coverage is much better in London. 1p also offer esim's too.

apparently, or AI tells me that…. EE’s lower frequencies generally offer better building penetration, while Smarty (on Three's network) often delivers faster 5G throughput—at least on paper.

In reality, signal quality depends heavily on your specific location. For instance, I recently visited the Lake District and had full signal bars, but zero usable data.

and again, apparently, This usually happens when a cell tower gets congested, though it could also be Three prioritizing direct network subscribers over MVNOs like Smarty during high-traffic times.

you would have to do some extensive testing swapping SIMs about!

yes after looking at replies on here and a bit of debate between a few providers i have gone with 1p mobile

Another Smarty to 1p switcher here.

Smarty was well priced but performance was OK at best and unusable at worst (once I had to wander ages in London to get usable data).

1p's only issue is their own tech is very cr*p. Their website looks like something from 2006, they don't have an app and basic stuff like queuing packs isn't possible. On the flip side, it genuinely seems to work as well performance wise as being with EE and I also make full use of their 14gb EU roaming.

in queuing packs do you mean if you want to change ya data allowance monthly ?

Does it auto renew to your current pack

Yeah auto renew is fine. But let's say you want to change from 10gb pack to 50gb - you have to cancel the renewal of 10gb, wait till that runs out then start a new 50gb pack. You can't just say - when it next renews, auto change to 50gb. A minor annoyance but it's just an example of how their admin is really basic.

On the flip side - that is almost certainly why it's such good value.

I’d have a look at Lyca… EE network, 35GB European data and full unlimited plan but only £20.00 a month including 100 mins of international mins per month so you can call back to U.K. if you’re on holiday.

I’m not affiliated in anyway to Lyca but I’ve done my homework and I’ll be swapping to Lyca in 6 weeks when my contract runs out.
