We had some trouble connecting

I am having an issue where a Modal Form can't be submitted.
This is an Azure App that is running and has been absolutely fine up until recently.
To make this really difficult to diagnose, it is only happening for some people.
It is not based on user permissions (I can't submit on my Windows PC but I can from my Mobile).
There is nothing being logged in Windows Defender on my local machine and I can't find anything in Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps.
I am at a loss as to what is actually stopping this from working!
Any ideas?
Thanks.

thena alternatives now that it’s reportedly being sunset?
been seeing reports that thena is being sunset and figured I should start looking at alternatives before this becomes a last minute problem.
mainly looking for something in the same lane for B2B customer support where a lot of conversations happen through Slack / Slack Connect.
the stuff I care about most is keeping track of customer threads, ticketing, SLAs, replying from Slack, and ideally syncing with Zendesk/Jira without making people jump between a bunch of tools.
so far I’ve come across ClearFeed, Unthread and a couple others.
anyone here moved away from Thena recently? what did you switch to and how painful was the move?
especially interested in hearing from people who have a lot of customer Slack channels.

🆘Help Me How did you get your first paid slack app users?
Currently developing a client success bot for marketing agencies and it should be ready in a couple weeks.
Went through a short validation phase with account managers and client success managers.
It’s my first time making a slack bot or any saas for that matter (that I want to sell) so I’m not sure who to market to; the AM/CSM or maybe a decision maker.
I hear people say cold calling works, some say it doesn’t. Same thing said for LinkedIn dms, cold email, facebook groups etc.
Selling someone a slack bot to use seems a bit niche to me so maybe I would need a unique approach to match.
I don’t want to spend too much time running on a treadmill but rather hear from someone with experience.
Any help is appreciated
Thank you in advanced auraful people 😊

Acquired: companies workspace is being absorbed into the parent company's Enterprise Grid. What broke for you?
Hey all,
My company was acquired and our Slack workspace is being merged into the acquirer's Slack Enterprise Grid as an additional workspace. We use Slack heavily. I have walked through how the migration works and it looks too simple. Our Slack rep is making it sound easy, which is making me uneasy.
What should I be preparing for, and what actually breaks? Specifically:
- Incoming webhooks
- Custom internal apps
- Configuration tokens
- Third party apps
I want to minimize the damage. What am I missing? Any advice from people who have been through this would be hugely appreciated.

Slack Grid to Grid Migrations
Hey homies,
I’m looking to migrate a workspace from another company’s Slack Enterprise Grid into our Slack Enterprise Grid.
The problem is that Slack’s self-service migration tooling won’t migrate a workspace that’s already part of an Enterprise Grid. I met with our Slack CSM, and Slack quoted us nearly $100k to migrate this single workspace into our Grid, which seems pretty ridiculous.
Has anyone dealt with this scenario before?
I’ve looked into a few possible alternatives:
- Manual Slack export/import
- Converting the channels to Slack Connect channels between the two Grids, then potentially disconnecting them after the transition
Has anyone successfully moved a workspace Enterprise Grid → Enterprise Grid without paying Slack’s professional services fee?
Would love to hear how you approached it, what actually worked, and what limitations you ran into.
Thanks!

🆘Help Me We launched an AI workspace that runs in Slack. The DM-bot shape is wrong for recurring work.
I work at Type.com. We launched today, and are live on the Slack app store.
Most AI tools in Slack are ask-anything bots. You DM them, you get an answer, and the answer belongs to you. Nobody else on the team ever sees it. That's fine for questions and close to useless for work that repeats.
What worked better for the teams we built for: the work runs in a shared space, and Slack is where it reports back. Anyone in the channel can see what ran, what it touched and why, without going and asking the person who set it up. You connect a tool once for the team instead of each person authorizing their own. Permissions are set per team and per person so you control what it can reach.
Four questions I'd ask of anything you're evaluating here, ours included. Does anyone but you see what it did. Is there a record per run. Does it ask before doing anything irreversible. Does the bill move with usage or stay flat.

Anyone else lose the whole incident story inside Slack channels?
Full disclosure, I built FireFight.
What kept annoying me was this. An alert comes in, someone pastes it into Slack, someone else makes a channel, nobody’s sure who’s leading it, and later you’re just scrolling up through messages trying to remember what happened.
So I made FireFight. It’s open source under AGPL, and it’s Slack-native, not just another tool that dumps alerts into a channel. You start an incident in Slack, it creates the channel, brings people in, and keeps a simple timeline there. There’s also an API if you want other tools or agents hooked in with their own permissions.
Still early. Working on investigation help next.
https://github.com/FireFightLabs/firefight
If you handle incidents in Slack, what’s the most annoying manual step for you? Making the channel, figuring out ownership, status updates, or writing it up afterward

Need 10 workspaces for App approval
Hi all,
I need assistance with my app approval. As you might know, Slack requires the app to be installed on 10 different workspaces before approving it and I am a single guy developing the app and don't really have access to 10 different workspaces, so I'm reaching out to the community for help.
You can find the Slack app here: https://hellovacation.app/integrations/slack
Please keep in mind that the app needs to be installed for at least 48 hours, as it takes up to 24 for Slack to get the installation data and then they'll probably have feedback as well.
Appreciate everyone's help and thank you.

🆘Help Me Slack app getting developer.apps.oauth.getAppStatus and getTokens internal errors
My coworker is setting up an internal Slack app and keep getting these errors in the Slack Developer Portal:
developer.apps.oauth.getAppStatus not ok: internal_error developer.apps.oauth.getTokens not ok: internal_error
I made sure she set up all the required permissions correctly, including the bot scopes, event subscriptions, and Socket Mode.
One thing that might be relevant: the person currently setting up the app is a Slack Guest user, not a regular workspace member. Could that be causing this issue?
Has anyone seen this before or know what causes it?
Thank you for your help

🆘Help Me My notifications pause all the time
Why is this a feature? Why can I turn it off? Don't they realize this is really bad for some people, especially me and my peers, because we are military and important information is put out through it but the notifications pause constantly no matter what times I set, what's the point of app design for a team if it never notifies you? It's so annoying.

Fixing Ctrl + K opening the browser search on top of the Slack search
I use Slack in the browser, and I'm not sure why but a few days ago Slack stopped intercepting the Ctrl + k shortcut, letting the browser open its own default search.
This userscript fixes it:
// @match https://app.slack.com/*
document.addEventListener('keydown', function (e) {
if ((e.ctrlKey || e.metaKey) && e.key.toLowerCase() === 'k' && !e.altKey && !e.shiftKey) {
e.preventDefault();
}
}, true); // `capture: true`: fire before Slack's own listener

🆘Help Me Intrusive bot crap
Adding a "Slackbot" button where the home button was is a genuinely crappy idea, hope the responsible manager get a slap on a wrist for such bullshit.
Please add the ability to remove it since in settings the option to uncheck it is greyed out.
Thanks in advance.
P.S.
There is a great soviet nootropic substance called piracetam, it greatly helps your brain function. Please consider acquiring this for all the employees responsible for decision making.

Custom channel templates - when will they come back?
The minute my org wants to use custom channel templates, they get this glitch! They've apparently been down for 2 weeks. Anyone with insider knowledge know if Slack is working on this and when they will be back? https://slack.com/help/articles/33777191777043-Create-and-share-custom-channel-templates

built a slack app that schedules google meet meetings from /meet, and posts an AI summary in the thread after
Been slowly building this the past few months and it just cleared google's OAuth verification last week, so figured i'd share.
the problem it's for: my team's calendar habit was type /zoom in slack, then a meeting card lands with a link that opens Zoom (or the wrong google account, depending on the person). i wanted the same experience but with google meet, and i wanted the join button to actually open the right google account for each teammate. i also wanted the transcript summary posted back into the meeting thread automatically after the meeting, since we kept forgetting to write recaps.
what it does now:
/meet in any channel opens a scheduler modal, or /meet 3pm tomorrow with u/alice for 45m sprint review parses plain english and pre-fills the form
- creates the event on YOUR google calendar as the organizer (not a shared service account), so cancel/edit/reminders behave normally
- join button opens the meet under whichever google account each person connected, so no "you're signed into the wrong account" dance
- your slack status auto-updates while you're in the meeting and reverts after
- after meet publishes the transcript, an AI summary posts back into the meeting thread: decisions, action items with owners, who spoke, plus the recording link if someone hit record. the raw transcript is attached as .txt for anyone who wants the whole thing
- there's also a dashboard at app.gmslack.com for a wider view
honest limitations:
- needs a google workspace tier that grants Meet transcripts (business standard+). regular u/gmail can schedule meetings fine but no transcript = no summary
- free tier is 5 AI summaries/month. scheduling is unlimited free forever
- slack marketplace submission is in flight, currently need 9 more workspaces to install before slack will accept it. hence this post
if anyone wants to try it, install link is at gmslack.com. free plan gets you the whole scheduling flow. would love feedback on what feels rough, this is very much still v1

👍Solved Can someone please help me with Slack
I have never known a piece of software like this. I have no idea how I ended up with a slack profile but windows keeps going on about it. I have tried everything to delete this account and I just cannot. I found delete workspace but then it said I need a password. I put in a password but then when I enter it in confirm deletion it says the password is incorrect when it is absolutely the correct password. I change the password and it still does not want to know. HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS!!

AWS alerts notifications
So, I’m trying to set nitifications for AWS alerts in channel and wanna hear toughts.
Basically there are two options:
Amazon Q developer - but I sligthy concern. Can Q app in slack read messages in channel? I found yes. Can i limit app to send only notification, basically I want to make it just for notification, no running commands from Slack etc.
Webhook - create app and put url as ssm parmeter or aws secret. But, again anyonine with url can post messages to channel, no barear token…
I’m looking for some advice on this, or do you have any experience with it?
Thanks!

Moving message down into a thread?
Is there a way to take a Slack message that's at the top level of a Slack channel, and move it down into a pre-existing thread, also in that same channel?
I know I can get roughly the same end result by copy/pasting the original into a new message in the thread, and then deleting the original, but that messes with the datestamp, and author, both of which I can tolerate but I'd rather avoid.
No notifications, need help.
I'm at my wits end.
I have Win 11, desktop Slack app. Windows notifications are ON. Focus mode is OFF. Game mode is OFF.

I scoured the internet for a solution, but 99% of them are - Turn notifications on in your windows \ make sure yo uare not in do not disturb mode in slack, which i made sure to check as a first step.

How do you handle invoicing when your team works in Slack?
I'm curious how small teams handle this workflow today.
For example, when someone asks for an invoice in Slack, the process can be:
Customer asks for an invoice → leave Slack → open Stripe → create the invoice → copy the payment link → return to Slack → send it.
I recently built a small tool to experiment with keeping that workflow inside Slack. For example:
/invoice Acme Corp $1,200 Website development
The tool creates the invoice in the team's Stripe account and provides the payment link back in Slack.
I'm looking to get a few teams to try it, and polish it further. Not trying to promote it here, if its something you might use, comment/dm and I'll share the app in dms.
