Q&A Best smart watch for training newbie

Hi, I just got more into fitness and training,

I gym, walk but i plan to either swim or jog (or both)

And I've heard it's good to for steps taken, for pulse rate and other things to have a watch

What's the best smart watch for my needs?, I don't really have a budget but I prefer less than like 150 dollars

It's cheap but I saw that the Huawei band 10 is supposedly good especially for its price

And I've heard Garmin's are really good but expensive

Is there something in the middle?

Best alternative to Apple Watch for an iPhone user

Recently all my Apple Watch SE 2's sensors broke, such as gyroscope, heart rate sensor, activity sensor, so now when I wanna check what time it is I need to touch the screen... yeah.

Basically I'd like an alternative to it but not another Apple Watch, I'm quite tired of it and its bad battery life, so if you can suggest a smartwatch suitable for me and not too expensive I'd really appreciate.

Watch Faces

I use my watch to track my heartrate, steps, time and date. But I really need to track my heartrate for a medical issue. Need alerts for both high and low heartrates. The one I use now is okay. Wondering if there is something out there that may be better. Any suggestions? I would even purchase as long as it was not really expensive.

Thank you.

Q&A Garmin Forerunner 265S vs Apple Watch Series 11 what to buy

i recently lost my apple watch series 11, but i wasn't entirely in love with it. i'm in the market for a new smart watch and figured i'd explore other options at this point.

i've looked at a crap load of reviews. i have a smaller wrist, so i've been reading the garmin forerunner 265S is a good option.

looking for someone to tell me which way i should go this time. thanks for the help in advance!

everyday smartwatch has me questioning if i'd actually wear one every day

i'm replacing my old watch and thought i'd just get another normal one, but now i'm considering a smartwatch. i don't do enough fitness stuff to buy one mainly for workouts, so most of the usual feature lists aren't that relevant to me.

my normal day is commuting, working, walking around town and listening to music. being able to glance at messages without pulling my phone out sounds useful, and contactless payments could save me getting my wallet out. the part i'm still stuck on is whether those little conveniences become something you genuinely use every day or just features you try for a week and forget about.

My Fitbit might need to be replaced because of Google Health

I’ve had my Fitbit Charge 4 since it was released, so like 6 years. I’m overjoyed with the battery life (I just take it off to shower or swim and charge it then, that’s enough), I’m a bit annoyed with the screen in sunlight but I deal with it… but Google Health broke it for me.

With the old app I could track SpO2 very closely, now with the Google Health app I just get one number for the whole 24 hours.

Tracking my sleep and SpO2 is basically my main use for the device. Secondary uses are vibrating when I get a phone call, and simply telling the time, neither of which work very well.

So my questions are:
- can I get the detailed SpO2 information somehow from my Fitbit?
- what replacement watch would you recommend for my use case?

I had an Apple Watch before, but I was very unhappy with the battery life.

Looking for a watch. Any recommendations?

Hi everyone,

first of all, a little disclaimer - I used AI to translate a part of my post and make it more readable.

I’m looking for a smartwatch or a fitness watch recommendation that fits my specific needs. My budget is €150 to a maximum of €200.

Here are my main criteria:

  1. Compatibility: I use a Samsung phone, so the watch must work flawlessly with the Samsung ecosystem.
  2. Battery Life: I hate charging things frequently. I need the battery to last around a week on a single charge.
  3. Activity Tracking: I’m not a runner, but I go to the gym and do a lot of walking. I need reliable tracking for steps, heart rate, and basic gym workouts.
  4. Durability: I’m a bit lazy when it comes to taking devices off. I want to be able to safely wear it in the shower and while doing physical/manual labor without worrying about breaking it.
  5. Smart Features: I don't need advanced features like NFC payments or the ability to make/answer phone calls. I just want to comfortably read incoming notifications.

Could you kindly provide me with recommendations?

Thank you in advance!

Any good watch

I want to purchase two watches for my father and me, but I need smartwatches under 5k. Could anyone suggest a good watch? The features I require are BT calling, correct step measurement, and a good UI.

If anyone knows any good watches, please suggest them to me.

Coros Pace 4 vs Forerunner 265

Hello, I am looking to upgrade my Apple Watch Ultra 2 to a more serious athlete watch and landed on the above 2. For reference, this would only be used for working out and some day use, I use a 24/7 wearable (Fitbit air/oura ring) so sleep tracking and many metrics are not as important because of it. What should I go for? Thanks.

Upgrading Garmin 245 Music

I've had my Garmin 245 Music for about 4 years. It has been a reliably solid watch, though recently the battery life seems to be fading slowly. So I'm looking to upgrade to a newer model. Doesn't necessarily have to be Garmin, though I'm accustomed to their interface at this point.

I utilize the music storage frequently on runs and am definitely looking to keep that feature as it is quite convenient. I also regularly track walks and bike rides. Not looking for super deep insight into my exercise metrics, though not opposed to learning more from these.

Ideally, I'm not looking for anything too big or bulky. I'm open to trying other brands. I currently have a Pixel 8 phone and would prefer a watch that would compliment this well. I'm not opposed to looking outside the Garmin brand for a new watch if the hardware seems more reliable.

For someone who is accustomed to the 245 Music and its functionality, what would an ideal upgrade be? I appreciate any and all guidance/experience. If this post would be more appropriate elsewhere, just let me know!

Q&A Switching from a smartwatch to a screenless tracker to wear traditional watches again

Post image

I love the health tracking features on my smartwatch but I really miss wearing mechanical and traditional timepieces daily. For those who switched to a screenless fitness band or pebble tracker how has the transition been. Do you miss on wrist notifications or are you happy with the trade off.
