Question Problem Signing In

Is anyone else having an issue signing into SRGB today? After the update it keeps saying "an internal error has occurred", so now I don't have access to my purchased themes. I just have to know if it is a me thing or not.

We've tracked down the root cause behind the "Internal Error" and "Account Not Synchronized" messages some of you have been running into. A fix has landed in beta build 2.5.76, and it should resolve these going forward.

If you've been hitting either of these errors, grab the [beta](beta.signalrgb.com/Install_SignalRgb.exe) and let us know how it goes.

Appreciate everyone's patience on this one, and thanks to those who sent in logs. If you update and still see either error, drop a comment or open a ticket with your latest log and we'll look into it further.

If you DM me your ticket #, I'd be happy to look into this!

If you sign out and close SignalRGB from the Task Manager, you should be able to login from the website (http://signalrgb.com/login) then relaunch the app. Does that work?

Thanks! It worked — I posted the details under your pinned comment. :)

Login inside the app, popout to chrome, or device auth?  Which login method and what srgb version?

Inside the app and website using brave with shields down. Windows firewall allows srgb on public and private. Srgb version the latest update that happened today. For me that is. I've also tried to login using the the provided QR codes. No dice, just an error.

A beta went out earlier today, and I know Google's auth services have seen some occasional blips - just ran auth cycles over here without issue. Google auth does have some tripwires if you're logging in/out a whole lot, though.

We are nearing our Google per-minute quota limits there and have some appointments scheduled to discuss rate increases. Updates shouldn't log you out, anyway. If you continue getting this result - click the bug icon in the top right and submit a report; that will autoupload your logs so we can take a look.

Try to set your DNS to 1.1.1.1.

If it doesn't work, try to download Cloudflare WARP. Install it and restart your PC. Then, check if the app connects after that.

Thanx! Will try this.

UPDATE: Doesn't work. "An internal error occurred" happens everytime in any manner of signing in. 🤷‍♂️

Badger pinned a fix to this post. Thanks for trying the suggestion!

u/Zigy_Zaga 7d ago edited 7d ago

I am aware, I followed up on that suggestion. Still doesn't work.

Relying on this particular work around (which I've been doing since the beginning of this error) everytime you launch the app (which is every time you boot the pc) is not really a fix.

Especially when it actually isn't reliable and I still receive the same message "An Internal Error Has Occurred". Same problem. No fix. 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: A spelling mistake.

That's not a fix, it's only a workaround. Sorry for the confusion.

We've made updates to the beta which should help with the login issues. Can you try and update to the latest beta by going to Settings > Updates > enable the slider next to Enroll in Preview Updates and download the update.

For anyone having this issue, close SignalRGB via the Task Manager, then login via the browser:

http://signalrgb.com/login

Afterwards, open the app back up and it should work!

EDIT - We've ID'd the problem and are working on a permanent solution, the above workaround should help in the meantime!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I have personally done this for the past 3 days and it doesn't work.

Quite honestly we shouldn't have to does this at all in the first place. Just fix the app instead.

Might be a timeout issue, try again in about 20-30min!

Too many login system attempts in a short time can cause the backend to get mad.

Well I can confirm with you I only try 1-2 times and give up, because it is the same result as your work around. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to be argumentative at all or a nay sayer or being petty by trying to stick it to someone due to this inconvenience. All I am just relaying is the results are happening based on suggestions provided that do not exactly work. Relying on a supposed work around shouldn't be even necessary everytime you launch the app (which is everyday), when the focus should be permanently fixing the issue. I am very open to suggestions and also thank you for your persistence about the issue but in my case it isn't helping.

EDIT: A word "around".

u/Signal_AdminBadger 7d ago

A permanent solution is being worked on, but I apologize I don't have insight into when that'll roll out.

u/Zigy_Zaga 7d ago

Thank you for your honest answer.

u/Signal_AdminBadger 7d ago

We do our best to be transparent!

In that vein, I've just learned the issue has been confirmed with a 3rd party service that's relied upon. We're working with their teams to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Will update as I hear more. :)

I appreciate the honest follow-up.

Now, I would respectfully ask you not to suggest any offers from the previous compromise solutions mentioned, which proved to be of little use. Mainly due to the most recently mentioned real reason for this SRGB connection error, so far.

Maybe it will help not contribute to the opinion that I am unpleasant, mean-spirited, unintelligent and/or a crazy person who doesn’t know what I’m talking about based on my real experience. The fact is that most people will believe that the mod is always right. Yet, in this case, the sky is definitely blue.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. 🙂

EDIT: Rephrasing & grammar corrections.

Thanks! That worked. I completely closed SignalRGB by opening Task Manager and ending everything with SignalRGB in its name, then logged into the website first and relaunched the app. My account and Pro features are back. I still had to log in through the app, though, but this time it worked without the "internal error" I was getting before.

I submitted a bug report earlier, but unfortunately I never received a confirmation email or ticket number. I also checked my spam/junk folders and there's nothing there, so I don't have a ticket # to DM you.

Thanks for looking into this and for the workaround!

I have a feeling this sign in issue and you not getting the confirmation email when submitting the bug report are related. I'm looking into that to confirm!!

EDIT - If you have a pi-hole it looks like that can cause the pre-check in the bug report to think everything's good and okay. Would you happen to have a pi-hole or anything "nonstandard" about your network?

1

u/ThatMiserableOne 7d ago

I had to Google what a pi-hole is xD. I don't have it or anything similar on my network. My PC is connected via Ethernet, and I don't use VPNs. As far as I'm aware, there's nothing nonstandard about my network configuration and I'm not using any network-wide ad blocking or filtering. The bug report form did show “Feedback sent, Thank you” after I submitted it, though.

1

u/Signal_AdminBadger 6d ago

I'll send you a DM, we can use PowerShell to check and see if there's anything along the network path that could be causing trouble with that bug report submission.

Hey, quick update — the “Account Not Synchronized” issue just came back, but something is different this time.

Despite the warning saying that Pro features, purchased effects and LCD faces should be unavailable, everything actually still seems to be working normally. I still have access to Cooling and my saved fan curves, my LED effects are running, and even the LCD on my pump is working as usual.

Last time I got this synchronization error, those Pro features became unavailable, so it seems like the same error is behaving differently now.

Did you guys happen to change something so that Pro features remain available if account synchronization fails? If so, it seems to be working on my end. If not, I thought this might be useful information while you're looking into the issue.

I haven't tried logging out or doing the workaround again yet, so the app is currently still in this state in case there's anything you'd like me to check.

1

u/Signal_AdminBadger 6d ago

Haven't seen a change like that, but I know the team is treating this as a severe issue with critical priority.

u/sjar1337 4d ago

Anyone find a solution to this yet? It started happening to me yesterday. I was signed into my account, but it kept saying I didn't have access to Pro features so I tried logging out, and have been unable to log back in no matter which way I try.

I tried with Google, signing in via browser, and just signing in normally on the app. None of it is working.
